2 nights at Forest Glen Cabin

Amazing location and features for the price! Cabin is a cute cozy lil lofted cabin with all the necessities for cooking, sleeping and exploring. There is not a place to shower but there is a cowboy tub which gets warm, that you can heat yourself. It is on a shared lot with some neighbors who were not present most of my visit, but other than that it pretty secluded and v close to the river. Host was also very kind and responsive! I don't know that dogs will be able to get up into the loft to sleep up there as the ladder is quite steep. Definitely definitely definitely worth the money.

Weekend Trip to Saltgrass Garden

My daughter loved the cozy cabin at Saltgrass. It had everything we needed to be comfortable and is close to many nice walking trails and towns like LaConner and Edison that both have fun shopping and great dining options. We are looking forward to coming to stay again.

2 nights at Alder Grove Retreat

Absolutely beautiful, and only a short drive from Rainier! The only two things I would caution people about are 1) The place's address is the Alder Grove Retreat, so if you're using the addresses, don't go too far down the road and look for the entrance of the place and 2) if you go early in the season, the water for the shower may not be necessarily as hot as most people would like, but we were okay with it because that's what we're used to. All in all, an excellent space and a welcome reprieve from camping in the cold

2 nights at Crescent Beach & RV

We camped there in March (early season). The staff was really great and friendly! I didn't bring a gas-grill so I asked them for a fire pit grilling grate to cook steaks ... they provided one quickly. The beach is huge, amazing and relaxing, but there were also people not relaxing and surfing the waves instead. The campsites are a little tight/cozy, but the views and time spent on the walking the beach or hiking the nearby trails are worth it.

Weekend Trip to Camp Hideaway

We spent a rainy weekend here and it couldn't have been better. We had the place to ourselves, including the large covered firepit. The cabin is really cozy and includes a coffee maker and all the dishes/cookware you may need. Unfortunately the rope bridge was pulled in for the season, but we walked the short trails available. I highly recommend staying here!

I had a great time visiting this cabin for one night, but I wish I'd planned to stay longer and may come back an do so. Great spot to get away from the city. The site is private and the landscape is really cool. Nice mountain views and lots of open sky to look at the stars at night. The cabin is very cozy with lots of big windows to enjoy the view. The king bed is really comfortable and there's lots of good seating. I appreciated that there were lots of surfaces since I had a little writing work I wanted to do while I was here. Would be great for board games and food prep too.

Honestly, needed this so badly. Kind of a last second trip after a different reservation fell through and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. Had the vibe of the kind of place you wish your family had so you could just pack up for the weekend and get away when you need to. Beautiful, unique property with incredible stargazing. As an aspiring carpenter, really appreciated pondering the craftsmanship that went into this place. Host is communicative and friendly. I left and immediately wished I could go back.

2 nights at Oh-Deer-Me

Nice spot with easy access from I-5 and options for RV or tent or car campers. The hosts are friendly and they make a point to meet you and let you know the layout. There’s an outside bathroom with shower right below the tree fort. The property is very close to the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge so I spent one day over there and saw almost 40 different species of birds.

Michael thought of everything reality! The cabin has all you would need and more. Surrounded by lush green and within you’ll find warmth and coziness. Really the perfect place to stay after exploring the beautiful Olympic Peninsula. Budget friendly and dogs are welcome! Twas easy to find, even in the dark when I arrived. Cannot recommend this place enough. I will most definitely be back soon!

We loved the cabin we stayed in, it was just a short walk to a grassy area by the dock where we had a glorious view of Mt. St. Helens. The office/store was on the other side of the dock. Easy access to everything.

So…the place is awesome. No doubt. But we unfortunately booked during a big snow storm and couldn’t get our AWD vehicle up the hill to the cabin. We ended up hiking in, but had to bail because the snow kept coming. So, check the weather conditions in the winter before you book.

2 nights at Camp Keyser Forest Camp

My parter, dog, and I had a wonderful time at the micro cabin! There was a good amount of snow on the ground and the cabin is not insulated, but we were able to keep plenty warm and dry using the wood stove. The gas lamp was surprisingly bright, and the gas stovetop also worked great. The bed was super comfortable, also. Steve was a very responsive host and also respected our privacy. The owner’s house can be seen from the cabin, but the surrounding area is quiet and peaceful. I feel like this cabin may be more popular in the warmer months, but it’s also sooo charming in the snow.

Camp Keyser Forest Camp

Even closer is Whitehorse Regional Trail (great for biking, walking and horseback riding) built on the bed of the former BNSF railroad through the North Stillaguamish River Valley, spanning over 27 miles. The nearly level trail meanders through the valley, rewarding visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas. Sites have a generous fire pit and access to a Porta-Potty. For bathing I recommend cool dip in the Stillaguamish River. In season there is also fishing, snowshoeing, concerts at the blue grass festival grounds, a rodeo, and so much more.

