Porcupine Creek Rustic Camping

Porcupine Creek Rustic Camping sits in the middle of our 50 acre Tree Farm. Campsites sit at the edge of small open fields are are spaced to give you the feeling of having your own space. We currently have two camping sites a Tree House and Camping Tent. The camping-related structures on our property are built with wood harvested from our tree farm and milled on-site. Deer regularly visit, the birds are constant company and other critters roam.

Accommodations include rest rooms, shower rooms (sites come with solar shower bags) fire pits and campfire wood.

Toddy Pond Farm

The land where Toddy Pond Farm is located has a rich history of farming, dating back to the early 1800s.  At present it is where a single family makes their home, working with the land and animals here to operate a small 100% grass fed dairy and diversified family farm.  Tucked away at the end of a dirt road, Toddy Pond Farm is a wonderful mix of bustling farm life and quiet natural beauty.  Hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, camping, and star gazing are just a few of the many activities our guests enjoy while visiting.Learn more about this land:The Toddy Pond Farm cottage is a warm and welcoming place rich with history and natural beauty.  Situated on a 500+ acre working farm, the cottage overlooks Toddy Pond and the mountains beyond.  Enjoy these views and those of the farm from the front screened porch, or pick blueberries from the back patio and listen to the owls in the evening.  Inside, the cottage has a full kitchen, 2 full bathrooms, full laundry and 3 bedrooms & sleeping nook; the master bedroom with a new queen bed downstairs and upstairs the cozy full sized sleeping nook with privacy curtains, the front guest room with a full sized bed and the back guest room with a twin.  In all, the cottage comfortably sleeps up to 7.  The cottage itself dates back many years - be sure to read the original walls with each visitor's hand-written messages.  In the living room / dining room area there is table seating for 6 and a couch and chairs near the wood stove.  There is no television in the cottage, but wifi is available.  The comfortable window seats have been known to trap a lazy afternoon reader into a blissful nap on more than one occasion.  Outside the cottage, feel free to explore the woods on several private hiking trails, or visit the farm animals of Toddy Pond Farm; a working dairy farm with sheep, goats, cows, pigs and chickens.  Feel free to stop by the dairy in the morning to see how the milking is done or come watch as we put the animals out to pasture for the day.  There is even a farm store where you can buy fresh milk, cheese, yogurt and even ice cream - all made right here on the farm in our Maine licensed dairy facility.If swimming, boating or fishing are what you enjoy then take a walk through the woods down to Toddy Pond and enjoy the private landing complete with raft, four kayaks and a canoe.  Over 1 mile of private frontage on the pond ensures complete privacy and quiet, though you will probably hear the loons out on the water.  Enjoy additional views on the Pond View Trail complete with 2 bridges as you walk along Toddy Pond in a loop back up to the cottage.If you are looking for a place to get away from it all without having to drive for miles and miles into the wilderness, then Toddy Pond Farm is the place for you. During your visit you will see and hear wildlife and all the other amazing sights and sounds of nature and yet the wonderful bustling seaside city of Belfast is just a 15 minute drive away with it's art galleries, natural food stores and numerous eclectic dining options. Barred Owl Farm Getaway

Denali, our farm hound, looks forward to greeting you. The sheep, pigs, and chickens will also enjoy seeing you. 

Our farm cabin has a great feel of being connected to nature.  It is quiet, cozy and a wonderful place to watch the sunset overlooking grazing animals.  The cabin has a queen bed in the downstair bedroom and another double bed in the loft.  The couch in the sitting room also folds-out to a double bed for the children. We use high-quality cotton sheets, pillows and down comforters - to assure you will be cozy and feel pampered. 

We provide coffee/tea service in the morning in our farm store.  By reservation, we serve a full country breakfast ($14/pp) and four-course farm-to-table dinners with many ingredients from our farm ($65/pp). 

By reservation, we also offer a special evening of our own chef-made wood-fired pizza, backyard fire and Downeast company. Many of the ingredients are from our farm. BOYB. ($50/pp; groups of 4 or more $40/pp) Discounts for families with children. 

The cabin does not have heat, electricity or running water. We provide numerous battery-charged lights and candles making this a is cozy, relaxing and perfect way to experience Maine farm life. An outhouse is nearby.  We provide an outdoor hot-water shower.  

Plan to visit our farm store where you can buy goat-milk soap, beeswax candles, organic wool pillows, sheep and goat skins and other creations made by Patti.

Loads of hiking trails are right out our door or wander down the gravel road. 

Visiting the animals (sheep, pigs, chickens and, of course, Denali - the farm hound) is always a highlight for guests. Please leave your own dog at home, thank you. 

 Chris is a proud Mainer and natural tour guide. He will be happy to provide you with his favorite recommendations and hidden gems.

For the past nine years, hundreds of people have enjoyed seeing the lambs, visiting our pigs, walking on our trails, and relaxing in a cell-free zone.

Deering Acres Campground

George Deering owned these acres and worked as a farmer in the early to mid 1900's, my parent's acquired the property in 1991 and it has since been passed on to me.

and only 12 miles to Camden and Rockland. Good Cellular signal.

Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure.

Among the hidden gems you might find

are a vernal brook, a distant field that is

totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart!

 Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. 

The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival and the Maine Antiques Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August.

Only one rental allowed at a time - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you!

Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. Should that take place we will credit you with a free day's stay.

WINTER CAMPING is available by request to experienced winter campers. If you are up to the challenge drop us a line.

Howling Goat Farm and Grange

Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends!Learn more about this land:Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide.  We are within 4 miles of 95 and  centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.
