When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.
The cliff walls of the Verde River offer clear and distinct sedimentary layers, and the frequent flooding of the massive sandy riverbed reveals countless undiscovered treasures.We gladly welcome pets, including horses, as long as the guests inform us of their presence, and takes care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess.
There is a professional horse-boarding field and stables adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders to follow the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood if they so desire.
Please remember that this is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde Ripparian Greenway and the Verde River. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.

We are a family-owned RV park and tiny home village located 50 minutes from the east entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and only 20 minutes north of Flagstaff, Arizona. Our family -- Adam, Shelley, Zoe, Ava, and Cairo -- purchased the RV park in 2021. The property was a trading post for decades but had fallen into disrepair. We have been busy painting, cleaning and improving the grounds to become a comfortable oasis for your family. Our location on US Hwy 89 on the east side of the highway is only a few miles from the breathtaking aspens of Lockett Meadow, the ruins of Wupatki National Monument and the lava flows at Sunset Crater. The park is a short drive to downtown Flagstaff, and on the way to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Moab and Durango. Stay the night or as long as you like! Drink in the hibiscus sunrises above the Painted Desert and relax into the long shadows of the San Francisco Peaks. Almost “glamping,” our family and pet-friendly RV camp is near Williams, AZ, "the Gateway to the Grand Canyon." This is a great place to begin your Northern Arizona adventures, gather with family and friends, rest your body and spirit, or stop over on your road trip.
THIS IS A UNIQUE SITE AND WE WANT OUR GUESTS TO BE HAPPY AND COMFORTABLE. PLEASE REVIEW THE FULL SITE DESCRIPTION and AMENITIES BEFORE REQUESTING A RESERVATION.
Unlike typical RV parks, we offer a full acre for your private camping experience; you do not have to share this site with others. The area is fully fenced so you, your well-behaved dogs and kids can run free. The privacy and amenities – somewhere between “rustic” and “glamping” – make Rogue’s Rendezvous a unique space and an excellent staging ground for gatherings and area adventures.
Rogue’s Rendezvous is off the beaten path but easy to access (on a well-maintained dirt road) and close to many area points of interest. The property is located off Historic Route 66 (Interstate 40) between Williams and Flagstaff, and an hour south of the Grand Canyon (south entrance). We welcome clean, respectful campers to enjoy our "happy place."
The property is in a shady and quiet pine-studded development and is accessed via an automatic gate. The site is gently sloping with red earth driveways and has three spaces to easily park various RV types with hookups (including electrical and septic only, no water); the RV “carport” that is adjacent to the covered deck can accommodate RVs less than 13 ft high. Full instructions, the gate code, and a site map with hookup locations will be sent with check-in instructions.
NOTES: Know before you go!
- Cell and Internet Service: This area is somewhat remote, but does have limited cell service – calls are ok, texts work, but texting images or media may not be possible. There is NO WI-FI or internet service here. This is a great opportunity to disconnect and enjoy being “off the grid.”
- Elevation: We are at an elevation of approximately 6400 feet. Take care of yourself to avoid altitude sickness! Drink lots of water, rest plenty, and pay attention to your body.
- Weather: The weather can change dramatically throughout the day and the year here. Please come prepared for anything, and please check expected conditions prior to camping. Winter conditions may prevent site access between October and April.
- There are train tracks nearby (approx. ¼ mile away), and we can hear the humming of passing trains, both during the day and at night. We do not find it problematic (our kids don’t even notice) and some of us find trains fun and exciting (we enjoy watching the train crossing a couple of miles down the road). However, if you are sensitive to noise, this might not be the right place for you.

The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. Sun & Moon Geo Dome Retreat

It seems like nearly everyone who comes here says this is a peaceful place! It's like being out in the country whilst still being close enough to so many things, halfway between Sedona and Prescott, in a neighborhood with dirt roads and farm animals in which horses have the right away. The mountains are hypnotic. The air is clean. The stars are breathtaking. You can see the Milky Way on a clear night. The sunsets and sunrises are gorgeous and we see a lot of double rainbows here.
The dome is fully furnished for 4 people. Inside there's a queen bed, futon, clean linens, table w/chairs, portable a/c, electric heater; propane heater, lamps, microwave (for indoor cooking), ice maker, Keurig coffee maker, mini-fridge, USB & outlets for small devices (light electrical usage only), and WIFI is available. Plus a yoga mat, books, & a binder with food and sightseeing recommendations for the area.
Outside there's a picnic table, propane grill with side burner, propane firepit with comfortable seating surrounding. The clear dome windows are showing signs of aging, so the best star and sunset/sunrise viewing is outside. The outhouse building is equipped with a camping toilet, pump sink, and a camping shower (now heated!).
One towel per guest, grill utensils, cups, and plate ware provided. Bring disposables if you do not want to wash your own dishes. Most of the time guests are able to park next to the dome but sometimes, weather depending, it will be necessary to park and walk in about a hundred feet away from the dome.
Also on the property you'll find a walking path carved out through the trees behind the dome with a medicine wheel and labyrinth. The property is located in a rural neighborhood so there are other houses around, but at a far distance, with still plenty of privacy.
There are lots of animals like cardinals, hawks, owls, blue jays, roadrunners, hummingbirds, jackrabbits, cottontails, coyotes, and mule deer. Farm animals like donkeys make sounds in the distance which is pretty comical at times. There are occasional sightings of beer, wolves, and mountain lions.
The location is central to so many incredible places to explore. Within an hour each direction, there is distinctly different natural terrain to discover. Our local Mortimer Farm is 7 miles away and has a bakery (breakfast/sandwiches/treats), seasonal activities including pick your own food, farm dancing, and monthly farm to table dinners. We also have a local winery, golf course, café, pizzeria, subway and BBQ restaurant.

Overview
In the heart of Arizona's Red Rock Country, the cozy city of Sedona attracts outdoors enthusiasts, art lovers, and spiritual seekers with its mix of galleries, spas, restaurants, and—according to some—energetically charged vortexes. Even still, Sedona’s most striking feature is its fantastic landscapes, and there are plenty of excellent spots in the area worth exploring. Popular hiking trails include Cathedral Rock, with its red rock views, and Bell Rock and Boynton Canyon (both known for vortexes). Slide Rock State Park offers refreshing swimming holes right in the heart of Oak Creek Canyon.

Northern Arizona
Stretching across the Colorado Plateau, Northern Arizona is the lushest part of the state, with a mix of lakes, mountains, ponderosa pine forests, and desert landscapes. Sedona and nearby Flagstaff are both within this region's boundaries, as is Grand Canyon National Park. When to go
Sedona is at its busiest during the summer months, when it plays host to all sorts of cultural and music festivals. However, this time of year is also hot, and temperatures of over 100°F are common. If the combination of heat and crowds sounds less than ideal, consider visiting in early spring or late autumn, when temperatures are hot but not scalding. Winter is also a good option, when daytime highs hover in the 60s.
