2 nights at Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley

Joanna’s sites are beautifully and thoughtfully laid out. The airstream was comfortable and fun to sleep in. Joanna was communicative and helpful. We saw turtles in the pond, a barred owl, lotsa birds and deer walked by too.

2 nights at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

My partner, dog, and I stayed at the Kula Bata Tiny Kabin. It’s one of the first cabins on the property, separate from the rest of the rentals. However, we ended up having the entire property to ourselves. It was fun to check out the other rentals and hike around the acreage. The pictures don’t do the cabin justice! This place is really lovely. You can tell it’s been set up with a lot of care for all who visit. The sauna was fun and we enjoyed the fire pit as well. You must take the hike to the farm store. There were so many farm goods for purchase. We got steaks and grilled them back at camp. They were DELICIOUS! Be sure to bring some foil and cooking oil with you since we couldn’t find either in the kitchen- plenty of spices and everything else you may need to cook though! All in all, it was a treat to stay here. Super unique spot that will leave you feeling rested and restored.

Weekend Trip to Maple Corner Farm

My and my dog had a great stay at the Berry Patch campsite. The platform was perfect and the awning frame was great considering the weather during my stay. There was a rain forecast and the awning was perfect for my camping tarp. The surrounding area was great as well including the open field and various trails close by. My booking was out of season but David was very accommodating. I highly recommend this campsite. Thanks David!

Weekend Trip to Moon In The Pond Farm

Very nice property, each site is very private. Be ready to walk your things to the site. Dom has wheelbarrows to help move things which is great. Great experience, the firewood is a nice big bundle. We loved the animals on the farm too. No tables at the sites but there are some nice stumps you can easily use as a table. Thanks Dom

4 nights at Salamander Hollow Healing Habitat

Salamander Hollow is such a magickal healing place. The location is hidden away in the gorgeous mountain filled countryside of northern Massachusetts yet is thoughtfully curated by the hosts to include just about everything you need. My wife joyously spent all 4 nights in the very spacious tipi (even in a storm) warmed by her campfire while I got cozy by the wood stove in the cabin with the pup, sampling sections of the wonderfully eclectic books that lined the walls while jamming to whiskey blues streaming from the provided Amazon Echo Dot. Mary is an excellent communicator and provided us with a full itinerary’s worth of information and nearby points of interest which was a tremendous aid. There is an amazing farm stand nearby that we bought raw milk, artisan cheeses, eggs and from. The sacred medicine wheel and prayer circle across from the lighted koi pond were serene places to ground, center and reconnect. Plenty of cooking options available: brick pizza oven (!!), gas grill, 2 burner electric stove, electric coffee/teapots, full size fridge/freezer - wonderful setup. Mary even gifted us with a jar of the most exquisite, exotic honey I have ever sampled. I started and ended my vacation days with a mug of chai sweetened by that liquid gold and splash of raw milk from Chase Hill Farm. Heaven on earth- can’t wait to return!

I had an absolutely magical stay at Kula Bata Tiny Kabin InfraRed Sauna! The cabin is cozy and beautiful, and the sauna is such a nice feature, especially after a hike. The grounds around the cabin are beautiful, healthy, and peaceful, and there is deep meaning to all of the special touches in the woods around the place. I felt such a sense of flow in this place. It was healing, nourishing, and enlivening. I will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Woodland's Edge Glamping & Hot Tubs

Andrea was a great host to us during our short weekend stay. The space is homey and quiet despite being in a residential neighborhood. We felt safe and alone. I booked this site because of the bathtubs and began to feel very hesitant about it since we had a lot of wind, some rain, and it was exactly warm out. Once the time came to enjoy our soak though, it was soooooo worth it. We cut our stay a little bit short due to a steady increase of critters trying to get out of the rain but none the less had a wonderful time. We spent our days skipping around the local towns and buying everything in sight both edible and not. We’re leaving with full cars and bellies.

This tiny cabin is a wonderful spot if you need some quiet time to reflect, meditate (zafus were provided!), read, or write. It's well maintained and clean with great views of the woods, ample light, and privacy (even with no leaves on the trees). Using the wood stove was simple and the bed was super comfy! The cabin is also very close to DAR State Forest and other trails if you want to get some hiking in. Highly recommended!

