1 night at Delta Respite

I loved staying at the cabin. It’s so close to town, yet feels like you are far away in the countryside, with chickens and birds and trees all around, and the water is just a short walk away. Waking up to the sound of birdsongs and rustling leaves, without any noise from cars, people or airplanes, felt like a dream come true. It was also such a pleasure to meet the lovely hosts—and of course, sweet and friendly dog Willie! ❤️❤️❤️

Weekend Trip to Two Rock Country Farm Stay

I intended to stay for 2 nights, it turned to be 4 nights instead. I didn't want to leave this experience and return to the busy world. Life here was exactly what I was looking for.. serene, comfortable, quiet, feel safe, driving from the city was easy. Hosts were kind, responsive and respectful. I enjoyed everything about it. The RV was comfortable, I had everything I needed to make morning coffee, stove to cook, BBQ grill if I wanted to. My dog loved having a wide open space where he can run and explore. I love sitting by the pond and enjoy the firepit. I love fresh eggs less than 24 hours old from Debra's farm. I also got duck eggs and goose egg. The whole experience was awesome. I definitely will come back again. I felt comfortable, safe and relaxing. Thanks to Debra and her husband. For us it was just 2 humans and 1 dog but I can see it can be for a family with 2 kids.

3 nights at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

Our Tent Cabin had comfortable beds that kept us warm, dry and cozy during our 3 night stay at Sugarloaf Ridge SP, while our sons stayed in campsites nearby. There are many trails around, including a "Planet Walk" where you'll learn about our solar system and planets' relative distances from the sun. We saw waterfalls, lots of flowers, mountain vistas during the day, the stars and an almost full-moon at night. Friendly Volunteers help Park Workers lovingly maintain the beautiful campground and its many trails. There are small outhouses near each site; and, clean bathrooms and showers with hot water (a Quarter buys 5-minutes) at camp. Historic wineries (Kunde, Chateau St. Jean, Ledson, etc.) and many good places to eat are nearby. It was a lovely way to spend Spring Break with our family!

Such a tranquil place for me and my dog to refresh and rejuvenate from burnout and do nothing. You can see and hear different birds from treetops to ground floor-owls, blackbirds, chickens and roosters. I have a harmless bird dog vizsla lab mix and he loved it so much. The chirping was very Snow White and relaxing to hear. We even got the chance to meet Winnie the pig who was so super sweet. We left the back gate and were able to walk and collect our thoughts as we bird watched and enjoyed the view of Mount Diablo in the distance. The perfect do nothing place! I wish we stayed an extra day longer. It was cozy for me and my dog. The hosts were lovely, inviting, kind, and friendly. My dog loved their dogs.

Sirima and Walter were top notch hosts! I felt a kindred spirit with everyone I met on the farm. The setting is beautiful! Proximity to Bolinas (and Stinson Beach) are ideal. I was in a paddle boarder’s dream for three days! I chose to camp in inclement weather and their excellent covered dinning/cooking/bathroom amenities made it MUCH more comfortable even though I had waterproof equipment. Will be back with the wife ASAP.

We loved camping on a working farm. Sirima and Walter have created a wonderful place to be, with their sheep, chickens, bees and gardens and most of all their hospitality and gentle spirits. They shared their love of connecting with the land in a way that is fundamentally instinctive.

We loved camping here the last 4 days. It was so peaceful and Mr. Fox is the best host friendly and respectful! You can really tell he enjoys hosting. The days and nights were filled with animal sounds from a nearby farm it was a pleasant relief to the constant traffic noise that we hear in the city. Lots of space to roam with the puppies and we loved the baked treats, yummy! We will be back!!

Weekend Trip to The Foxes Family Farm

The small hideout was a perfect place for the girls to have a quiet weekend for bonding, sharing and plenty of laughs. The fire was a perfect place for s’mores and “mountain pies”. The host was the sweetest man and was so helpful with anything we needed. The hot fresh homemade apple turnovers were to die for. A sweet place to relax and rejuvenate. Great recommendation for anyone looking to chill with the comfort of home

