Licensed anglers can fish for trout on Butte Creek, while nearby Lake Almanor offers excellent salmon, bass, and trout fishing.
The nearby Jonesville Canyon trail is a 3.3-mile, out-and-back hike, while the Rocky Pool hike, located 25 minutes away at the Deer Creek Trailhead on CA-32, is another great option. If you continue up Humboldt Road past Cherry Hill Campground (the road eventually becomes unpaved), you will intercept the Pacific Crest Trail near Humboldt Peak.