One of the things we regret was only staying one night! I want to thank Mary and everyone else here that did such a great job at making our stay SO easy! The night before she sent me helpful tips, trails to hike, and food recommendations. My partner and I had no plans so when Mary shared her recommendations we ended up doing most of what she suggested. We hiked mount Tully, had dinner at boiler bar and grille and we visited local farm stands. The cabin had all the essentials to cook and clean with. We especially loved the zen room with the sauna. We also appreciated the personalized welcome note, the complimentary honey and some treats for our dog. The hosts really went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. We loved the cosy, quaint cabin so much and we REALLY want to come back. It was nice to unplug and get away from the hustle and noise of Boston. This cabin was a breath of fresh air. Can’t wait to come back! We told everyone about it!

We stayed for 2 nights during not so favorable weather but were able to enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounded us while staying cozy warm in the charming Library. In addition to the Library you have so much outdoor space to enjoy, including the dining area with the pizza oven as well as the cool Tipi set up! The host Mary is an absolute love. She was communicative from beginning to end and was sure to provide us with all the information we could possibly need. We can’t wait to come back during warmer months so we can enjoy the koi pond and spend more time outside exploring the trails surrounding the beautiful property.

This land was the homestead of the very first non native settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. Before that, it was the land of the Mahican native Americans. They named it "valley of the butternut trees", or Wyomanock. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Only 10 minutes from Cherry Plain State Park, Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm/ Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC is a 150 acre hidden destination for outdoor adventurers, families and solo campers. We are a safe place for women who are traveling alone. We ensure everyone's quiet experience by not publishing our actual address. Please note: We ask for photo ID. Once we receive your photo ID via text we will provide exact directions to our property. Please plan to check in no later than 4:30pm as we are not available for later check ins unless we agree to meet you. It is dark at 5pm so early check in is critical. We host NYS Police along with local police/sheriff deputies here through our organization Hearts in Hand Horsemanship LLC. Don't be surprised if you see a NYS trooper or police unit parked up in the field near the horses. Fires: We allow small fires in specific spots, namely the fire ring at Camping on Blueberry Hill, at Ft Sky and inside the Tipi. Campsite fires are allowed weather permitting, when it's not windy and must be kept small. If it's windy then you can still have a fire in the tipi. No large fires or bonfires. All fires must be completely out unless you are physically with your fire. We supply 5 gallons of water and more is available to drink, wash dishes and put your fire out. Please respect our rules. Fire safety is necessary to keep everything safe here for all of us. Thank you for understanding. Here in the mountains we can experience very cold nights. We supply a small pile of firewood for a small fire at no charge. If you like, you can gather more dead wood (not live trees) in our forests. Winter is coming soon. Please bring lots of clothes and layers. Stay warm! Smoking: We are primarily a non-smoking/vaping farm and appreciate you smoking/vaping in your vehicle not on our premises please. Partying: Nope not us. Our farm is peaceful and quiet and so are our neighbors. Please party elsewhere and come here to relax in the blissful quiet of nature. Quiet music, just playing some Spotify tunes and acoustic musicians are welcome here. There's a great bar restaurant 5 minutes from us, "17 Cherry Plain Sq". Live music, great food and something like 40 beers on tap. Party there then chill out here with us. Breakfast and the best beef this side of the Mississippi can be found at Gardners Cafe and Icecream Shop only 5 miles up 22 South from our place. You can enjoy a big fat omelet with homefries and bacon then grab frozen hamburg and steaks from Gardner's own local beef grown wild and free outside. Cherry Plain Sanctuary Farm is adjacent to miles of public forest. Peace and solace can be found in these quiet mountains. In addition to amazing hiking, backpacking mountain biking, road biking right from your Hipcamp site, with kayaking nearby. We are 10 minutes away from Cherry Plain State Park (which has a gorgeous lake and kid-friendly sandy beach), and even closer to the Taconic Crest Trail. Our location is nestled between the Taconics of New York, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Come share our paradise, bring your outdoor adventurer gear (you will be glad you did) and we will share our favorite local destinations with you. We ask that all hipcampers who are primary guests be 21 years of age or over. Children are welcome but we will not knowingly rent to anyone under 21 years of age. There is a $50 additional charge for garbage left at our farm including cigarette butts (we are a no smoking farm!), broken glass, bottles, cans, plastics, containers, bags and other trash. This is a pack in and pack out working farm not a party spot. Renting from us constitutes your reading of our rules attached to each property, your understanding and your agreement of our policies. Three miles away the town green offers shops, historical tours and restaurants. White Memorial Foundation is a 4000-acre nature preserve 4 miles away with over 40 miles of trails and so much more! Fresh raw milk, local eggs, and maple syrup are available on site for purchase. We provide ample fire wood for your campsite so you have one less thing to pack! Fox Farm Campground

