At Deschutes the spring wildflowers break early, making spring camping particularly inspiring. You will find electrical sites with water (although water is shut off in the winter), primitive sites with drinking water and restrooms nearby, 4 group RV/Tent camping areas, picnic tables, fire rings, flush toilets and hot showers. The trade-off for your sweet riverside camping nook is the proximity to train tracks and the distinct lullabye of whistles blowing in the night.

Several vantage points offer stunning views of the Columbia River and the iconic Mt. Hood. During your stay, you can explore our seasonal farm stand, brimming with produce and products grown, raised, or crafted right here on the farm. Take a leisurely stroll through our one-acre garden, where a U-pick salad bar and a tomato and herb garden await. For a closer look at farm life, visit our chickens, guinea hens, and pigs – even feed them apples! And don't forget to meet Petunia, our beloved Kunekune pig, who adores a good belly rub. Our campground, featuring two sites sharing a one-acre field alongside a quiet county road, provides a peaceful outdoor retreat. Unfiltered spring water is accessible at spigots near the camp and farm stand; however, we recommend purifying the water for drinking or bringing your own. Please be aware that the campsites' proximity to the county road means occasional traffic may be seen and heard. Beyond the farm, you'll find yourself perfectly situated just 1.5 miles east of the Catherine Creek Recreation Area. This prime location caters to a wide range of interests, from hiking and mountain biking to hunting and rock climbing at Coyote Wall. Windsurfing, wine tasting at four neighborhood wineries (two within walking distance), and bird watching are also popular activities. The area teems with wildlife, including wild turkeys, deer, and a variety of songbirds. Further afield, a short drive opens up countless recreational opportunities, including fishing, swimming, beaches, boating, wind sports, wildlife viewing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and white-water rafting.

Proximity to mountain biking, hiking, kiteboarding, windsurfing and more. We have one huge RV site available for campers to book. With the RV site, you have the option to book the treehouse as an “Extra”. Only one "campsite" is available on the property. Which means you're the only people out here. Peace and privacy abound. You can choose wherever you want to put your tent. I open up my land to only one group at a time. Cell service is strong at the property. Work remotely while overlooking the view, and multiple picnic table locations. The treehouse has stools and countertops/desktops to work from if you choose to rent that as well. Rowland Lake is a great swimming spot at the bottom of the road (2 miles). I look forward to hosting you! After you turn on Carrol road, you will see a dry creek road sign. On your left camp site is down over the bank from this sign. Please follow these directions. Exit 69 off I 80 Turn up at store to 3rd Ave Turn left go aprox 1 mile over bridge. Turn right on Carrol road. We have a sink and pump that provides running water like a household sink. There is a porta-potty near the house and an outdoor heated shower. You'll bring your bedding, extra water for showering, and towels to make yourself comfortable. We have blankets and kitchen equipment as well as an outdoor grill and solo stove firepit. Come recharge among nature.

25 years in the making from a cattle ranch and alfalfa pasture to a scenic wildflower and wildlife haven, our farm is a working winery and vineyard. We have reestablished native wildflowers and grasses back into our vineyard in order to help conserve native prairie habitat. 80 percent of our land is oak woodland and is in the process of restoring itself from the aggressive grazing of cattle. Therefore, our farm provides a shelter for deer, turkeys, hawks, and bobcats. We enjoy these animals and give them the space that is due for sharing the land. We do almost all of our work by hand and do not own a tractor or much other farm equipment so our farm is a quiet and relaxed setting. Our property lies in a seasonal creek bottom that is an infrequent source of water in our area. Because of this all of our household water and agriculture is run from a spring and wildlife come from a distance to replenish their thirst.

An active train track runs across the river, so be prepared to be woken up in the middle of the night...but then you get to look at the incredible expanse of stars in the night sky before you drift off again.

Bring layers, it can get cold at night, and in the canyon very windy at times. Rattlesnake kit is also a good item to have stored. Great fly fishing opportunities. Feel free to reach out for any fishing tips!

If you want to get a little bit off-the-beaten-path, pack up your camping + fishing gear on your bike and ride a few miles down the gravel trail to one of the dispersed campsites along the river.