Tent camping at a farm has always been a wishful thinking kind of thing. I didn’t know it was possible to stay at a farm so this was such an exciting discovery. The farm is beautiful and has a magical charm about it from the spacious camping grounds, to the common area which had a good size kitchen, lounging space, dining space, showers, a hot tub, and bathrooms with plumbing. We made full use of the kitchen. They have pans, dishes and other useful items if you were unable to bring any or enough. The hot tub was the perfect temperature. Be prepared for a cold shower though or you can ask for help if someone is available. Greg was very helpful with adding propane that we wished we had asked sooner. It was a treat observing the chickens, wild bunnies and quail, sheep, alpaca, and hearing the cayotes, various birds and frogs at night. I love nature sounds so sleeping was not an issue. If nature sounds aren’t your thing, bring earplugs or headphones. We especially loved how we could purchase farm fresh eggs in their barn via Venmo. Delicious as we cooked them for breakfast twice in a row. The town of Bolinas captured our hearts. We will be back!

We were greeted immediately upon arrival and given a tour. The location of the farm feels truly magical, especially a walk down the driveway and lookout across the water towards the mountains. Weekend Trip to Blackberry Farm

My wife and I stayed in the Quail Shed for a night and loved it! The bed was super comfy. It's basic (bed + desk) but was clean. There was no power, but we had lights and a lantern with us so it didn't matter. It was also located right next to the sheep field, so it was fun to watch them graze. The communal space had a hot tub, gas fire pit, bathrooms and shower, and an outdoor kitchen with enough to get by. Host greeted us, was super friendly, and gave us a quick tour. He even went and grabbed fresh farm eggs when we said we were interested in buying. Location was perfect - a quick 10 minute walk to Bolinas, so we went out for dinner before relaxing back on the farm for the night. We would totally come again and recommend. 5/5

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park Glamping

We have four lovely Glamping sites at Sugarloaf Ridge State Park and 25 miles of hiking trails, nestled in the glorious chaparral of the Mayacama Mountain Range and Sonoma Hills, deep in the heart of wine country. The cost is $150 per night on weekends (Fri and Sat) and $125 per night on weekdays (Sun-Thurs). There is a 2-night minimum stay required between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In our family-friendly campground, our tents are 16-Foot Canvas and come with a queen-size bed, futon lounge chairs (May be converted to twin beds), rugs, tables, lighting, and complementary firewood the first night. At no additional cost, we can add up to two twin beds to each tent upon request to sleep up to 6 people. 8 people max allowed at the campsite. The glamping sites include a picnic table, fire ring, outdoor seating, and room for additional tents if desired. All sites are easy walking distance to flush toilets and a bathhouse, with large, clean, coin operated hot shower rooms. There is no cell service in the park, but free WiFi is available at the Visitor Center. PLEASE NOTE that Bedding (sheets, pillows, blankets) IS NOT included in a standard rental, but is available as an add-on. Guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding whenever possible. If no bedding is added, we will assume a one-queen setup with mattress covers only. We kindly ask guests to provide at least 48-hour notice if bedding will be required. We will always try to accommodate last-minute requests, but we cannot guarantee this. PETS and SMOKING ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE our glamping tents! This is strictly enforced, and you WILL be charged a $150 cleaning fee for any violation of this policy. Parking: Your reservation includes parking for one vehicle. The family farm and residence were established during the late 1970s on the site of the historic Peter’s Dairy Ranch. The original farmhouse dates back to the late 19th century and survived the great 1906 earthquake. Today, the 7-acre farm is being restored to sustainably support fruit orchards, cottage flower and kitchen gardens, honey bees, a boisterous flock of chickens, and naughty shetland sheep. Our self-serve farmstand attached to our barn has seasonal flowers, organic eggs, heirloom fruit, and local goods from the farm. Whaleback Ridge Cabins & Camp

