5 nights at Paquin Farm

I spent 5 nights taking care of things in Minneapolis before flying back to Europe. It is a very nice and quiet place. It was easy checking. I had access to water and portable potty was available. A bit far if one needs to go the twin cities but the traffic was never bad at all. Thank you for making my stay easy.

1 night at Tumbleweed Base Camp

So many deer! I got in late, but David still greeted me and gave me a tour and was incredibly accomodating. Its a beautiful calm spot to spend time when you're alone, but if you go in season, I could see it as a fun bustling spot to make new friends.

1 night at The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

Speedy communication with Jon. The location was very quiet and lovely. We came in after dark and left quite early so I can't speak on details other than we will be staying here again!

1 night at Whippletree Farm & Nature Trail

Nice quiet spot for our travel trailer. Only a mile from the Gateway State biking trail. Will be back.

Weekend Trip to Gossman Goat Ranch

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It’s tucked back in the woods behind there main place far enough that you can’t see or hear anything from their farm… really makes you feel like you are alone in the woods! It was about 30 degrees overnight but the wood stove kept the cabin comfortable. We also like the extra touch of already set up hammocks, and a hand built bench by the fire pit. Great option for “camping” during the fall or spring if you don’t want to face the cooler temps in a tent. Hiked 20 miles between Forestville state park and lake Louise state park which are both close to the cabin site.

Weekend Trip to The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

Beautiful camping spots at the back of their farm, which is fun to drive through and see the different animals. Very secluded and Jon is great. Answers messages on the app quickly but has never bothered me. This is the second time I’ve camped here and definitely recommend it.

2 nights at Gossman Goat Ranch

My family and I (2 adults, 3 and 8 year old) loved staying at the cabin on Cathy’s goat farm. We arrived on an unexpectedly cold and snowy spring weekend, and I was afraid we were in for a cold and wet weekend. Not the case! The cabin was toasty warm (Cathy was thoughtful to warm it up for us in advance) from both an indoor propane heater and an enclosed fireplace. With that and the duvets we brought, it was a cozy retreat. Bonus points for the games provided and helpful supply boxes in case we forgot any essentials! Cathy is a friendly and thoughtful host. Definitely get the eggs from the farm chickens and special handmade goat milk soap (the scents are SO good). She let us have our space, but was right there anytime we had a question or needed help. Our bonus hosts - Cathy’s three kids - were also so kind and friendly to my daughters, and they had a bunch of fun playing on the trampoline, playground and around the property. The definite highlight of the trip for all of us were the goats and other farm animals! My daughter got to hold a goat kid that had just been born hours before, which was truely magical. Being able to hang out in the field with a huge herd of goats, a few calves, chickens, friendly barn cats and dogs really made the trip special. All the animals were so friendly! We’ll definitely be returning!

Weekend Trip to Alpha and Omega Pizza Farm

We had an absolutely wonderful time glamping at Alpha Omega farm. The tent stayed warm and cozy with a wonderful wood-burning stove, even during an icy windstorm. Kim was so welcoming to us and our dog Violet. The land was beautiful and peaceful, and we got to wake up next to cows, donkeys, and alpacas. Also, in the morning Kim brought us the best caramel rolls and coffee we've ever had! If you're looking for something fun and different to do close to Minneapolis, I can't recommend this place enough. Truly a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back! Thank you!

Weekend Trip to Kinni Croix Farms

Amy’s property was so wonderful! It was quiet and private, yet just a short hike to the bank of the St. Croix river. There is a lot of open, flat land and also acres of trees and wooded trails on the property. Just really lovely!

Love the wood stove and outdoor cooking firepit! Mike was AMAZING! The cows and dogs were super cute. The trails were beautiful and very hilly! Honestly they're very private sites also! Bed was comfy, deck was perfect - I enjoyed watching the bird feeder. Really a super great energy here. Would definitely go back!

Weekend Trip to Trails End Retreat

We had an amazing early-season stay at Blueberry Lane campsite in Hinckley, MN! The moment the road was passable by truck and trailer, we headed out—and it was well worth it. The campsite was clean, secluded, and absolutely beautiful. It felt like our own little slice of peaceful Minnesota wilderness. Our hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. You can tell they really care about the land and the experience they're offering. If you're looking for a quiet, nature-filled getaway, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back for another visit this summer!

