Glenada was incorporated in 1912 and disincorporated in 1922 after the town's sawmills burned. This side of the river was pretty bustling before the Siuslaw bridge was built in 1936, being quite a transformative event considering the ferry from Glenada to Florence was the main way across the river. River View is located up on Glenada mountain, on the upper level of our three-acre lot. We have a free-range farm atmosphere, with 2 children, 2 large dogs, a cat, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land. We have firewood bundles and farm-fresh eggs available for additional fees. THERE IS NO TOILET on the property. This is not a tent camping site unless you have your own porta-potty set up. This is a beautiful rustic property close enough to Hwy 101 to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy all the wildlife the Siuslaw River has to offer. Bird watching at its finest! From camp, you can see Old Town. Gaze down at the Siuslaw River and all the wildlife that comes with it! We regularly see deer, red tail hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles. We have also had a bear that passes through, so beware of leaving food out. There are plenty of places to hike and visit nearby dunes, rivers, lakes, parks, and the ocean. Enjoy Florence's amazing food (ask the host for her favorites). Walk down to Old Town for dinner or bring back take-out and eat it in the tiny house (no electricity or running water). Take a short walk to Pricket state park for clamming or just relax with a book and feel the breeze off the river. Whatever you enjoy, we’re sure you can find something close by! No bathroom or running water but there are 2 electrical plugs (110V and 220V) available.

Riverside Camping

Fall is just around the corner and we are hosting the last few of our guests! We close down the property in October to give the land a rest and the weather is not condusive to camping. Our area also has a potential to flood in the winter and we don't want to put any of our guests at risk. The mornings are cool, calm and foggy but the fog burns off quickly. We are off the beach about 5 miles so we get warmer and don't have the winds that are on the coast. The winds do pick up in the afternoons but, die down for calm evenings. Our campsites are easily accessible by vehicle from the highway and we have room for tents, small trailers and camper vans too. The sites are grassy and relatively level, situated under large spruce trees. We are still in tidewater here so both sites sit above the river (about a 15' river bank at high tide). We have two campsites on our property but, to give our guests a more private experience we allow one group at a time. Our one designated site, closest to the river bank we call the Riverside Site. It can be reserved for up to 4 people. It can only accommodate smaller tents, campers, pop up trailers, small pod-type trailers and larger rigs up to 15'. The Riverside Site has a rustic firepit and deck for viewing the river. For groups of 5 or more or people or camping with large 10 person tents or trailers over 20', there will be an additional fee and you will need to set up camp in our Riverwood Site, about 150' from the riverbank. You will still have full access to the deck and firepit in the other site but, larger rigs cannot maneuver in the site without tearing up the grass and leaving ruts on our property. **Please note**When you make the reservation you will add an "Extra", ADDITIONAL CAMPSITE. When you make your reservation we require you to specify how many people are in your group. Children up to 15 yo are included in the 4 but, kids 16 yo and older will be additional campers in your group. We also need to know how you will be camping (tent, trailer, campervan, etc.). You are also required to let us know if you have a dog (or 2 or 3...). We have 2 dogs who love to meet and greet our guests and their pets so we need to know what to expect when you arrive. We have indoor bathroom facilities for our guests in a separate apartment we have downstairs of our house. There is a small living and dining area, kitchenette with barista bar, microwave and small fridge. It is about 150' walk and is visible from the campsites but, still feels private. All areas in the apartment are cleaned and sterilized after each guest. We have a couple of wastebaskets that are for paper towels but, we also require all guest to pack out any garbage. At the expense of sounding like a jerk, we have learned a lot being camp hosts and have found there are some things that are just unacceptable. We do not have garbage service at the property and to be respectful to the next guests, keep the property as you found it. We are a "leave no trace" property so please take any garbage with you, please don't leave any greasy areas from cooking breakfast, etc. pick up all animal waste and please don't leave any chopped/splintered wood on site. We also offer our little Bunkie, the Glass House for an extra fee. The Bunkie sleeps two comfortably. It has a nice mattress (Please bring your own sleeping bags), a comfy bench, a coat rack, remote control lights and a nice electric heater. There are curtains all around for privacy. You'll use the bathroom facilities in the apartment. All of our guests have full access to our personal dock to get down to the water. Feel free to fish off the dock, swim, Kayak, SUP or just enjoy the evening on the dock. We have a family of 6 Otters that you can see in the early morning, munching on crawdads. Enjoy a wide variety of wildlife; migrating and resident birds like Mergansers, Mallards, Canadian Geese. There are many species of song birds. You may hear a Bear of two making their way down to cross the river. There are deer across the river from our property and there is a huge herd of Elk at about the 3.5-4 mile marker. Our property is about a 10 minute drive to the Ocean/Hwy 101, just south of Lincoln City. There is hiking close by and miles of coastline to explore. We are happy to help you have the best experience at the coast...Just ask! A little about the process once you make a reservation: Once you reserve a camp site you'll receive a welcome message acknowledging we received your reservation. Then, a few days before your stay, we will send the physical address, directions to the property and on-site instructions for check in. Once you arrive at the property, there is a HIPCAMP sign with an arrow to direct you to the camp sites. You will follow the instructions we give you depending on the size of your group or the size of your rig. There are also "END HIPCAMP" signs on our property lines to preserve our neighbors privacy. Check-in is 2pm or later, check out is 12noon or before. To be respectful of other campers that are excited to get outdoors (and to allow us to clean the bathroom and make sure the property is ready for the next campers) we need to adhere to these times. FIRE RESTRICTIONS - There are no fire restrictions currently but, we want you to extinguish fires when you leave the property. We have bottles of water at each site to do so. Also, we provide fire extinguishers if there is an emergency grass fire. We don't always have firewood available onsite so you might want to bring a bundle anyway. A little about the property and us: We found this property, that includes the bare land we use for our Hipcampers and our house, just by chance about 10 years ago. We had only dreamed of having a place on a river but, when we found this place, it was over run with tall grass and blackberries. It was a lot of hard work to get it to what it is today but, so worth it. We both love the outdoors and have always loved camping with our kids. Trip Camp Yachats

