We are located in the Dungog Shire, in the Hunter Region of NSW. This area is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Horseshoe camp is a perfect location for couples or families to get away for a short or extended stay. The Barrington Tops National Park, State Forests, Chichester Dam, river systems as well as the historic and scenic character of the area provide for a stunning experience. There's plenty of sightseeing and exploring awaiting visitors to this area. The seclusion and privacy of Horseshoe camp allows for total relaxation in a beautiful rural setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We are a quiet camp and cater for like minded guests who enjoy nature and their own space. Horseshoe was originally a small dairy farm with a history going back to the 1800's. The land comprises fertile river flats surrounded by the Williams River. The higher land comprises mainly forested areas with some sites offering good views over the countryside. There are several campsites to choose from including some situated on the banks of the Williams River. Your choice and subject to weather conditions. Allowing only four sites to be occupied ensures privacy for our guests, Horseshoe camp is only 10 minutes drive, (7km) from Dungog township. Please note, our river sites may not always be available-subject to flooding or boggy access track. We do have a flush toilet in the shed but if you have your own all the better as it will save you a bit of a walk. The seclusion and privacy of our property allows for total relaxation in a beautiful setting providing an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. We welcome grey nomads, families and sporting enthusiasts such as bushwalkers, bird watchers, fisher folk and cyclists. Our Hipcamp is a quiet camp, and as such we are unable to accommodate parties or large groups. If you are self contained all the better we do however have a flush toilet and water available if needed. Enjoy the plentiful bird life, and natural surrounds, the stars at night, sounds of the river, all from your grassed, mostly level, campsite. Perhaps a stroll around the property or along the riverbank would be to your liking. There is a dedicated firepit area near the large shed, please only use this firepit for your campfire. You can purchase firewood at the local service station or firewood provider in town. Alternatively wood can be cut on site under direction. Bring your own chain saw. We do ask that you take your rubbish with you on departure. The campsite can accommodate small caravans, camping vehicles such as campervans and camper trailers but not large motorhomes or large caravans. Our river sites may not always be available subject to flooding or boggy access track. Located only minutes away from Dungog township all the amenities provided in this area are within easy reach including Dungog Common and the popular Mountain Bike Trail. Pets on leashes are allowed subject to our approval. Please contact us prior to booking as we have cattle on the property.

Wow, what a beautiful Hipcamp location. The host, Michael, is a great communicator and a gracious host. This place is so stunning I’m almost tempted not to share but that would be mean. We will definitely be back to swim in the Williams River. The only change I would make is that next time we’ll stay longer! Thanks Michael for a wonderful stay.

Private Riverside Camp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5 m pop-up camper
My fiancé and I had an amazing stay along the river, loved falling asleep to the sound of the river. Private site, lots of space and perfect spot for cooling off when hot summer weather. We had two clear nights and loads of stars on the sky. Not far away from Dungog which has a great little brewery (and pulled pork and brisket burgers) and some good coffee spots. The owner was very helpful and no issues with directions. We will definitely come back again!
