If you're looking for adventure in Big Sky Country, head to Billings in south central Montana. Billings is the state's largest city and sits about 4 hours from state capital Helena. The mighty Yellowstone River runs along the city's east and south borders.

Yellowstone National Park is a three-hour drive to the southwest. If you're traveling by vehicle, definitely take I-90 to the Beartooth Highway to get there. This breathtaking scenic route takes you through gorgeous high-altitude alpine country. Stop by beautiful Beartooth Lake for waterfront tent and cabin camping on the way.

Are you coming to Billings in an RV? Billings Village RV Park makes a pretty convenient layover stop if you're staying in the city proper. Here you'll find 75 spaces with full electrical hookups and Wi-Fi. Lake Elmo State Park is also within city limits.
