Knock-out sea views, direct access onto the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and a beach within reach

This campsite will have you dancing a little jig of joy as soon as you’ve stepped foot on its delightful ground. Nuzzling the shores of the Irish Sea, the gaping National Trust land on which the farm and campsite reside offers knock-out views along the coast as well as direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and a sheltered swimming cove.

Owner Ian is a softly spoken guy who greets campers with warmth and ease. He and his wife Judy opened the site back in 1992 with just a tiny green corner of grass for campers. Since then he’s added a flat terrace with electrical hook-ups, situated even closer to the coast, for families and, because two is never a crowd, a third field – huge, undulating and guarded by a magnificent army of hawthorn bushes – has also been cleared for camping. The farm’s evolution didn’t stop there; its diminishing outbuildings have also been transformed into an impressive facilities block, while barns have become year-round holiday accommodation, activity and dining spaces, or cosy, ivy-clad bunk houses. The camping meadows have almost become a footnote to the rest of the farm’s great holiday offerings, albeit the sort of footnote that you’ll instantly remember and will return to again and again and again.

Testament to the site’s allure are the tales of grumpy teenagers who arrive in a sulk at the lack of mobile-phone signal, but who after a week of outdoor activities, campfires and barbecues, become tearful when it comes to going home. One or two Hipcamp authors may even confess to having felt the same way on packing up their tents…

Loved camping in the quiet field. Had electric hook up to our tent, which was great. Staff really friendly and helpful. Showers really clean. Lovely simple restaurant on site, and some great views

Perfect site for families
I stayed three nights with my daughter. Originally booked two nights but loved it so much we booked another night. The team were really helpful, especially when I needed some help with putting up my tent! All the facilties you could need for washing up, water, fridge, freezer and indoor eating space. Perfect location for exploring beaches and the cove is a definitely worth a walk. Hope to come back again and would definitely recommend. Just make sure you have plenty of tent pegs as it can be quite windy!

Camping on a stormy weekend
We had an amazing time camping with the most stunning views and beautiful beach. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We loved the communal room and enjoyed our evening meal. It was a Saturday night so curry night was on the menu. The evening entertainment was a brass band playing in the red barn with a great atmosphere. Gareth went above and beyond making us feel relaxed and fully informed of anything we need to know.

Celtic Camping is a rustic open field site, which gives you the space to breathe, the space to play and the space to relax.  Our Pembrokeshire camping site is set in 250 acres of open farmland, you can enjoy knockout ocean views, our own little cove pebble beach of ‘Aber Pwll’, easy access to the ‘Pembrokeshire Coastal Path’, which runs directly through the farm and a wealth of stunning local activity beaches around our coastline. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Whilst Wales is now at alert level 0 - So you must still: - follow social distancing rules with people you don’t live with or who are not in your extended household - wear a face covering (if you are able to) in all indoor public places (not including hospitality) and public transport. "Please do not travel to the campsite if you or anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms. Please also show consideration for everyone in the local community. We also urge everyone to respect social distance in and around the campsite plus whilst you are out in the local area and maintain good hand sanitation - very masks and face-covering where appropriate". Remember "Hands, Face, Space"

The pebble beach is a 10-minute walk away – just off the coast path. It’s small but has rockpools and is good for swimming. Or ramble along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path for just over 30 minutes towards Abereiddi’s famous Blue Lagoon. For the activities, we use external providers and you are welcome to book directly with them. Here are a few companies that we work with:  Man Up UK - 07855 954702  CELTIC QUEST COASTEERING - 01348 837337 TYF ADVENTURE  - 01437 721 611 ADVENTURE BEYOND - 01239 612133 - 07787123761

They all have pretty amazing websites and offer a fantastic service. We can also put you in touch with a local boat company (Voyages of Discovery - 01437 721911) that runs fantastic trips around our islands and just offshore.
Food and drink

There are lots of places that you can visit locally and whilst we are slightly remote taxis are not a problem. There is also a local bus service that runs infrequently up and down the coast road. St Davids, which is 4 miles away, has a number of really good pubs The Bishops and The Farmers Arms, along with some cracking hotel restaurants; St Davids Cross Hotel and The Grove Hotel.

In the other direction, Porthgain, which is a tiny fishing village with a famous pub called "The Sloop"; which serves fine ales and very good food and is set in a beautiful location. Also in Porthgain, you can also find the fabulous fish restaurant 'The Shed' which serves up delicious fish and chips and freshly caught fish specials.

If you are looking for breakfast you can either eat here on-site, (when we are open) or venture into St Davids where you will find The Mill cafe and Pilgrims Cafe at Oriel y Prac but if you are looking for something different there is the amazing restaurant The Really Wild Emporium.

There is also CK's NISA convenience store and supermarket which provides just about all your needs  - this is situated 4 miles away in St Davids.  For those who need a little more both Tescos and Morrison drop off on-site.