Weekend Trip to Frickson Family Farms, LLC.

We loved our stay at Frickson Farm, the cabin was perfect! We loved stocking up on meat and goods from the farm store. It’s near the highway but very quite and peaceful and the stars were beautiful.

We absolutely loved the setup of the tiny home! Wood stove kept us warm and cozy while the snow fell outside. Awesome patio area so we cooked all of our food over the fire pit which included a handy movable grate. Having firewood included was so nice. The 3 miles of hiking were enjoyed greatly by us and our dog!

Weekend Trip to Gilles Family Dairy & Woodland

Rock Bottom Cabin exceeded our expectations in every way. If you don’t like long reviews, then just go ahead and book it - you’ll love it. We were bummed to only be able to stay one night but plan on returning. It’s hard to know where to even begin! Firstly, communication with Mike, our host was excellent. He shared a thorough message of what to except upon arrival, clear directions. When we arrived to his property, we were greeted by many curious cows and then he promptly greeted us on his tractor. With 2-4 inches of snow in the forecast, Mike suggested he give us a ride down to the cabin, rather than us driving our RAV4. We felt confident, but he wanted us to be safe and ultimately glad he offered us the ride. Bonus for a fun tractor ride sitting in the bucket up front. The site is situated on a flat clearing in the woods, surrounded by large oaks and maples, very peaceful. He walked us through the cabin, its amenities, directions on the wood stove and highlighting hiking trails on the paper map he printed for us. From then we were left alone, enjoying the miles of trails around the site. We hiked for about 2.5 hours until sundown and 2 hours in the morning and were able to cover a decent amount of the trails. The hikes were beautiful and all offered their own experiences, views, etc. The cabin was extremely clean, very well constructed and comfortable. We’ve stayed in similar cabins that have bugs or rodents or air gaps but this is built very nicely - not even draft

It was peaceful, safe and well maintained. The owners were great. I bought some eggs for breakfast and some firewood. I'm definitely coming back.

This site was ideal for a quick mindfulness stay. I heard a number of coyotes in the evening. As well as watching a couple of beavers work tirelessly on a huge oak tree. Fascinating rodents. I heard them around 2 in the morning. Quietly got out of my tent and crawled to the edge of a pond and there they were. I’ll be going back and I will recommend this site to my friends and family. And having free firewood to gather was an added bonus. Thanks Matt!

I’ve stayed here multiple times! I love this spot for its stargazing, beautiful sunsets, and privacy. You can’t see the house from the spot so you don’t feel looked in on-except by the cute goats in the pasture next to the site! They were adorable and stared longingly at me and my pup in the morning. I’m looking forward to staying here again!

Nice camp set up with water and electricity. Smooth entrance and exit for our 28' travel trailer. Andy responded quickly and ensured we were all set up even though we arrived after dark. Only downside is I-90 is just across the field and highway noise was a part of the stay. Thanks much Frickson's.

