A Bush Lover’s Paradise
Tent · With pets
The Paddock is a self-contained bush-lover’s paradise! We stayed 5 nights with our 4x4 + canopy, a privacy tent and a dome tent. We were comfortable (despite it being hotter than expected) and never found ourselves bored. Highlights: Wildlife: Expect to see plenty of roos, robins, wrens, black cockatoos and if you’re lucky, a bird of prey. Privacy: We met some of the host’s family whilst exploring the property and they were lovely. Aside from that, we were left to our own devices, and not having to share the large paddock with other campers made for a private and peaceful stay. Location: Even with Telstra, we had no reception on the property, which gave us a much needed break from work, social media and study. It is super rural but also very close to town if you’re in need of anything. The lack of light pollution also makes for the perfect stargazing spot. Property: The property is gorgeous. We walked it a few times a day, every day, admiring the birds, enjoying the dam and exploring the forest behind it. Sunrise and sunset and the drive in are stunning. Comms: Nicholas’ communication made for a smooth trip and an easy task of finding the property, even in the dark. If you’re no-frills campers like us looking to escape the rat race and enjoy nature, then this is the place for you and your pet (Mildred the cat had a great time). Ensure you bring shade as there are only trees around the perimeter of the paddock, but if you forget, you’ll always have the dam to cool off in!

Thanks for the great weekend! We spent the weekend relaxing by the dam, reading in the shade and just enjoying the quiet. Plenty of walking and exploring to be done in the national park just over the fence. Nicholas was a great host, very prompt in getting in touch. If you’re coming from Perth: take Bussell hwy past Cowaramup and east along Osmington road to avoid a long corrugated road through the national park.
