Come and camp in this quiet, peaceful location. Campers will be able to enjoy state forest access to explore wildlife or sit back, relax and take in the extensive views of the ocean, farmland and green valley, established tropical fruit trees, wandering cattle in close proximity and occasional native animals wandering by, city lights at night can be seen while under the stars, privacy assured. There are also bush walks for guests to enjoy. There are few facilities here, tank water and a sawdust composting toilet, picnic table and small contained fire pit also... campers need to be self sufficient with optional own toilet/shower facilities and leave no trace. The camp site has had an upgrade beautification and facility program that is fully available. The property is in close proximity to the ocean and the city, just a 10 minute drive too the Coffs Harbour CBD. You're welcome to bring your pet, but they must be supervised and kept under control. Campfire are permitted in the provided fire area. Please note that some sites require 4WD access and are a steep climb (see photos). Caravan access is limited to small to medium length only. A Hidden Gem Near Coffs Harbour
5 m pop-up camper · With pets
If you're looking for a peaceful, scenic camping spot just outside of Coffs Harbour, this place is an absolute gem! The views are incredible, with rolling hills and lush greenery stretching as far as the eye can see. Privacy is top-notch—you won’t feel like you're camping on top of your neighbours. One of the highlights is the steep but rewarding hike right next door. It’s a bit of a challenge, but the payoff at the top is well worth it! Mobile reception is solid, which is a nice bonus for those who still need to stay connected. A heads-up for those with larger trailers or campers: the site isn’t quite wide enough to turn around easily, but we managed by turning ours manually. Smaller setups will have an easier time. Ray, the host, was absolutely lovely. We had a great chat about his property, and it’s clear he takes pride in maintaining such a beautiful spot. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway with a bit of adventure on the side!

Great location up the hill with nice views and Ray was very helpful. Even helped tow the second car up the hill when it got a bit stuck!

We didn't end up making it all the way to Ray's place, but he was so helpful! It had just rained and our van didn't have enough tread to get up the hill, but Ray was kind enough to offer to tow us up in his 4WD. He is such a lovely guy and gave clear directions to his beautiful valley.

Tent
Great spot for a base to explore the area. Very private and well maintained with a nice shelter, table and not stinky composting toilet. Ray was helpful and was also respectful of our privacy. It isn’t really a destination on its own as there isn’t really much to do there - other than relax. Also there is a quarry nearby that has a bit of distant noise. The proximity to Coffs and all the other features of the coast are what make it. is a steep hill and there are good reasons 4WD is recommended.

Camping with dogs
3 m pop-up camper
We had a lovely stay at Ray's, the camp site was clean and maintained well. The shelter and bench was a fantastic bonus. The views are amazing from up the top and it was a short drive to the town. The dogs enjoyed wondering around of leash. We definitely recommend staying at Rays. We had a small camper trailer which had to be turned around by hand as the turn circle was to small for our set up. Thank you Ray! 😁
