Weekend Trip to Heartwood Mendocino
Heartwood was exactly what the Dr ordered - relaxing, so so so comfortable (that bed 🥰 those sheets 🥰), and just pure magic. Everything was curated to ensure our stay was amazing. The bathrooms were super nice and clean. The common area had fun games (beat my husband at Uno a few times 😌), the outdoor kitchen was super cute and looked easy to use (we didn’t get to use it since it was our 1st time in Mendocino and we opted to try all the local restaurants) and they had refrigerators you could place your perishable items in, which I thought was super thoughtful. The location is about a 5 min drive from the little downtown area of Mendocino and 10-15 min drive to the famous landmarks. It may not have had the ocean view but being surrounded by beautiful trees and a clearing where you can lay your blanket and chill by the fire, reading a book or just enjoying nature, more than made up for it. We loved it so much we’re already talking to our family about taking them here.

Amazing place! Our kids call it camp wonderful and did not want to leave. All facilities are clean and cabin was perfect for our family of four. The setting is amazing and kid friendly. Roasted s'mores, walked the gnome trail(just ask), and watched the slugs. We will be back again.

24 ft campervan
I was the only camper on the weekday night I went and that was lovely, so serene. I spent a few hours painting on the beautiful property. It was quiet, the most peaceful nights sleep I’ve had on this trip. Showers and facilities were great. The wild turkeys were intimidated by their reflection in my RVs bumper which was entertaining. Would definitely come back, I felt very safe here.

I stayed in cabin 5 with my family. It's beautiful campsite, very peaceful. Host has definitely put alot of efforts and made it very convenient for campers by providing all the facilities in the nature. Bathrooms were very clean. Outdoor kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and cookware.
If you're light sleeper or traveling with little kids may be consider staying in cabin other than 5. Since cabin 5 is closer to the bathroom and noise from fellow campers steps will make it little difficult to sleep.
But other than that this campsite is amazing. We loved it.

Entire property was gorgeous. LOVED The communal areas and amenities. Bathrooms and common areas were spotless. I tent camped and loved my site- clean, flat, and relatively private. All the cabins looked super cute as well!

Thank you very much for this pleasant stay. The host was very friendly and the surroundings very quiet. We were able to relax very well and enjoy the beautiful nature in the camp. The sanitary facilities were very clean. If you are looking for a peaceful, quiet place close to nature, you should definitely come here!

Hardwood is such a beautiful and peaceful piece. I visited two years ago with a friend and loved it so much that I brought my whole family back this year. We all had a great time surrounded by nature. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the outdoors!

Great spot to park my van overnight! Joseph was easy to communicate with and welcoming. The sight was easy to get to and having access to a hot shower was amazing during the cold rain. It was nice to sleep among the trees, would recommend!

Such an amazing place and stay. If you visit Mendocino this is a must stay. We have been here twice and it is great every time. Camping with just enough touch of convenience. Cabins are all beautiful and amazing, and the host is super friendly and does a great job making your stay wonderful.

We were so grateful for Joseph hosting us! We got a sweet little spot on a really well-maintained and very secure location. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We really appreciated getting to take a hot shower on a chilly morning. We would absolutely return again!

Such a cute place nestled in the forest but still close to town. We used the campsite but the cabins looked so cute too. Bathrooms were clean and had hot water which is a plus when camping. My favorite part was taking a shower in the redwood tree. It was so so magical & special. Would definitely recommend heartwood to everyone & would come back again. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Weekend Trip to Heartwood Mendocino
Tent was comfortable. Nice bedding and the heating pad was much appreciated. I liked the separate building with an inside dining area. It was warm and had a hot water kettle and a toaster oven tables and chairs. There was also a refrigerator, a small sink and some board games.
The bathrooms were clean, heated and each had a modern shower with hot water. Outside was a dish station also with hot water.
My favorite amenity was the outside shower. It had really hot water that didn't run out in the middle of your shower.
There was a nice community fire pit where guests gathered and enjoyed the evenings together. Everyone was friendly and gracious.
There was no Wifi, but that's what we needed. I'd definitely recommend this Hipcamp.

Weekend Trip to Gomde Buddhist Meditation Center
Gomde is a great place for a solo retreat from everyday life! The grounds are peaceful and the cabins are spotless, cozy and have everything you need to relax into your surroundings. I disconnected from work and instead immersed myself in nature, read, wrote, meditated and napped. I will make this place a regular for a digital detox.
