Great spot for a one night stay on our way to Montana. Joy is super cool and generous. We stayed on a cold night in late Feb but made an adventure of it and loved the sauna! Driggs and Victor are awesome little mountain towns with cool stuff to do. Joy’s view of the Tetons is epic.

This was an amazing experience. Me and my brothers have visited this yurt a few times now and it has been great. This trip was the end of December and it was snowing like crazy! Julie went up the morning before we got there and turned on the heat and made sure we could get up there. She offered transportation for us if we weren’t able to make it in our vehicles. She is a great host and we love the yurt!

A quiet nice safe place to camp close to Twin Falls. The site was a little muddy and we ended up using our leveling blocks. They offered us their well water which was very nice but ended up it was too cold in the morning for us to use but we didn't really need it anyway.

Beautiful place loved all the Christmas lights! The Cabin was cozy and fit the family wonderfully my sister and our two dogs.

Great experience. Stayed six nights while up in area for deer hunting and visiting friends nearby. All the amenities needed for my stay. Host is very accommodating and quick to reply with any questions. Will stay again when I come back up.

Looking for a stopover place with plenty of parking space? Maybe our site will be a match for you and your RV! (If your rig is not fully self-contained, please note that we do not offer facilities of any kind. You will need a privacy tent for your own portable restroom.) Our house and shop and a few other outbuildings sit on 3.5 acres on a dead-end dirt lane, and we have space we'd be open to sharing with you. We have updated our listing (May 2024) to accommodate your preferably-fully-self-contained unit in our side yard area only (because of irrigation timing in the back-yard area, we are no longer offering that area for your stay). Your parking/dry-docking space in our side yard boasts several large trees and some shade. There are some branches to navigate but there is ample space to choose your perfect spot. The site runs alongside our driveway so our vehicles will obviously be visible from your parking spot but there is plenty of room there for your extra vehicle(s) in our driveway as well. This spot has very little privacy because it is set back from our dirt lane and in between our home and our neighbor’s shed (but they are family). But it is peaceful and safe (and we are very close to "town" and all the conveniences of such). Being almost next to the Snake River, and having a natural marsh just to the North of our property, mosquito repellant is highly recommended during certain times of the year. We are just a few miles (5 mins or so) from the freeway, Walmart, restaurants, and public access to the Snake River (boating, fishing, swimming), and golfing. We have three friendly dogs (lab, Yorkie, pug-chihuahua) but we have an underground fence system so they will generally be out of your area (with a few exceptions) and most likely in our house much of the time. (Must love dogs. ♥️) IF YOU HAVE DOGS, please keep them on a leash and clean up after them appropriately, thanks!

The campsite is off-the-beaten path so you'll be away from the crowds, yet the site is still close to other area attractions like Lake Pend Oreille (10 min. drive), charming downtown Sandpoint (15 min. drive) and Silverwood Theme Park (30 min. drive). The beauty and allure of Mirror Lake led to it being featured in two Hollywood movies -- Dante's Peak (1997) and Mel (1998). The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all 9 Sasquatch hiding throughout the campground? Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day. Fishing is best done in a canoe or small boat which can be put in at our campground dock (free) or at the nearby public boat ramp ($5 fee). You are in a forest on land shaped by the last Ice Age, The forest has nurtured generations of of wildlife including majestic birds of prey. This forest supplied timber to build railroads and homes for families in the western migration. Our family is the current steward of this forest and it is our wish to respectfully share its beauty and observe its wildlife with your family and friends! Our Forest is surrounded by Kaniksu National Forest which is managed by the United States Forest Service (USFS) as part of the Idaho Panhandle. National Forest.. The Moyie River ( say Moy-yay) has headwaters at Moyie Lake in British Columbia and feeds into the Kootenai River (say Koo-ten-e) just East of Bonners Ferry. The Moyie River is 95 miles long. The Retreat Juniper Tent/Van sites sit at the base of Green's Mountain nestled among the Junipers and Pinion pines. You will stay just outside the entrance to the City of Rocks National Reserve off the road that connects it to Castle Rocks State Park. Enjoy all the fun of camping under the stars with an amazing secluded location at the entrance to the City of Rocks. Enjoy Rock Climbing, Bouldering, Hiking, Biking, Fishing, and Hot Springs, all within a 5 minute drive! The Park is full all summer but you will have your own quiet base camp 2 minutes away. Sit around the fire pit at night and gaze at the amazing star filled sky. Sites 8, 9, and 10 are all in the same private forested area and great for groups but still separated for plenty of privacy. Each site has a level tent pad, parking area for a car or van (car/van camping ok), and access to potable water, bathrooms, and garbage. We have now added a 15amp plug to each site to provide power for things like phone and laptop charging, air pump, medical devices, or other basics at no charge. Camper vans, or other vehicles that want to plug in to the power will need to pay an additional $5/day electric fee. No EV charging. Parking is allowed right at camp but no vehicles bigger than a van (20ft), and no trailers. No mosquitos here! PET FRIENDLY! This land has been in our family over 100 years. One of Idaho's most iconic peaks, often compared to the Matterhorn, will transfix you in a picture-perfect view from this campsite. On a clear night, its rosy glow is the only thing you will see just before darkness. As the night darkens further you'll be dazzled by the brightest stars against the darkest of dark skies you will ever experience. Then you'll fall asleep to the peaceful sounds of the Lost River gliding by. In the early morning be on the lookout for the resident moose and her calf (Watch, but don't approach!!) or any of the many deer that ramble by. Then drop a fishing line into the river, just a few steps away, and catch yourself a trout or two for your breakfast. After breakfast, get out your binoculars, cameras, and maps (you did bring them, didn't you?) and choose your day's adventure, whether it be a challenging hike up a mountain trail, a leisurely stroll to a delightful waterfall, a 20-mile trip to world-famous Sun Valley via the stunning Trail Creek Summit, or exploring the largest designated wilderness in the lower 48 states. which is, literally, just on the other side of the fence! The road you enter the property from will also get you 20 miles deep into that wilderness along a broad river valley where you may see elk, moose, wolves, coyotes, foxes, beavers, deer, antelope, mountain goats, big horn sheep, black bears, and much more all thriving in natural abundance. Mountain lions are absent in this area, fortunately, but can be found in narrow, steep-sided canyons in other drainages nearby, if you dare.

In the early 1900's three sheep ranchers--August Broderson, James Fisher, and Isaac Leighton--each purchased residential lots in Weiser and built brick homes designed by Idaho architect H. W. Bond. This property, which we named Butterfield Farms, was built in 1915 by August Broderson, who emigrated from Germany to the US in 1892. Riverfront Base Camp

Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Be advised the highway and river are hazardous for off-leash animals and rambunctious toddlers. Please send a message if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
