Rutherford's shepherds hut sits in a secluded field in the middle of the Norfolk countryside. It is situated on the land of a small holding close to the market town of Reepham. If you like a simple, quiet, break away from it all where all you can hear are the birds, then this is the place for you. Rutherford's is cosily built for two staying. The bed is one of the most comfortable you've ever slept on, and the hut includes all the conveniences you'll need for a short break with sink, fridge and gas hob, the kitchen area all picked out in superb rustic detail. Please note there is no oven. We've got water and energy saving on our minds with the compost loo and there's also a shower, perfect for refreshing after a day's walk or cycle on Mariotts Way, only a stones throw in distance. In the evening, you can relax under the stars with a campfire ( wood supplied) listening to the Tawny owls and enjoy the peace and quiet of the private site. We welcome 1 well-behaved dog (please bear in mind that there is usually live stock in the surrounding fields so dogs must be kept on leads at all times). There is also the option of bringing children (max 2) in a small pup tent. Reepham is 15 minutes walk from the site where you can find everything you need to kit you out for a weekend away. We had a fantastic stay at the Shepherd's hut, Fritha was a fantastic and welcoming host. The hut itself is well equipped and the site is spacious and peaceful. All the amenities that you would need are there, meaning that you can cook for yourself in the hut if you want, or the hut is only a 15 minute walk from Reepham where there are pubs and resaurants - and the scenery all around is beautiful. Would thoroughly recommend, the hut is cosy and well equipped and we had a great stay.

A lovely, comfy stay

With pets

We loved Rutherfords! It was a lovely, peaceful site with plenty of space. It was easy to find with the hosts instructions, and they made sure we had all we needed. It was so nice to have the field to ourselves so that our dog could explore on his long lead and have a play. The little kitchen was well stocked with utensils and crockey, and the fridge and gas hob was a luxury. The inside of the hut was clean and well organised and felt spacious for the size it is. The bed was also very comfy! We spent the evening by the fire pit and enjoying the outdoors, knowing we had somewhere warm and comfy to go after. We would definitely love to stay again.
