Private, good locale, a bit pricey
20 ft travel trailer ·
Jennifer only rents to one party at a time, so we greatly appreciated the privacy. Proximity to Cedar Key and Manatee Springs State Park were great. Plentiful free firewood. The tent camping area was lovely. The price was a bit steep considering that no water was available, especially given the proximity to houses - we expected it to be very remote but that was not at all the case. The RV area was right next to a construction site; no construction was happening so it wasn’t loud, but it was not a nature-based experience. Dogs next door barked on and off throughout the night. As long as you know what to expect, this was a fine experience and I would go back there.

Perfect getaway in the woods!
Jennifer and her husband have cleared out just a few perfect campsites on their 10-acre wooded property in a rural community. The sites are not too far apart, or too far from their home, but the way they are cleared leaves plenty of woods for perfect privacy...we had the illusion of being all alone in the woods. They were friendly, welcoming people and we enjoyed meeting them. We came prepared for primitive camping...bathroom and all...but they did offer the use of a porta potty elsewhere on the property. They kindly marked stumps and large roots so it would be safe to drive back to our campsite. There was a little noise from hunters in the area and relatively quiet roosters, but that is all part of rural lifestyle to us and was no problem. It was exactly the getaway we were looking for and we will definitely revisit!
