Weekend Trip to Lake Labish Farm

This site gave me all I needed as I start my camping exit from Oregon. I would continue to support these folks on the edge of the urban/rural divide being able to continue their horse and flower farm but know it is not in any way a wild destination or remote. The nearby mall with Panera and Hops and Drops were both wifi spots that were convenient by bike about a half mile away. Thanks to Daniel, I would say that 'the north side of Target parking lot' means the road behind the target parking lot. Thanks

Weekend Trip to Rhoda's Joy

Rhoda's camping area was green, shady and quiet. She was very kind to us when we had a problem with our RV. By using Hipcamp's directions instead of relying on Google maps we found our campsite with no problem. The compostable toilet was clean and not smelly at all.

Weekend Trip to River Mountain Meadow

I loved the small pond, and so did my dogs! The large field was also very nice and freshly mowed. It is fairly close to the road / neighborhood houses, but still private enough for what we were looking for.

We enjoyed this quiet spot with a beautiful overlook of the valley. Crystal, our host, recommended an excellent restaurant, “Mason,” in nearby Sherwood which we really enjoyed.

ATT reception excellent, was able to stream live TV. Rock creek is beautiful. Very safe to leave camper unattended. Highly recommend if in the area.

My girlfriend and I had a really nice stay at Rhoda’s Joy. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by nature, making it a great spot to unwind. The space was well-maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable night. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the site. The hosts were friendly and made sure we had what we needed. Overall, a great option if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway.

Weekend Trip to GeerCrest Farm

Would highly recommend staying here. The location is perfect as well for visiting Silver Falls State Park (~20m) with the cozy town of Silverton being close by (8 min). Jim greeted us and was great to hear the amazing history around the farm. There are plaques around the property explaining some of the history and the land is so peaceful. A creek is near the Adler Meadow and when we were there all of the flowers were starting to bloom. The Alder Meadow faces west as well for a perfect sunset view with extra warmth in the evening. We'll be back!

Weekend Trip to GeerCrest Farm

Just book it! This historic farm has all the charm of a storybook with a rich history(there are information plaques all around the garden, orchard and cabins, so make sure to walk around). The cabins are well stocked with everything from ample outlets to extra bedding to kindling for your woodburning stove. Jim was such a warm and excellent host. While we didn't end up needing anything I'm sure he would have been more than accommodating 😁 Silverfalls is only 20ish mins away and an epic adventure. There's also a small town just a few mins away from the farm, so if you need anything you can just pop into town. I hope you stay here so you can experience the peace and beauty yourself

Amazing! Stay there! Our host was so helpful in accommodating. It's very safe for children! I have a mentally disabled child and I have no problems there. Very very quiet! If you want some peace and to get off the road this is the place to go. Even if you want to stay a little longer, as long as you're mellow quiet, peaceful person, this is the place to be! The RV site backs up to Southwest Community Park, 41.9 acres, an undeveloped nature park in the Southwest Gresham Neighborhood (East Portland). The Park is partially wooded and slopes east towards 19 acres of Fairview Creek Headwaters. Views include Grant and Jenne Buttes and Mt. St. Helens. The Park contains a large Western Red Cedar/Mixed Tree Grove and a Douglas Fir Grove, both of which are identified on the City’s significant tree list. The Park provides valuable wildlife and fish habitat, and will be preserved, protected and enhanced as part of the City’s conservation effort. Learn more about this land: This is a great neighborhood spot to park with full amenities just outside of Portland, while having immediate access to 40 wooded acres with walking path and .7 mi to the Springwater Trail for biking/running. 25 mins to downtown Portland; Easy day trips that are ~30 minutes drive to Waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge (Bridal Veil, Multnomah Falls) or under an hour to Mt. Hood for time in the snow! Fenced in backyard for any of your 4-legged friends to stretch. Gas fire pit, gas grill and patio table + lounge chairs are all open for sharing. Our previous homeowner had a trailer and set up this nice pad with built in hookups. We have grandparents with a 27' RV that come visit a few weekends a year, but we would love to share this corner of the woods with others looking for an accessible home base to access Portland/Mt. Hood/Gorge +. Note: Our driveway entry is steep, but navigable. We limit the trailer/RV length to 27' in order to avoid bottoming out. Novice trailer drivers may want to avoid. For quick bearings if you are booking while on the road, we are located just off 26 (Powell), 5 miles from I-205 or 11 miles from I-5 via the Ross Island Bridge. Many local wineries and a cider house are less than 15 minutes away, and even more within 30 minutes drive time. This could be your home base for year round activities available near the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The campsite is away from our main living and activity spaces, allowing for privacy yet safety for proximity to your hosts. Deer wander around our property all hours of the day, and bald eagles are often spotted in our trees or circling above. The campsite is on an unlandscaped part of our property, inviting to all local wildlife and birds, we even have a wild turkey family that frequentlyvisits. A small pond is just beyond the campsite, attracting waterfowl and thirsty critters, but not for humans at this time.

