TangleWood Creekside Campsites

23 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents170 acres · Marion, NC
A rocky creek winds through the woods at the base of several hikable peaks hidden just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wildlife enthusiasts are encouraged to explore, on foot or mountain-bike, anywhere within our 170 acres (or the adjoining 250 acres owned by the US Forestry Service off our Western border) and are likely to catch glimpses of turkey, beaver, deer, fox, eastern box turtle and the many species of songbird and raptor. The location is convenient to tons of local attractions for sightseeing and outdoor activities as well as shopping, dining, even wine tasting. We would be happy to supply a comprehensive list of the various local attractions upon request but the following are a few of our favorite things to do within a short drive: visit Linville Falls, Caverns, Gorge and/or Winery; drive the Blue Ridge parkway; tube/kayak down the Catawba river; hike beautiful Crabtree Falls; cross Grandfather Mountains mile high bridge and explore the nearby towns of Spruce Pines or Little Switzerland. The scenic drives to Asheville, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk make them each wonderful day-trip destinations.

Located only a beautiful 20 minute drive to/from the Greenbriar park entrance, roughing it has never been so comfortable. Choose from 4 tents! Heated tents, hot water showers, the works! This is a special place – a special ‘experience’ – and if you’re seeking an adventure, a chance to disconnect from the norm, embrace nature, and enjoy the tranquility of being off-grid in a beautiful setting, then Canopy Ridge is for you! All of our tents have their own private outdoor area with fire pit, outdoor showers, and are spaced out to afford you intimacy. This beautiful campground is in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee near the National Park. It’s secluded, heavily wooded with nearby walking trails. We have 4 safari tents; each with outdoor showers and sinks. This is an adult only campground with a community bath house, and grilling / coffee station. Our glamping campground was built by ecologists so with the exception of the bathhouse and outdoor kitchen area, there is minimal electricity.

The Lily Pad: Glamping with Sauna

1 site · Lodging8 acres · Weaverville, NC
Nestled in the lush Blue Ridge mountains, 15 minutes from Asheville, our eight acre farm was established in 1880 as a dairy and tobacco farm. Today it is a peaceful space where sheep and goats trim the pasture, ducks swim in the ponds, chickens lay eggs, and wild birds thrive. We are committed to a regenerative approach to vegetable gardening and land management. We continue to re-introduce native plants to the farm to create a health habitat for animal and human creatures. Inside the tent, you’ll find a very comfy full size bed, sling back leather chair, bookcase with a few of our favorite titles, and authentic cowhide rug. Nightly illumination is via portable solar lanterns and curtain lights for extra glow. The tent deck is a great place to stay a while. Watch the ducks, consider the moon, or step down onto a boulder and warm your hands by the fire. Turn on the twinkle lights. Actually grill a cheese sandwich. On chilly nights, the wood-burning stove will keep you warm and cast a wonderful flickering light. If you have never started a fire for warmth, this is your chance! We usually start the fire an hour before we turn in, get up once to add wood, and restart it in the morning to boil water for pour-over coffee and tea. As a glamping guest, you enjoy complimentary access to our sauna. The stove came from Finland, and the water comes from our very own spring. The sauna is great therapy after a long day of hiking, biking, paddling, gallery-hopping, beer tasting or wedding going. For cooking, we provide a fire pit with grill top, cast iron skillet, and basic utensils like tongs. Plates, bowls, cutlery, cups, mugs, are ready to go. There is a basin and dry rack for dish washing. A unique outhouse is just steps away from the tent. The outhouse is a replica of a scenic one-holer from Power Creek outside Condova, Alaska. Finishing touches include a crescent moon carved into the door and custom toilet seat art you will have to see to believe. There is a nearby carafe of water for handwashing.

It doesn’t get more Insta-gram than this! Escape the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary with our glamping tent.Nestled in a serene natural setting, our tent offer the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. Come Enjoy firefly season!! BEFORE YOU BOOK: 1. Guest Must be 21+ Years to Rent 2. During winter, the tent can be cold as it is not insulated. However, we provide portable heaters and heated blankets to keep you warm. 3. When you go glamping, it's important to remember to bring bug spray. Glamping is a luxurious form of camping, but that doesn't mean you won't encounter bugs. So, it's always better to be prepared and have bug spray on hand to make your experience more enjoyable. 4. The glamping site is located alongside the road. 5. There are some twigs falling on the roof of the glamping from a tree above, which can be a startling noise.
