Often bald eagles can be spotted at both lakes. Other wildlife you may see: deer, wild turkey, raccoons, opossums, fox, bobcat, coyote, rabbits, armadillo, otter, and squirrels. Please do not approach the wild animals! There is a pretty creek for those who like to creek walk. Petrified wood can be picked up in the creek bed. We are only 30 minutes from the University of Mississippi campus for people coming for ballgame weekends. We are only about 20 minutes from Grenada and Enid Reservoirs. These have some of the finest crappie fishing in the United States. We are located 2 miles east of the Trans America Trail.

The lake used to be horse pasture until the breeding operation halted and the lake was built. A small slice of heaven on earth, the star gazing is phenomenal on clear nights. The cicadas, crickets and bullfrogs create a natural sound machine for restful nights. We are just 15 minutes from 1-55, and 18 minutes to the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway for traveling and cycling. 20 minutes to the Reservoir for large scale fishing, boating and water sports. Level gravel parking area with electric and water availability is right next to our barn. There are bugs (it’s nature) in the spring/summer/fall so please bring bug spray and be prepared. We use Mosquito Spartans to help keep mosquitoes in control.

Gravel is only provided at the entrance area, encircling the metal shed. Any driving off the gravel runs a risk of getting stuck in the slippery clay/mud. Rainwater barrels and 110 electricity are available at the metal shed.