Welcome to our family land! We now offer 3 options for guests, 5 minutes from the Petrified Forest, and 10 minutes from beautiful Calistoga, mud baths, the restaurant and fun bar scene. I teach at SF State, and maintain hipcamp on my spare time to share an affordable option for travelers coming through our area, who appreciate nature and will respect our land. Our land borders Sonoma and Napa Counties, technically in Calistoga, and we boast gorgeous views and peaceful nature settings. We are a heavy nature camp: bugs, coyotes heard in the distance, etc. With the exception of Coral Cabin (which is full service), this is a "user responsible" site, essentially meaning Shaded Oak and Married Manzanitas are 'leave no trace' sites. I provide garbage bags, you pack your trash and take it to the lower garbage bins when you depart your stay. There are also supplied disinfectant towelettes, sprays and other cleaning supplies for a quick wipe down of surfaces when you leave, and if needed/preferred upon arrival. No cleaning service, no cleaning fee, guests responsible for cleaning up after themselves with supplies provided. If that's OK with you, read on! Thank you! Whaleback Ridge has 3 main sites that overlook “the Whaleback Ridge” to the North, named by my great-great grandparents who settled here 100 years ago. The top of the Whaleback Ridge is seen from the camps on the north-side far edge of our 34-acre property, and is accessible by trails (a hiking map will be sent to you upon booking). The lower, private sites, overlooking this ridgeline through the trees, are called the Shaded Oak and the Married Manzanitas - both are very rustic and outdoorsy. Shaded Oak is the only RV site (unless you rent Coral Cabin which has large flat area just outside), but is limited to shorter trailers with 4wd trucks only, or Class B RVs (see pics). The upper site, the Coral Cabin, shares the hilltop with our main house (there is a quiet, respectful family that lives there - close but private) and shared Hilltop 360 Station. Coral Cabin is the most outfitted, and is the most accessible - but also with an compost toilet outhouse, outdoor shower, sink, etc. The Coral Cabin has the best views, but everyone can also access the views by walking up to the Hilltop 360 Station, which is technically a shared space, but campers will likely have it to themselves. *We have a 14-year old dog at the Hilltop 360 Station! She is a husky-akida mix (her name is "Beautiful"), she lives in the main house with her mom and has a dog door to come and go to everything she needs. She will bark at you at first, but please don't be alarmed - she has never bitten anyone and she makes friends quickly if you call her by name and are friendly. She also loves other dogs - only been aggressive once with a dog larger than her who was aggressive. She might become your best friend, as she is very sweet the second she warms up to you. Overview of Sites (more details in site descriptions): Shaded Oak ($59/night 4ppl, more $10 each), smaller RV accessible**, a prime tent spot, propane fire ring, compost toilet "throne" at your site. Tables and chairs. Water provided for hand/dishwashing; b-y-o drinking water. Shower at shared Hilltop 360 Station. **(trailers over 10 feet likely need 4WD truck pulling it and be skilled at backing in; teardrop trailers & Class B RVs are optimal size and relatively easy to back in). Married Manzanitas Camp and Cabin ($79/night up to 6 ppl), walk-in OR high clearance vehicle only, 1 large tent spot AND access to 2-person camp cabin. Tables and chairs, 2 adirondack loungers, gas stove and limited cooking/eating utensils. Water provided for hand/dishwashing; b-y-o drinking water. Private/exclusive hot outdoor shower with redwood platform and riverstones - fed by hose at hilltop (you will have to walk up to turn on the right, red hose 1/4 turn). Compost toilet "throne" at your site. Camp cabin included! Bare bones, comes ready to throw your sleeping bag or put your own sheets and pillows on the full bed (very comfy futon) - or pitch a tent and use the cabin for storage or to chill out - or both with a larger group. Coral Cabin ($109/night +$30 cleaning, up to 2 ppl, more $10 each to pitch tent/RV), drive up to doorway, direct access to Hilltop 360 Station (kitchen, shower, tubs). Cabin has electricity, AC unit, wifi access, TV with Roku, comfy loveseat. Enjoy some interesting books. Bed comes freshly made and there is a cleaning service so no need to tidy up on departure. This is our "glamping" cabin with amazing views and walks, outdoor amenities, compost toilet just outside the cabin, hilltop shower steps away. $30 cleaning fee goes directly to cleaner. Hilltop 360 Station: a shared space (only if there are other campers) has: Outdoor kitchen with stainless countertop, running water, propane grill, electrical outlets, and wifi - access to shed with microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge with freezer, lots of plates/cookware/silverware to use. Games and books! Gas campstove is in the yellow shed attached to outdoor kitchen area. Hammocks in camp station can easily be clipped on to take a load off; second hammock also available in treehouse. And there's a swing to enjoy! Shower/tubs: The on-demand propane