Secluded tent and hammock camping on the Oregon Coast! Walk to the beach and sleep in the trees. World-class trails, restaurants, brewery, and more minutes away. Nestled on 20 private acres 1/2 mile from the ocean and just out of the fog line, Trip Camp is quiet, off-grid forest camping, but minutes from town. You can still hear the waves most nights! Trip Camp is an easy 15-minute walk to the beach, crossing highway 101. Yachats is 3 miles away. It's possible to walk to Yachats via the beach and 804 trail system. Cape Perpetua scenic area is 5 miles away and hosts many great trails. Heceta Head Lighthouse and the world-famous Sea Lion Caves are 18 miles to the south. A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area). We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed. We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. If you've got elementary age children, our kiddo is looking forward to saying hello (heck, they want to say hello to everyone, who are we kidding)! More about Trip Camp: Purchased in 2013, building out our property has been a labor of love, and is always a work in progress. We wanted to live somewhere where things move slower and where we can have a more intimate connection with the land. We raise over 30 chickens, garden, and forage the natural abundance of the area, from berries to mushrooms. In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters. The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.

Alsea Valley Farm

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing seven miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. Nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Fishing access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, one pull out couch, and an optional futon mattress and a fold out single bed. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, electric sauna, and creek access. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 2 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few spiders and other bugs, the occasional bunny, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. Barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. We love sharing good conversations and ideas about how to live well and stay excited about all things. Towns/Activities nearby: Veneta/Elmira are charming small rural towns with all the basics less than 10 min drive: Grocery Outlet, Bi-mart, Ace hardware, Auto parts, some decent restaurants. Fern Ridge Lake is 10 minutes down the road for walking trails, boating and paddling, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. Our piece of heaven… We have 200 acres of timber cozied up to Siltcoos Lake. Siltcoos Lake is approximately 3500 acres and warm enough to swim in! Your campsite is 10 private acres surrounded by the rest of our 200 acres. You are welcome to hike, bike, forage, and enjoy the whole 200 acre forest. Your 10 acre campsite is private for you and your guests. So let your pets off the leash, laugh, play music, have fun! Your site comes with a propane bbq grill, fire pit, patio set, table and chairs. There is plenty of flat, open area to maneuver several RVs and place tents. It is open and grassy. Our driveway is quite long, but gets you to peaceful privacy. Our driveway is part gravel and partly dirt that we grade as needed. You can place your kayaks and small boats into the lake at our property. RVs, tents, boats, bicycles, horses and pets welcome. We have a small horse corral if requested. We have many unimproved roads to access our creeks, springs, ponds and lake or enjoy the deer paths. Our property has elderberry, blackberry, huckleberry, mulberry, thimbleberry, salmonberry, currants… mushrooms, many wild edible plants and wild life! Siltcoos Lake has 2 boat ramps, 1 restaurant, 1 bar, 1 store, and boat rentals. The restaurant/bar/store (Darlings) will deliver, by boat, to your campsite for $10 !!! $20 minimum as of 2022. Or drive/boat over to Darlings for their well known friendly atmosphere and great food served inside or on their heated deck! Sorry no ATV use on property at this time. Riverside Camping