Pets are allowed at the sites, but for safety please be with your pet or have your pet on a leash when here. When local or Statewide fire bands are in effect they will apply to all campsites. We are a small family farm. From April-October we make a living on the farm and enjoy rural life. We’re very busy during these months and if you stay with us you may be able to enjoy fresh produce for purchase- we also have neighbors that sell eggs, there is a Meat shop in downtown Lindstrom and 2 miles away is Rod's Country Corner (ice cream, pizza, sandwiches, essentials). So, you could have the opportunity for some delicious camp food while staying here. It is very beautiful with much to see and do. Things to note: 1. There are black bear in the area, please keep food stowed away in your car at night and your campsite clean. 2. Storms pop-up and tents etc. are subject to wind, please be mindful of the weather and any incidents that occur are not liable to the property owners. When you arrive pull up in the driveway we will direct you to your location... and please park your vehicle close to your site. When you are tent camping this can come in handy during any inclimate weather, which can pop up randomly during the summer months. We have a rustic composting toilet for guest use. Please read the instructions on the inside before using. This is a working farm, it can be unkempt or messy- it is also mosquito forward and wood tick forward-please bring bug spray. Many of our past campers have enjoyed the scenery despite being next to a slightly trafficked road. Also, fireworks are very popular with the neighbors in the area around July 4th. Welcome ; Located in southeast Minnesota's Driftless region of hills, valleys, fields and forests, we are a grass based working dairy farm with over 100 acres of woodland, including an extensive trail system and campsites in our wooded acres. What makes this woodland special is it's quiet, secluded setting and over 6 miles of hiking / skiing trails. Our farmstead sits three quarter of a mile off the paved county highway on our well maintained gravel driveway. Each of our campsites are secluded from the others with their own sawdust compost toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces, and firewood. Two of our sites require 4WD with a minimum of 6 inches ground clearance to access, and two are accessible with 2WD. If you do not have 4WD we can help transport your gear while you enjoy the walk in. There are plenty of woodland birds, deer, turkeys, raccoons and squirrels sharing the woods with you. At night it is common for owls to visit the campsite area to say hello, and coyotes talking in the distance. The winding trails through 100 acres of woodland offer a variety of woodland habitats, from Old growth Maple to mixed hardwood, to dense brush, to the edges of open pastureland. Bring your fat bike or mountain bike for an enjoyable ride. For winter users there is a mix of easy, moderate, and challenging winter cross country skiing or snowshoeing / hiking on the property. However the Rock Bottom Cabin is our only heated and insulated site and is available for winter booking. Winter access is walk in only with snow on the ground or in the forecast. We can help transport gear. This property is part of a working pasture-based dairy farm and guided tours of the dairy and cattle are available when scheduling allows. Children 12 and younger are free at our campsites. No need to be counted as guests , but please let us know when requesting to book. We do not allow non-booked visitors to our campsites due to the secluded, remote location, and accessibility.

The Oaks at Oakwood Farm

Enjoy 10 acres shared between 2 sites! The two campsites are large and can accommodate approximately 6 tents comfortably at each. If more is needed let us know we have room and can accommodate. There is a shared bathroom/changing room and trash/recycling between the sites. There is a water point in the barn if you need to fill up on drinking water just make sure you have a container for it. Site includes a picnic table and firepit and many acres with downed trees to salvage. Bundles of firewood can be purchased if needed. This area includes a back pasture and woods with trails throughout for walking/mountain biking. There are many horse trails in the area, if you want to bring your horses that is fine as long as you bring containment for them and clear it with us first. We are approximately 1 mile from a rum river access. There are multiple river trip options from our property. We are also 3 mins from lake george and the Rum River Regional Park for swimming, biking, fishing, boating, and more paddling. There is a Bills gas n grocery as well as a G-will liquors less than a minute from the property. The Ponds golf course is about 4 mins away as well. If you are looking to hit downtown Anoka that is a straight shot and approx 12 mins away. This site is on an active hobby farm that has dogs, cats, horses, chickens, goats, turkeys, and multiple gardens. We have a farm stand by the road where we sell items such as fresh roasted coffee, eggs, BBQ sauce, pickles, maple syrup, hot sauce, and more! We are very pet friendly and like to meet new furry faces, so feel free to bring them along!

Paquin Farm

Spring has arrived and the farm is ready to enjoy! We are a small hobby farm that's located within one hour from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Our farm has wooded trails, bonfire pits, is quiet and very peaceful. Our little town is 10 minutes from most shopping, with multiple restaurants minutes away. We offer multiple locations to camp on the property. There is a concrete pad with (2) 30-amp electric and (2) water hookups. The 2 sites with hookups are very level and easy to park on. There are many other areas to park and camp, with access to water for filling up tanks, and an outhouse for bathroom needs. Beanbag toss, basketball hoop, and ladder game are available upon request. Firewood available for a small fee. Pets are welcome, but must be leashed and under owner's control at all times when outside. Maximum of two pets per site. The sunrises and sunsets are absolutely amazing with wildlife all around to gaze at and enjoy.
