North Florida RV road trips lead to surf beaches, coastal wetlands, and national forest campgrounds.
Whether you’re surfing and wildlife-watching along the Atlantic Coast, kayaking around the wetlands in the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, or hopping out of your RV to hike and horseback ride in the Ocala National Forest, North Florida is brimming with outdoor adventures. When the mercury rises in summer, the northern Atlantic coast makes a safe bet for a beach break (hurricanes rarely reach the far north), and the sun still shines through winter (although it’s chilly at night, so you’ll be glad to cozy up in your RV). Campers are spoiled for choice around St Augustine and Jacksonville, where you can take your pick of coastal Hipcamps, state park campgrounds, and RV parks with full hookups. Perhaps park right by the beachside at Little Talbot Island State Park or Amelia Island State Park, or choose between the developed campgrounds and dispersed camping in the Osceola National Forest.