Fall is just around the corner and we are hosting the last few of our guests! We close down the property in October to give the land a rest and the weather is not condusive to camping. Our area also has a potential to flood in the winter and we don't want to put any of our guests at risk. The mornings are cool, calm and foggy but the fog burns off quickly. We are off the beach about 5 miles so we get warmer and don't have the winds that are on the coast. The winds do pick up in the afternoons but, die down for calm evenings. Our campsites are easily accessible by vehicle from the highway and we have room for tents, small trailers and camper vans too. The sites are grassy and relatively level, situated under large spruce trees. We are still in tidewater here so both sites sit above the river (about a 15' river bank at high tide). We have two campsites on our property but, to give our guests a more private experience we allow one group at a time. Our one designated site, closest to the river bank we call the Riverside Site. It can be reserved for up to 4 people. It can only accommodate smaller tents, campers, pop up trailers, small pod-type trailers and larger rigs up to 15'. The Riverside Site has a rustic firepit and deck for viewing the river. For groups of 5 or more or people or camping with large 10 person tents or trailers over 20', there will be an additional fee and you will need to set up camp in our Riverwood Site, about 150' from the riverbank. You will still have full access to the deck and firepit in the other site but, larger rigs cannot maneuver in the site without tearing up the grass and leaving ruts on our property. **Please note**When you make the reservation you will add an "Extra", ADDITIONAL CAMPSITE. When you make your reservation we require you to specify how many people are in your group. Children up to 15 yo are included in the 4 but, kids 16 yo and older will be additional campers in your group. We also need to know how you will be camping (tent, trailer, campervan, etc.). You are also required to let us know if you have a dog (or 2 or 3...). We have 2 dogs who love to meet and greet our guests and their pets so we need to know what to expect when you arrive. We have indoor bathroom facilities for our guests in a separate apartment we have downstairs of our house. There is a small living and dining area, kitchenette with barista bar, microwave and small fridge. It is about 150' walk and is visible from the campsites but, still feels private. All areas in the apartment are cleaned and sterilized after each guest. We have a couple of wastebaskets that are for paper towels but, we also require all guest to pack out any garbage. At the expense of sounding like a jerk, we have learned a lot being camp hosts and have found there are some things that are just unacceptable. We do not have garbage service at the property and to be respectful to the next guests, keep the property as you found it. We are a "leave no trace" property so please take any garbage with you, please don't leave any greasy areas from cooking breakfast, etc. pick up all animal waste and please don't leave any chopped/splintered wood on site. We also offer our little Bunkie, the Glass House for an extra fee. The Bunkie sleeps two comfortably. It has a nice mattress (Please bring your own sleeping bags), a comfy bench, a coat rack, remote control lights and a nice electric heater. There are curtains all around for privacy. You'll use the bathroom facilities in the apartment. All of our guests have full access to our personal dock to get down to the water. Feel free to fish off the dock, swim, Kayak, SUP or just enjoy the evening on the dock. We have a family of 6 Otters that you can see in the early morning, munching on crawdads. Enjoy a wide variety of wildlife; migrating and resident birds like Mergansers, Mallards, Canadian Geese. There are many species of song birds. You may hear a Bear of two making their way down to cross the river. There are deer across the river from our property and there is a huge herd of Elk at about the 3.5-4 mile marker. Our property is about a 10 minute drive to the Ocean/Hwy 101, just south of Lincoln City. There is hiking close by and miles of coastline to explore. We are happy to help you have the best experience at the coast...Just ask! A little about the process once you make a reservation: Once you reserve a camp site you'll receive a welcome message acknowledging we received your reservation. Then, a few days before your stay, we will send the physical address, directions to the property and on-site instructions for check in. Once you arrive at the property, there is a HIPCAMP sign with an arrow to direct you to the camp sites. You will follow the instructions we give you depending on the size of your group or the size of your rig. There are also "END HIPCAMP" signs on our property lines to preserve our neighbors privacy. Check-in is 2pm or later, check out is 12noon or before. To be respectful of other campers that are excited to get outdoors (and to allow us to clean the bathroom and make sure the property is ready for the next campers) we need to adhere to these times. FIRE RESTRICTIONS - There are no fire restrictions currently but, we want you to extinguish fires when you leave the property. We have bottles of water at each site to do so. Also, we provide fire extinguishers if there is an emergency grass fire. We don't always have firewood available onsite so you might want to bring a bundle anyway. A little about the property and us: We found this property, that includes the bare land we use for our Hipcampers and our house, just by chance about 10 years ago. We had only dreamed of having a place on a river but, when we found this place, it was over run with tall grass and blackberries. It was a lot of hard work to get it to what it is today but, so worth it. We both love the outdoors and have always loved camping with our kids. Glenada was incorporated in 1912 and disincorporated in 1922 after the town's sawmills burned. This side of the river was pretty bustling before the Siuslaw bridge was built in 1936, being quite a transformative event considering the ferry from Glenada to Florence was the main way across the river. River View is located up on Glenada mountain, on the upper level of our three-acre lot. We have a free-range farm atmosphere, with 2 children, 2 large dogs, a cat, and 12 chickens. We allow Hip Campers to bring animals on the property with the understanding that they are good around children and other animals, as our kids and pets are often running around the land. We have firewood bundles and farm-fresh eggs available for additional fees. THERE IS NO TOILET on the property. This is not a tent camping site unless you have your own porta-potty set up. This is a beautiful rustic property close enough to Hwy 101 to be convenient but far enough away to enjoy all the wildlife the Siuslaw River has to offer. Bird watching at its finest! Not to mention the view of Old Town! Learn more about this land: River View is located on the upper level of our three-acre lot. We have a free-range farm atmosphere. We have 2 children, 2 large dogs, a cat, and 12 chickens. This little slice of rugged heaven is just above the Siuslaw River and right off of Hwy 101. There is a steep gravel driveway but once at the top, it is flat and the view is pretty amazing. From camp, you can see Old Town. Gaze down at the Siuslaw River and all the wildlife that comes with it! We regularly see deer, red tail hawks, ospreys, and bald eagles. We have also had a bear that passes through, so beware of leaving food out. There are plenty of places to hike and visit nearby dunes, rivers, lakes, parks, and the ocean. Enjoy Florence's amazing food (ask the host for her favorites). Walk down to Old Town for dinner or bring back take-out and eat it in the tiny house (no electricity or running water). Take a short walk to Pricket state park for clamming or just relax with a book and feel the breeze off the river. Whatever you enjoy, we’re sure you can find something close by! No bathroom or running water but there are 2 electrical plugs (110V and 220V) available.

