Weekend Trip to Bates Farm

We chose the furthest campsite and this land has everything from out in the open sites, to deep woods sites accessible only on foot. Mary & Wayne made sure we found Jessie's by leading us in their four-wheeler. Vast and beautiful landscape and all of it secluded. Plenty of wood to buy from your gracious hosts at great prices - and delivery, too! Mary showed us her love for flowers and they were blooming! Mary also made sure we got out safely since their Archery range was in full action - no accidents will happen here! The other half of this duo, Wayne, set us up with all that any camper would need and we felt safe and completely at peace. and that's why you come here, for the peace!

Weekend Trip to Colorful Camping at Beakertopia✨️🌈

I LOVED staying here. It is BEAUTIFUL. The moment you pull up you are greeted by majestic oak trees and a gorgeous bamboo fence. They have everything you need and more. You camp in a field with delicate wildflowers and under a ring of giant live oak trees. It felt magical. Everything is artsy and neat as well as environmentally friendly. The cost was great and it was super easy to find. I highly recommend her place.

Weekend Trip to Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp

This was my second time at Bohemia. First, was for Birmingham’s first music and arts festival called Awakenus. And I couldn’t wait to return. This place is simply magical. We hiked to the waterfall, took a long swim in the refreshing water, swam in the spring fed lake, kayaked, fished, and stargazed in the two nights we stayed. Leigh was awesome! She greeted us at check-in and was delightful to talk to. I highly recommend planning a trip here. The campsites are spacious and each has a picnic table, fire pit and plenty of space between them. A friendly reminder to leave no trace :)

Dave's property is ideal for enjoying the rural Alabama. The shelter, pond with covered dock are a great bonus. The fenced in area was great for the dog. Thanks David for sharing your wonderful place. Riss

1 night at Poor but Proud Stables

What a pleasant, peaceful night at this farm! Cindy greeted us at sunset and so did her sweet kitty - who came up and started doing lawn biscuits the second we parked!! Thank you for such a safe space to land for the night. Highly recommend and off we are in the area again we will be back!

2 nights at Pondview Acres Campground

Wow! What a peaceful gem. I stayed two nights the area for campers is very large and open next to a beautiful large pond. Sites have fire rings and the host provided the requested fire wood as agreed ahead while making the reservation. We were the only camper, so had the entire place to myself. Night time was amazing, I wonder how many dialects the frog language has, they are all spoken around the pond!

Weekend Trip to Apple Hill Cabins and Camp Ground

Marie and Larry are kind, generous, and the real thing: Alabama homesteaders for generations. They decided to share their beautiful property with folks who are looking for peace and quiet, not frills and frippery. I walked the land every morning I was there after drinking my coffee serenaded by hundreds of bird. We enjoyed a bout of "severe weather" one evening, with thunderstorms and lightening and heavy rains pounding my little trailer. Larry and I had the chance to chat numerous times and I learned fascinating things about him and the history of the area. He and Marie even invited me in for a shrimp boil and catfish dinner. Now that's great hospitality. I stayed in site one, electric no sewer. But I think it's the best spot anyway since you can see the ponds and woods. I highly recommend Apple Hill and if I lived closer, I'd be back in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Poor but Proud Stables

I came back to Poor but Proud stables since my first stay there was so great. Again, everything was perfect. I love the animals. The cat who greeted me was the best part of my day. After driving ten hours, I am so thankful for such a reliable place to settle in and get some shut eye. So peaceful and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Bates Farm

Mary took us on a tour of the land and it was truly impressive. We are looking forward to camping here. We are allowed to find anywhere on the 45 acres to put down and set up. They will bring us a picnic table and fire pit and sell us wood since we are on motorcycles. Bath house is on-site!

Weekend Trip to Parksland Retreat

This was our second trip to Parksland and staying again in the C1 Cabin. It was even more magical than the first time! The hosts are wonderful souls and this place of peace is just a really lucky find. The cabin itself is secluded, yet close enough to amenities to be convenient. We love sitting on the porch and enjoying a quiet sunrise coffee. We think you will too! Highly recommend!

We had such an amazing trip! Very quiet and peaceful! The pond was stocked with fish and had lots of fun catching fish. Leigh and the other workers were very helpful and quick to respond and deliver supplies!

The inside space if the teepee was bigger than we thought. It was warm and cozy. The main area had hammocks that we enjoyed, as wellbas games and other cozy places to sit. The man was very nice and helpful. They brought us a wheelbarrow to carry our things. It was really cute. We liked it. You would like it.

Nice open space with a country vibe. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others, especially with kids and pets, as the trails, pond and fenced area are a great bonus! There is a Highway close but you get the peace and privacy that you don’t get in comparing it to RV parks on a highway.

1 night at Bohamia - Glamp/RV/Camp

Bohamia was a great overnight pit stop! This track of land is amazing! Make sure you take the trail(s); they are state park worthy! And the caretaker was quite nice, as were the facilities.

Weekend Trip to Pondview Acres Campground

The view, pond, land, COWS! Everything was amazing! Even ducks was there😍 We was planning fishing there, but couldn’t… couldn’t because of view was so beautiful! I wish we could stay there longer, I hope soon we will be back for more days. We felt very safe there, which is very important. The owners-Tracy and Angie was super welcoming and nice! Thank you a lot!

Camp Travelhick is located off an easy on/off main road. A small private driveway leads to an automatic 20' wide secure, coded gate. The camp has two level camping sites. Site 1 is a large 40x62 cement site that can accommodate larger campers/motorhomes with full hookups (electric, water, & sewer). Site 2 is a smaller packed gravel site which is 16x32 with electric and water. Both sites have 50/30/amp connections. For your convenience, there is an additional dump station on the property. Our camping area offers a covered pavilion with two picnic tables, lighting, fans, and a charcoal grill. There is also has an outdoor fire pit for those cold nights or for s’mores! The camping area is about 1.3 acres fully fenced in so pet owners can allow their pets run around and have some secure space without having to worry about a leash. Bring your ATV's or side by sides! The back side of the property has almost 50 acres of ATV and walking trails. A spring fed private 1.5 acre stocked pond with a covered and lighted boat/fishing dock is also located on the property. Covered fishing dock has benches for getting out of the sun and relaxing. Property is less than 15 minutes from a Walmart, Lake Eufaula, many chain/local restaurants, parks, and museums.
