Castella River Farm is an 8 acre property with many natural features including Mountain Ash trees and bushland near the camp sites.
The Yea river runs behind the property and camping areas.
Locally we are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking.
We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about.
Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset.
Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance.
We also have horses (separate from the campsite) that campers can feed a carrot if they wish!
Water is available from our stables water tank. It is Tank water so not crystal clear but think of it as euculyptus tea!
NB: **We do have neighbours and the highway near by so there will be some noise .
Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as you are far enough away down the back paddock!
**Not suited to those wanting to be in the middle of nowhere
Friendly host, great location, could here a little road noise but nothing to complain about. The area was well maintained, the fire pit was great, we enjoyed our stay.
We loved this camp. Unfortunately it rained most of our trip we would like to come back in nicer weather. Fire ready for when we arrived and camp was flat and easy to set up. We booked the other camp too for total privacy and loved the little walk down the river from other camp. Would recommend 🙂