Learn more about this land: Mosswood is on 5 acres of mostly forested land, there's usually a project going (or three). We've recently finished building a barn workshop, a covered timber frame deck in the meadow, and a very unique woven tree net that you'll be sure to enjoy! No dogs living here, just one friendly cat, otherwise it's squirrels, birds, and the occasional wild turkey procession or coyote. There is a large garden, and when growing season is on, we may send you packing with some fresh greens or veggies! If you see us out and about, feel free to come say hello or ask questions. Cape Perpetua scenic area is 5 miles away and hosts many great trails. Heceta Head Lighthouse and the world-famous Sea Lion Caves are 18 miles to the south. A small trail system exists on property which you are welcome to explore. Trip Camp backs wooded and forestry lands. Wild black bear and cougar live in this the area. Plan accordingly. We have never had an issue with one of these animals, (we suggest you store food in your car away from your camp area). We generally do not allow fires due to fire risk, but are actively experimenting with options we that might work outside of fire season. Only camp stoves are currently allowed. We are a working and developing homestead. Though the campsites are further back in the forest, upfront (and where you park) you will encounter our greenhouse, home, children's play area. Do not be surprised to see a tractor moving about and handling our ongoing farm operations. If you've got elementary age children, our kiddo is looking forward to saying hello (heck, they want to say hello to everyone, who are we kidding)! More about Trip Camp: Purchased in 2013, building out our property has been a labor of love, and is always a work in progress. We wanted to live somewhere where things move slower and where we can have a more intimate connection with the land. We raise over 30 chickens, garden, and forage the natural abundance of the area, from berries to mushrooms. In our forest, there are deer, coyote, rabbit, bear, skunk, raccoon, squirrels and chipmunks, various owls, bald eagles, weasels, cougar, bobcat, and any other number of critters. The Trip Camp sites sit on the historical Spruce Logging Railway Camps of the early 20th century. During WW1, some conscientious objectors were sent to work camps such as the one here to log the first and second growth spruce trees for the war effort. When they finished the narrow gauge railway system to transport the logs in 1919, the war effort was over and was taken over by private logging concerns.
