Stamford Meadows Glamping provides a variety of holistic therapies on-site, carried out in a separate bell tent from trained practitioners and local GPs. Guests can sign up for acupuncture, reflexology, a Swedish body massage, aromatherapy, a remedial massage, Hopi ear candling, an Indian Head Massage, reiki, or reflexology for an additional charge — Stamford’s hosts do not take a commission from these practises.
As its name suggests, the actual Stamford Meadows are directly accessible from the site. These 30 acres of land contain wildflower walks, including the Vence Walk footpath that runs through the Meadows. Visitors can access the River Welland, where they can go fishing or even kayaking, within a two-minute walk from the site. The town of Stamford is only a 10-minute walk from the site.
Rutland Water is a 15-minute drive from the site, with this sprawling reservoir surrounded by 4,200 acres of land ideal for a local day out. Hire a bike from the local Rutland Cycling (0330 555 0080) and embark on the Rutland Water lap (23 miles), Peninsula trail (15 miles), or Family trail (8 miles). You can also go fishing here and book in a beginners’ fly fishing course, or even enjoy some watersports and hire kayaks, paddleboards, rowboats, and more.