Our property used to be part of a farm that is over a hundred years old. At one point there was a roadhouse at the corner by the road. Apparently that is where the name duck inn comes from. We have recently built a new home on one side of the property and are pleased to offer the meadow for your primitive camping enjoyment. We lived in town for many years and are excited to share our country location with guests. Learn more about this land: Only 38 minutes away from downtown Portland. Come take a break and relax for the night in this small getaway spot. Perfect space for van lifers and road trips needing a break from driving. Our place is only 10 min from shopping including an outlet mall. Historic Silverton is 20 min away. Silver Falls is about 30 min away and has great hiking trails. The Silverton reservoir is a small lake 20 min away and is good for swimming and paddle boats. Small evergreen trees surround the tent sites. For an RV you can just drive in as far as you are comfortable on the grassy field. It is a little difficult to turn a trailer around, but it can be done if you don't mind backing out etc.

Being raised in the community, and over ten years of experience in the local food and wine industry, I can give recommendations aplenty. ꕥ The property has been in our family since the late 60’s and has recently been transferred in ownership to the next generation! It’s been a large adjustment with many precious memories in tow. Rhoda's Joy

This property was once part of a 200 acre cattle ranch turned into a Christian community. The families shared meals, home-schooled their children and had a home-based church. They raised their own food in a 3 acre garden and orchard along with chickens and cows for milk, meet and eggs. Two of the original families still own some of the acres although the community was dissolved and much of the property sold to other people. Learn more about this land: We love sharing our beautiful land with those that love nature. The sunsets, the peace and the birdsong are the best. Pets are welcome and you can walk through the forest with them on dirt pathways or keep them in your campsite. Please keep pets out of our area, as our dog is very protective and has been known to have scuffles with other animals approaching. Grassy areas are available to set up tents or have picnics. There are firepits for when the burn ban is not on (a wheelbarrow full of wood for $5). The campsites are large and spaced quite far from each other. Please stay on gravel roadways with all motor vehicles. There are two outhouses for tents campers. There is one non-potable water spigot by the log outhouse. There is no electricity on the property. For your own safety and peace of mind, please keep all food in bear safe containers or locked in your cars. If you forget anything, the Washougal River Mercantile is two miles away where you can buy gas and groceries. Local hiking trails on the Columbia Gorge: Cape Horn Trail just 3 miles from our property and Beacon Rock/Hamilton Mountain trail is a 15 minute drive. GeerCrest Farm

GeerCrest Farm was settled by the Geer family in 1848, and is still owned and stewarded by the family. The house Ralph and Mary Geer built in 1851 stands and is one of the oldest in Oregon to remain in the same family. The farm features creeks, forests, pastures, orchards and gardens as well as the historic buildings. Currently we have four friendly sheep and a small flock of Mallard ducks to keep us company. The Pioneer Memorial Orchard features over 50 vairieties of pre 1850 apple trees. The Heritage Grove has ten fruit and nut trees that were recognizeds as a memorial the the early pioneers of the nursery trade by Oregon Heritage Tree program. The 20 acre property, offers three tent camp sites Including the Tree House site, as well as two forest cabins and a small forest bunkhouse (sleeps 6). Our peaceful, small farm offers a reflective immersion in nature and history among the occasional quacking of ducks and baaas of sheep. The scenery from all corners of the farm is incredible - a favorite is the westward view of the valley pasture at sunset -- called "Homer's View" after famous political cartoonist and Geer descendant, Homer Davenport. No matter which camping site you choose, the sounds of the creek, pond frogs, or conversing owls are sure to lull you to sleep. Feel free to roam the farm, but always leave gates as you find them, open or closed. Please say hello to our sheep and barn cats (they may say hello first). Explore the Heritage Grove of historic trees, the Memorial apple orchard and pear glade with varieties circa 1840s, indulge your senses in our medicinal herb garden, and chat with our farm family while they water the veggie gardens, if you so wish! Your experience will certainly be unique to the season. Your host Jim Toler represents the fifth generation of the farm and will happily share stories of the farm and it's history. If you plan on partying and/or staying up late around the campfire, don't book this. I have neighbors and respect them. Go do your party booking elsewhere, please. Lastly, if you are bringing dogs, you'll most likely get a bit of barking from the dogs to the east for the 1st hour. I just want to be honest and warn you.

River Mountain Meadow

Learn more about this land: It sits upon a meadow with surrounding trees and a cow pasture in the distance. Spring time offers a small pond, but the Lewis river is in within walking distance and tons of recreational activities are close by (swimming, fishing, hiking, wineries, etc.). There are only two sites, far from each other. It is a rural property with a few residential homes and Airbnbs along the river, so be aware there are cars that drive through the one lane road. Town is close by for a quick trip. Privacy is better here than at a public campground and it's perfect for a close trip out of town for a day or two. *This winter was tough, lots of wind, so some trees fell, but they are all cleaned up and lots of small trees were planted. Can't wait until they grow!!! Dogs are most welcome, and may be off leash for a run in the field, however, please be mindful of my own dogs and chickens down below so please do not let them go beyond your site or the field when using. We will plan on making the pond to be a swim pond that will hold water all year long (the creek that runs into it is seasonal). Please, read each site description carefully! Site 1 has a composting toilet for tent campers (please do not rate me based on this or any other things out of my control, I have tried my best to inform you about what to be aware of in this description AND each site's description). The toilet is santized, bags and gel are provided and it's private. You MUST pack out ALL waste; if you do not like any of these conditions please do not book this site. Site 2 is for RVs that already have a toilet so if you are a tent camper and want to book this site you will need to bring your own camp toilet. This is a beautiful property and I enjoy sharing it, please be mindful of the rules.
