Unsafe for kids & unresponsive
6 m travel trailer · With kids
I would absolutely not recommend this site. The owners were unresponsive. When we booked the site, we selected this one because it's proximity to lake access and had power and water. The lake access is stated it's a short walk, this is not true. This is not a short or easy walk. It's very technical and definitely not for kids. The power only worked intermittently. It kept shorting out and would not sustain our camper. The water never worked. When the other campers reported it, they said they'd give them a discount, but never responded when I reached out. There was glass in the driveway and overall it was dumpy. There was numerous "toilets" just left around the campsite. It felt very unclean. There was a deep trench that was dug to install power that was never filled it. This site was not kid friendly at all. The sites were not labeled and it was unclear there would be 1 electrical box for 3 sites, so you would need a very long extension cord if you wanted to even try to use it. I gave the owner the opportunity to resolve our concerns before writing this review and they never responded. Unless they make massive changes, make it clear you'd need an ATV to get to work, I would not come here. It is not worth the money.

Shady Pines needs some work but our camp host was open to constructive criticism and I'm sure they will work on some of the improvements to help it be a more user friendly site.

The site looks great, but I have to reschedule. Kimberly was very understanding and completely worked with me to figure out the situation.