Overnight at the Oasis

Boggan's Oasis is in the SE corner of Washington state, right on the breathtaking Grande Ronde River. Visitors can arrive by driving to the bottom of Rattlesnake Grade (WA-129), or the bottom of Buford Grade (OR-3). These two curvacious roads are extremely popular rides for motorcyclists and bicyclists nationally. Visitors may also arrive by water (rafts, driftboats, jetboats, kayaks, etc) coming downriver from Oregon, or upriver from the Snake River (WA/ID). Many other unpaved roads will lead guests to our canyon, which creates great opportunities for off-road vehicle adventures! The Grande Ronde River, which drains much of northeast Oregon's Union and Wallowa counties, is fed by snowpack in the Elkhorn Mountains. The Wallowa River, a major tributary to the Grande Ronde, headwaters in the Wallowa Mountains, mostly within the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Twenty-two miles from Boggan's Oasis, the Grande Ronde River flows into the mighty Snake River. The river is surrounded by steep, rugged canyon walls that rise 3000 to 4000 feet above the river level. Dense conifer forests blend into grassy slopes set off by scattered conifer "stringers." Called "The Land of Winding Waters" by Native Americans, the river is home to rainbow trout, dolly varden, whitefish, squawfish, suckers, bass, and steelhead. Rocky Mountain elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, bighorn sheep, bear, bald eagles, and a variety of smaller animals and birds can be seen daily. And yes, there are rattlesnakes! Fishing, hunting, hiking, all kinds of boating/floating, offroad vehicle riding, and animal/bird watching are beyond expectations in this area. Seasonally, guests can also successfully gather a variety of mushrooms and berries while on one of the many nearby hiking trails. Many of these short walks also lead to incredible, far-reaching views of the Blue Mountains, Wenaha wildlife sanctuary, Hells Canyon, and the tri-state area. In the hotter summer months, the swimming hole below the Boggan's Bridge is a popular way to cool off. Boggan's Oasis also offers fishing trips, float trips, shuttles, and a FULL restaurant! It has nature, quiet, and privacy. It includes a 30-year-old orchard, a developed garden with fine soil, a pond with rope swing and waterslide, several solar and wind energy systems, and multiple buildings. It's about a mile in two directions from the Pacific Ocean beach, and is surrounded by wooded acreage that is criss-crossed with trails and friendly neighbors, on an island with about 700 year-round residents and an active weekend/summer population. Homestead owner Ian Woofenden is an expert in renewable energy systems. He's lived off-grid at the homestead for 40-plus years, where he raised his large family and managed several small businesses. He now consults, sells, writes, and teaches about renewable energy in the U.S. and in Central America. If your idea of a great getaway is to help out and do physical work, just ask Ian. There's always something going on at the homestead, including garden and orchard work, trail building, wood cutting, construction, sawmilling, and more. Ian built this place, and has a broad knowledge of lots of homestead and sustainability topics. He loves sharing his knowledge and experience with guest, students, and interns. Winter sports galore up here right now! Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ample parking for snow mobile trailers! OR bring your favorite book and come enjoy a peaceful restful weekend! Springtime is a gorgeous time of year up here and turkey season is a favorite! Ample room for boats/trailers if you are considering hitting Drano lake for some springer salmon fishing! It is apx 30 minutes away. In the summertime come up and enjoy the hiking! Sleeping Beauty trail is just a few minutes away and you are within 30 minutes or Hood River if you are looking to explore and check out wineries. There are cheese caves, ice caves, Goose Lake, Council Lake and so much more! Fall is one of my favorite seasons! Hood River fishery has been amazing and the fall colors can't be beat! There is a fire pit and campfires are welcome when there is not a burn ban. Trout Lake Inn is a local favorite up here and check their Facebook to see what live entertainment they have coming up. Pets are welcome - please make sure they are well behaved and are kept close to the cabin. I do have my own friendly dogs (Ruby and Muskett) on the property, but they do not have access to the cabin area. Come enjoy the mountain air - it is good for the soul! **No parties - limit of 2 adult guests and up to 2 children. No illegal drugs. No smoking or vaping inside cabin or the bathroom/hospitality room.

Incredible location! This sweet cabin is nestled at the base of Mt. Jupiter, directly between Dosewallips beach and the Olympic national Park. There's lots of gorgeous, mossy maples, shaggy cedars, and elk herds roaming free. The Cabin is easily accessible from the road, and has parking available. There's a secluded fire pit behind the cabin with a seasonal stream running by. Its a relaxing place to hang out for a few days, and/or excellent basecamp to explore the amazing forests, mountains, and beaches nearby. Also, there's lots of great foraging to be done (nettles, mushrooms, and oysters; oh my!) GPS LOCATION: When driving to the cabin, your GPS will tell you that 'your destination is on the left'. This is a lie. The cabin will be on the right. There is a metal gate that is closed with a chain but not locked. CABIN LAYOUT AND SLEEPING AMENITIES: The Cabin is just a little guy; only 16'x20'. There is a kitchen, living room, and dining room area, and the bathroom is a separate room - we call it our 'studio cabin'. We have a fold out couch for which we provide linens, pillows, and a comforter. There is also an inflatable mattress that is a tight squeeze, but can allow for four people to sleep (with a little furniture rearranging). There is a deck that is large enough for a two person tent that would also make a four person camp-out comfortable. All linens and towels are stored in the trunk and the bathroom cabinet. There is a 4' round dining room table with four chairs and a small table on the porch with two more chairs. All the cushions for the chairs are in a cabinet under the table inside. ACCESSIBILITY: Unfortunately, the cabin is not wheelchair accessible. There are 5 stairs up to the deck and the bathroom door is only 27" wide. SURROUNDING AREA: There are small trails leading away from the cabin; do not walk down them! They lead to neighboring properties and I cannot guarantee that there won't be neighbors who would be very surprised by a stranger showing up on their land! There are lots of public trails only a few minutes drive in either direction from the property :) STOLEN LAND: This property is on stolen, indigenous land. If you are Coast Salish or Makah, please get in touch with me for a discounted stay.
