Our place is usually quiet, shaded and very very private. With wooded walking trails, three ponds in the holler, a canoe, 2 kayaks, firepit, hammocks and so much more. Only a quick jump from Hwy 183, you'll be close to all the amenities of Lockhart, the best BBQ in Texas. You'll have everything you need to enjoy your mini adventure. Myself and my two young daughters were warmly welcomed by Shellie’s most thoughtful design of her secret hideout amongst the oaks. It was a quick drive from a busy day in Austin where the nature and quiet we’re so needed. Shellie has thought of everything for this amazing getaway. We could have gotten away with not bringing a thing. A quaint treehouse, overlooking a pond, nature all around, two more ponds a short stroll away. Our favorite part, the seclusion. An escape from the busyness and chaos of the world. Being able to cook dinner by the fire, hear the bullfrogs croaking and take a soak in the outdoor tub overlooking the evening. Do yourself a favor and invite the day with a grateful heart while showering in the open air shower. Sun rising, view of robins and chickadees while appreciating the whisper of the oaks all around. At Robins Nest we were explorers. We were artist, we were fisherman. We were silly, we were fun. We lived out every child’s dream, including my own inner child. We were storytellers. We were one with nature. We were dreamers. We disconnected and reconnected to ourselves and each other. I highly recommend this getaway and look forward to a visit once again. This sacred land is an oasis for healing in nature. It is undeveloped and solely used for private stays and small events/ ceremonies. You will feel a wave of comfort the moment you arrive.Secluded and private, find yourself connecting to the land with your friends, family, or yourself, here at Mandala Hills. Surrounded by oaks and cedar trees, you can relax in nature. The area has incredible sunrises and sunsets, so close to downtown but feels like you're far away in the country. There may be wellness classes being held further down the property. You are more than welcome to attend. Hiking, swimming, and kayaking are within a 20-minute drive! These destinations include Barton Springs, Lady Bird Lake, and Wildflower Centerlots. Art and food are close as well when venturing into Austin which is also only 20 minutes from our oasis. Other cities are not too much further with Johnson City, Fredericksburg, San Marcos, and Dripping springs being 45 minutes or less of a drive. A bit about us. We are a family of 4 who lives on the land next door. This is sacred Native land where you can feel the healing energy. You may even find an arrowhead. The host is here if you need them, but you are able to enjoy your solitude. Respect the land and the cabin, they are very special. This is not a party place, rather a place to just BE.

Lost Pines Smithville

We purchased the property as a forest back in 2007. We cut down a little bit of the forest to build our house. Some of the forest burned down in the great Bastrop wildfire in 2011, but it has grown back. Native Americans once lived here. Sometimes you can find arrowheads. Learn more about this land: Lost Pines camping is located on a gravel dead-end road. We are in a pine forest and have a two-acre lake on the property that is good for swimming. Bastrop and Buescher State Parks are nearby and easy to access through back roads. Blackberries can be picked for a month or so in springtime. The land is a bit hilly. Downtown Bastrop and Downtown Smithville are both a ten-minute drive away. There are 1 RV site and 1 tent site. The tent site is a hike into the forest. The other is alongside the parking area.
