With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. You might also be lucky enough to be there when our two kelpies, Finn and Tori, are moving sheep through the property (they like to put on a show!!). The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We try to make sure all of our guests have a great experience - so if you have any special requests reach out to us and have a chat!

Beautiful spot, bit expensive
Tent · With kids ·
This is a beautiful spot with a large flat campsite area next to a small pond. Facilities were a 5-10 minute walk away (10 minutes for small legs!), but they were great with a large undercover area we used while it rained. However, as there is a charge per person, 1 night for a family of 4 (with 2 kids under 5 in one small tent) was much more expensive than we expected ($100 for 1 night). With facilities similar to some National parks campsite (a few flushing toilets a bit of a walk away, playground equipment, 2 undercover areas) I was expecting more like national parks prices (between $12-$40 a night).

Fabulous camping weekend
Tent · With kids ·
Our group had a wonderful time camping at Jol and Karen’s farm. They were amazing hosts, very welcoming and thoughtful. They went and above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay, including lots of activities (golf, playground, basketball, bikes to name a few). Our kids absolutely loved swimming in the dam and saying hello to Indie and Finn (Jol and Karen’s beautiful kelpies). Thank you so much Jol and Karen for providing us the opportunity to camp at your farm. We made many special memories and will be back again soon.

Karen and Jol are wonderful hosts and their property is beautiful. Heaps for the kids to do. Great for dogs. A really handy camp kitchen. And just a stunning setting. We will definitely be back.

Best camping within Canberra region
Tent · With pets ·
We had another cracking camp over the Australia Day long weekend. There were a few other families camping on the property, but we were all so spread out it felt as though you were completely on your own. The shower booking system worked really well, allowing all of us to get our showers done in the evening with no stress. As per usual, Jol & Karen were incredible hosts that made us feel welcomed thanks to their warm, generous and accomodating nature. A few friendly visits from their cute kelpies too! Given it’s such a short drive from Canberra, the Dalton pub is close by and a perfect lunch spot, you just can’t go wrong with this place. Cannot recommend highly enough!

To Jol and Karen, absolutely fantastic place of the off the grid experience, plenty to do, sadly we didn’t catch any fish on this trip. Would highly recommend to anyone starting out or experienced campers, facilities were what you would expect from a farm stay, everything works if you don’t have all the necessary to survive off the grid. Jol and Karen are awesome hosts. Jason

Me and my friend passed through on a road trip and what a spot! Relaxing and a million activities to do, we enjoyed a sunset bike ride and a swim in the dam. Beautiful scenes, would return!