heated shower is right in the camp station, guarded by a privacy barrier all around except the lookout over the mountain. If you want a hot tub in either the private smaller tub or larger tub next to it, contact Dan ($10 as 'extra' if desired). Hot water turns on automatically when you turn blue dial at base of water pipe to heater. Compost toilets: there are separate seats for #1 and #2; #1 is PEE ONLY on the LOW SEAT (or blue commode at lower sites) and is over an open pit - don't put used TP here... and #2 is POO only on the HIGH SEAT atop the throne, you can put all TP here, and after your #2 ADD a scoop/layer of MULCH/DRY LEAVES (NOT DIRT) over it to completely cover sight and smell. #1 in lower seats can be covered with a scoop/layer of dirt OR leaves. Again, mulch/leaves should fully cover any sight and smell of your biz after using the thrones. Garbage: Please use the trash bags provided, tie your trash bag, and on departure deposit tied bag in the FARTHEST grey bin from the "5895" mailbox. Recycle can be deposited in the blue bin. Thank you! Other notes: You may need to rinse dishes, etc. before use as dust and spiderwebs accumulate up here. Feel free to use cleaning supplies to evict any daddy-long legs if they bother you. Want some activities? Kayak and all gear/2 life vests/ratchet strap to tie to roof ($20); tennis rackets/balls for court in town ($10); 2-4 person tent ($10/night). Games and books are free to use! - please replace as you found them. *In emergencies or stuck cars, our resident at the main house can usually help with his truck - after work hours - for a $15 emergency help fee if he's available, and has graciously done so before. Venmo him directly. But remember, Dan is the main point of contact by text and I can ask him for help. If you need WIFI to send a text, you can connect at the Hilltop 360 View Station. Wifi Info is on the google doc that I will send to your phone or email upon booking; I recommend downloading the doc to your phone in case you don't have service:) *Steer clear of the neighbors down the hill - the first house you see when you drive up the driveway. They are my cousins, and not part of hipcamp. Please do not approach the lower house or invade their privacy. This is a beautiful, serene, and peaceful spot! Fishing offers trout, catfish, big and small mouth bass or perch. Visitors can also see the Folsom Powerhouse (once called "the greatest operative electrical plant on the American continent"), which from 1885 to 1952 produced 11,000 volts of electricity for Sacramento residents. For cyclists, there is a 32-mile long bicycle path at Beals Point that connects Folsom Lake with many Sacramento County parks before reaching Old Sacramento. The park also includes Lake Natoma, downstream from Folsom Lake, which is popular for crew races, sailing, kayaking and other aquatic sports. At both locations, you will stay in 16ft deluxe tents. Each tent has 2 full beds in them. At Beals Point we offer "Luxury" Glamping with real furniture, cozy bedding, and all the amenities you need for a relaxing and fun filled stay for up to 8 people (AT BEALS POINT ONLY!). At both Beals Point and Peninsula, we also offer "Basic" Glamping, where we bring the tent and mattresses, and you bring the rest. This means that you need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bags, blankets and other camping essentials. Close by the sites are public restrooms with running water, drinking water, and showers. Hiking trails are found all around at both locations. At Beals Point you can rent kayaks, visit the snack bar, or take a dip in the lake- whatever suits your needs can be found close by!

Welcome to Wise Oak Farm, a unique tiny house compound on 5 acres located between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. The stay area consists of four buildings, the main one being a super cozy tiny house built on a 16' trailer, filled with custom woodwork and unique details. It sleeps up to four and has a kitchen (sink, microwave/oven, mini fridge, and propane stove) and small dining area. Immediately adjacent is a luxury "outhouse" with full sized hot shower and a composting toilet. There is an additional converted farm shed with a pull out couch and TV to relax comfortably indoors (the "rec room"). The outdoor area consists of a breakfast patio and large barn with couches and dining table. We are just starting to develop the property as a working farm. Currently we have a dozen chickens, 30+ fruit trees, and cows pasturing in the main field. The location is fantastic for exploring the area. In the middle of wine country, it's only a thirty minute drive to the coast or to the redwoods, and one hour from San Francisco. Plus easy access to the bike path leading to both Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Weather issues: The tiny house has heating but no AC, which is not normally an issue unless daytime temperatures are in the mid 90s or higher. Summer nighttime temps are usually in the 50s and the space cools rapidly with windows open. The rec room has both heating and AC, which can be slept in in the case of extreme temperatures. In the winter, heavy rainfall can make the stay unpleasant as you need to move outside frequently between buildings.