Fox Farm is located on 8 magical acres in eclectic Brattleboro, VT. Pitch your tent in a sacred private white pine forest or closer to the trail-head with access to a charcoal grill, a huge fire circle and a picnic table. If you prefer a roof over your head, check Fox Farm Cottage @ Fox Farm. Located ideally on a trail-head that leads to the West River Trail (a 36-mile scenic trail through the West River Valley – eventually linking Brattleboro, Dummerston, Newfane, Townshend, Jamaica and South Londonderry) and the West River, offering opportunities to hike, fish, swim, ski, snow shoe and bike. The Marina Bar and Restaurant is a 2 mile hike or bike ride from the camp site (via the West River Trail) and is a fun way to see the beauty of Vermont and partake in some excellent indoor/outdoor dining with views of the water. Currently there are two areas available to campers; The Pine Forest and the Council of the Elders. The Pine Forest is a shaded circular area that is very spiritual and quiet. There are currently 3 camp sites in the Pine Forest. The Council of the Elders is a more open (again circular) area that abuts The Pine Forest and has a large fire pit as it's centerpiece, surrounded by the Elder Pine trees. I have had up to 2 campers and an occasional van/camper at the Council of the Elders. I have most recently had requests to book the entire Pine Forest for guests who are traveling together and want privacy- and Ido my best to work with people to accommodate any needs. Please bring your own firewood if you intend to have a fire. I offered wood to guests in the past when I was able but found that tricky to manage as there are times I myself am out of wood. There is plenty of felled wood all around as the property is surrounded by a dense forest and guests are welcome to gather that to supplement fire making. In my experience as a host, I have noted that folks come together and build mini-communities, share food, fires and is generally a positive vibe. Some come for privacy and solitude, which has not been an issue thus far. All in all the energy is upbeat and folks make friends along the way- me too! Brattleboro is a funky, hipster town with many excellent restaurants and much to see and do. For winter enthusiasts Mount Snow is a 30 minute drive and folks can cross country ski and snowshoe right from their camp sites to the 36 mile trail. The Hipcamper can expect privacy yet easy accessibility to the homeowner for tips and ideas to support a positive experience. Campers may be greeted and visited my friendly Bernese Mountain Dog's, Loki Bear and Levi!

The cabin is nestled in the 1 acre of woods behind our home, protected by large old pines and surrounding acres of forest. Home to many songbirds, woodpeckers, raven, deer, porcupine and the occasional black bear. A true retreat. Small, rustic cabin with electricity in the woods behind our home in the hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. You are just 300 feet from the house, but while in the woods you will have complete privacy. The woods are filled with songbirds and there is a small platform for meditation. There is no wifi in the cabin, so enjoy the ability to disconnect from it all while connecting within. The hilltown region is rich with rivers and lakes for swimming, boating and fishing and forests for hiking. We are just 30 min to Northampton and 45min-1hour from the many cultural offerings of the Berkshires.

We have a private camping spot located down by the stream, and a van site which can accommodate cars, small RVs, and vans as well as tent camping. We are near a paved road with moderate traffic. The stream site is secluded, the van site is near the road and house. The property abuts many acres of woods and there are a number of great walking trails nearby. A half-mile walk behind the house takes you through the forest to an outlook on Leverett Pond. The Peace Pagoda is just a few miles up the road. Other nearby destinations include Cushman Market and Cafe, the Montague Bookmill, and Mt. Toby waterfall, caves, and lookout tower. Leverett Pond has a public boat launch nearby. We have canoes, paddles, and lifejackets available for rent--inquire for details! The area has excellent bike riding as well. We enjoy all these activities and are happy to share further destinations, routes, and suggestions!
