The name comes from the roots that stretch throughout the property with the TREEs providing a sanctuary for all who come to rest. Our little piece of paradise has so much serenity with a fully wooded landscape while its only miles from fun things to do: surfing, biking, hiking, boating, fishing, paddling, swimming and more! If you're lucky enough to experience the wildlife that shows up regularly, you could have the pleasure of seeing wild animals like: turkeys, deer, pigs, armadillos, hawks, dragonflies, butterflies, turtles and many others. We're proud of our oasis and thrilled to share it with folks that appreciate protected land as much as we do. The land is part of the resource corridor, which is protected wetlands and it is environmentally sensitive and ecologically significant. This means that it is an ecosystem that supports the wildlife and cannot be touched or manipulated in any way. Lucy's place is our community space for you and your family's use. It has lots of seating, plenty of places to relax, a grill and outdoor sink for cooking, and a gas fireplace to enjoy the scenery at night. A hot tub awaits you, which is open to the stars and great after a day of lounging or fun out and about. We'd be honored to share what we consider to be heaven on earth with you. :-)

We are one mile south of the NE FL Regional Airport and it's not unusual to see a biplane practising barrel rolls for an air show. We are 30-45 minutes from Jacksonville, the nation's largest city by area, and 15 minutes from downtown St. Augustine, the nation's oldest continuosly occupied city. Camping is easy with access to our shed with washer, dryer, fridge, stove, dishes, coffee pot, toaster and blender. We're one block off US1 and 10-15 minutes by car to beach and downtown. Hang out around our stone fire pit or sit at our 6 person table with solar powered lighted umbrella. Wifi, electric and water included. Porta potty and outdoor shower with 8 gal. hot water tank. Very close to the amazing Blue Springs State Park (manatees), Lake Beresford Park, St Johns River, Ocala National Forest, DeLeon Springs, SkyDive DeLand, and less than 30 minutes to New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach, 45 minutes to Disney and Universal. While on our property you feel isolated in nature, yet only 1.3 miles from Publix, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, and Chipotle.

For those journeying south via Hwy 19 through Palatka, it's advised to avoid turning onto Rodman Rd/Rodman Dam Rd due to its lengthy unpaved and unlevel roadway. Instead, continue on Hwy 19 to Salt Springs, turn right at E County Rd 316 for 10 miles, then make a right on NE 160 Ave Rd (Hog Valley Rd) for 11 miles. Finally, turn left into KOA Ocklawaha RV Resort for a smooth, paved route.
