Located in Fishlake National Forest, this remote campground is a great escape, but it is definitely out there—it’s 18-miles to the closest civilization (it’s called Salinas, Utah y’all). Get ready for some pre-modern camping, wildlife watching, chilly nights around the fire, and, who knows, maybe even some Band-Aided knicks scored on an exhilerating hike. Mmm, sounds right about perfect.

Just minutes away from the marina and Yuba Lake State Park amenities including zip line, potable water and dump with state park entrance fee. Enjoy the lake during the day and the stars at night. Property has two sites. Both have optional electrical hookup, boat slip , and firewood. Site 1 - “El Conejo Camp Spot” away from the main road featuring 4x20 step off deck, picnic table, and camp chairs, as well (2) 30amp RV hookups. This is a pull thru or pull around site. Site 2 - “Roadside Summit” with picnic table, fire ring, and 50amp electrical hookup. This is a pull through site with grade. Lake can be accessed with state park fee at the marina entrance and the north shore, or on the south side via five minute ride or 1.25 mi walk. (See Add-Ons if you need a boat slip for the day or overnight). Road in is dirt with minor grade up to property. Notes: ——— * Wildlife - In late summer, cattle graze nearby. In spring, you may see sheep and baby lambs on the way to the south beach access. There are rattle snakes, bunnies, and we’ve seen a scorpion or two. *Weather - Summer days can be quite hot with cooler nights. There is no shade on the property. Wind gusts carrying dust can occur. It’s a good idea to check weather app for conditions. *Landscape/Views - Utah natural landscape changes markedly with the seasons. Some photos may reflect green grasses, when these dry out mid summer, they can produce fine stickers to be aware of with long hair pets, kids, and ankles in general. Views can change depending on developing neighboring properties. Sunsets either at the lake or the property are unobstructed and often dramatic. Night sky viewing is also pretty awesome as there is very little light pollution.

We just added a basketball area and sand volleyball is summer 2022. Pickleball going in summer 2023. 8 new full hookup RV pads also going in summer 2023 and are now available with 30/50 amp service. Learn more about this land: Welcome to Capitol Reef Country! Road to the Sun Ranch is located in beautiful Grover, Utah (elev 7,200') along Scenic Highway 12, one of the most scenic drives in the United States. We are a pet friendly RV only campsite. The property is a short 6 mile drive from the quaint town of Torrey, host of the annual Fort Desolation Festival and 15 miles by car from Capitol Reef National Park. Our location provides RV travelers with an ideal base camp for exploring the natural wonders of this region of Southern Utah and the majestic Boulder Mountain. The property consists of mostly pasture land, desert sage, pinyon pine trees and panoramic mountain views. The ranch is surrounded by some of the most amazing scenery anywhere and endless outdoor opportunities! We have a single (self check-in) RV/trailer/van parking area complete with water, power, sewer, WiFi and picnic table. All guests MUST have their own bathroom, clean up after pets and pack out any trash. We are unable to accommodate tent or car camping anywhere on the property unless you are with a group that has a trailer or RV equipped with a bathroom available for use during your stay and no open wood burning fires are permitted at this time. Max trailer length is 28'. Max RV length is 35'. Class A motor homes are not recommended. Livestock enjoy the adjacent pastures during Summer and Fall months typically (June-September). The RV site is available seasonally from May - October.
