Camping and glamping with immaculate facilities, wood-fired pizzas, and sea views to and Abereiddy and Porthgain.

Ah, Pembrokeshire. Truly a coastline to rival any of the world's greatest. Epic sea views, mysterious hidden coves, lush verdant fields – the undeniable allure of this area in south-west Wales is clear to see. This is the Welsh holiday experience. And yet, the trouble with top-rate tourist destinations is... all the blinkin' tourists! While the snap-happy hordes descend en masse to St Davids and the surrounding hives of Solva, Whitesands and Newgale, we know a little gem of a place a little off the beaten track. Head north from Pembrokeshire's tip, and tucked away a little inland from the glorious golden sands of Aberiddy beach you'll find Coastal Stay Camping.

Originally a one-season-side-project to the adjacent four-star B&B, campers were so enamoured with the stunning views and lazy lake-side air of relaxation that the owners have now re-opened for successive years. Your wonderful host Marilyn is a proud farmer's daughter who'll greet you with a sunny "shwmai" and some organic eggs and veg from the small-holding. With a well-tended field for tents, tipis and the odd caravan, friendly goats for the kids to meet, an onsite wood-fired pizza shack, and possibly the most immaculate bathroom this side of Offa's Dyke, facilities are ample to say the least.

Location-wise, Coastal Stay offers the perfect retreat from the tourist trail while still being readily accessible for all the region's stunning sites and attractions. After a day of foraging or exploring Aberfiddy's famous Blue Lagoon, you can retire back at camp to watch the sun descend over the Irish Sea. As campfire mingles with the heady scents from the herb garden and the unspoilt night sky starts to twinkle, you'll thank your lucky stars you went off the beaten track. Just remember, keep it to yourself...

Our campsite is small and intimate with just 20 pitches. We make sure that the campsite remains a calm and relaxing enviroment Our aim is to give you just enough luxury and conveniences to keep your content but not too much that you forget you are camping in Wales. Each pitch comes with its own fire pit for toasting marshmallows or cosying up with a blanket and picnic table

I had a fantastic experience tent camping at Coastal Stay, even during Storm Bert. Marilyn and Nick were incredibly attentive and supportive, ensuring I felt safe and cared for throughout. Despite the heavy rain, the campsite’s drainage was excellent, and I didn’t experience any flooding or waterlogged areas . The coastal views were stunning, providing a peaceful and picturesque backdrop. While the site itself was quiet and relaxing; perfect for unwinding. The bathroom facilities were immaculate—easily among the best I’ve experienced at any campsite. Marilyn and Nick’s hospitality, combined with the beautiful location and well-kept facilities, made my stay unforgettable. Highly recommend Coastal Stay for a peaceful and idyllic camping experience

We had a great time, nice quiet campsite with lots of space for each pitch. Great views down the hill and a great hub to explore Pembrokeshire and the coasting path. The facilities are everything you need and hosts were on hand for anything we needed (electrical adapter for the hookup etc…) The pizzas that are made on site in a proper pizza oven were genuinely fantastic.

Beautiful pitch next to a large pond & sea views. Enjoyed watching the bats at night. Sheltered from the wind too. Lovely rustic toilet & showers etc, well maintained. Great location & nearby footpaths to get to coast. Didn't use firepit but great to have the option. Would definitely return!

The view is spectacular! Pitches are big and it is very quiet. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Loads of hike-opportunities in the neighbourhood.

Escape to a beautifully finished campsite small-holding located in a National Trust Conservation area with uninterrupted views of the north Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Views overlooking the Pembrokeshire Coast National park with incredible sunsets and unhindered views of the night sky, making our campsite perfect for stargazing around a camp fire after watching the sun set into the sea at Abereiddy. An ideal and tranquil base for viewing the attractions of Pembrokeshire and only a few miles from the shops, pubs and restaurants of St Davids. If you are looking for a hi-tech holiday park then we are probably not for you. But if you want your children to know how to build a den or forage for blackberries, then our Pembrokeshire camping site will be exactly what you’re looking for. Every pitch we have provides a view of the Pembrokeshire Coast. There are a range of pitches available to suit every type of camping setup. Our standard pitch is a spacious eight by eight meters, it is perfect for small, medium and large setups. ‘Forest’ pitches are offset in a small wooded area, they provide a bit more privacy and shelter from the wind, they can accommodate small and medium tents. As well as these we have a handful of pitches that are suitable for large motor homes and caravans, they provide easy accessibility in and out of the campsite. We also have two extra large specialty pitches, specifically for dome tents, tipis or other unique setups
Nearby attractions
St Davids, the smallest city in British Isles, is just down the road and boasts a wealth of ancient treasures and places to eat and drink. Be sure to visit the famous black sands and blue lagoon at Aberiddy Beach (former host of the Red Bull Cliff Diving Championships and now a popular spot for coasteering escapades with the likes of Celtic Quest Coasteering; 01348 837337), plus the idyllic fishing village of Porthgain.
Food and drink
The onsite pizza shack has proved a massive hit with campers. The Shed Bistro (01348 831518) and The Sloop Inn (01348 831449) in Porthgain are relaxed local favourites for a pint and a bite to eat – the fresh seafood at the former is legendary. Nearby St Davids has several decent places to eat including including The Bench (01437 721778) and the ever-popular Cwtch (01437 720491).
