SPOKANE CAMPING In The Forest

4 sites · Lodging, Tents10 acres · Spokane, WA
The property we named GAEA (the old Greek spelling of Mother Earth) was first seen in a vision. Historically, Deep Creek Canyon was a winter encampment for the Spokane Indians, whose ancestral lands surround us. We feel the healing spirit of the land, in partnership and stewardship. We gather community for Solstice & Equinox celebrations, bringing people together to honor the changing seasons. Our original house was one of the first in the canyon, in the early 1940's. There’s a map that leads you to hidden features, like the gypsy fortune-telling tea house, a fairy mound at the base of a huge fir tree, a yoga platform, and a Buddha bench for contemplating or conversation.

The River Resort sits on the Pilchuck River, which is located on a dead end private gravel road. Plenty of space to pitch a tent or three. In the summer months, an RV can be used down there. But there’s a long drive-way that leads to it that a RV can be used with power close by, room for additional RVs with power at additional cost but they have to stay in the drive to the river spot. There is a CLEAN custom made vault restroom for both men/women with lots of wall reading plagues for your bathroom entertainment!!! Also, an instant hot water tank for a shower for guest to use available starting mid June 2024. There are two picnic table, a propane grill, a propane fireplace for when there is a burn ban, bring your isn propane or $15.00 a night if we provide. There is a wood fire pit by the river. A covered gazebo over another wood pit is available, but it is not as private as we may be there but typically don’t if it’s damp out. (Again Gas and wood provided for an additional fee, a wheel barrel of good dry wood for $20.00). Owners live on property but you’ll have 100% privacy at River (unless you want to kick it with a couple cool people), a couple bikes for bike rides, kayaks, paddle boards, two pontoons available to rent at additional cost. Advanced notice for pontoons are available . Starting 6/1/24 there will be a yurt set up on the property. So fees may be increased. I’m going to set up another site available on the property in a different listing if you just want to bring your tent so look for the tent listing as well. You don’t have to stay in the year. You could bring your tent. If you choose to stay in the yurt and you want to bring additional. Romantic Forest Hide-a-Way

2 sites · Lodging40 acres · White Salmon, WA
💥❣️💥Thrilling Delights of Amazing Northern Lights (5/10 - 5/14*) 💥❣️💥 Largely constructed from materials lovingly and gently harvested on-site, the Yurt at Rivendell is a sanctuary of peace and serenity. A place for rejuvenation and inspiration. The yurt began as a rustic structure utilizing lumber from trees selectively harvested to protect the health of the forest. But, the more Roy worked on the Yurt the more it spoke to him letting him know how to proceed and what it should become -- resulting in this phenomenally peaceful and stress-free wilderness sanctuary where the sun, the moon and the stars wink at you through the gentle undulations of the 100-year-old Douglas Firs Trees or through the ambient ether of the adjoining meadows. Our property is located 1hr and 30 minutes from Mt Hood in Oregon. We are located in White Salmon, Washington. There are enough things to do in White Salmon, including hiking trails, biking trails, white water rafting, waterfalls, and paddling spots to keep you entertained for a weekend, week, or lifetime! NOTE: While we do accept Instant Bookings for both our Tree House and Yurt there may very rarely be a conflict with a booking received earlier from another site when the HipCamp calendar has not been updated to reflect that booking. In that case, we default to the earliest booking and work with the guest to see if there are other dates which will work. *Meteorologists project possible visible Northern Lights through May 14, 2024

Forest Farmstead

8 sites · Lodging23 acres · Rockport, WA
Our old growth temperate rain forest homestead begins the wild and uncut wilderness that extends 40 miles to the Canadian boarder and beyond just as far. Before us it was part of Cascadian Farm (the organic food brand which still operates a lovely ice cream, esspresso, and berry stand adjacent to us), and before that it was one of the first farms this deep into the Cascade Range supplying food for the crews building the dams. We offer both a yurt and tree house. You will be on our small farm/homestead that is backed up to the Mount Baker National Forest with undisturbed forest all north all the way to the Canadian border to the north, Baker lake to the north west, and to the North Cascades National park to the North east. The Skagit River flows to the south of us. If you like freezing cold glacier water, we'll provide you with a map where you can walk down to the river to cool off at a safe swimming hole.Guests love staying here "Such a glorious and relaxed stay. The yurt really was a palace, it was so spacious and had many thoughtful amenities. We hiked on the mountain, forded a river and played with Hiland cows, all within walking distance of the yurt. I was worried that it would be cold but we were toasty and were even able to cook full course meals. Terry and Erin were the perfect hosts, responsive and yet non-instrusive. Thank you so much for letting us have this experience!"

Yurts in Washington guide

Overview

If you're looking for a bit of outdoor adventure but would rather skip setting up a campsite, yurt camping is a great middle-ground. Some of Washington's best yurts are within easy reach of urban areas, so you’ll find great year-round options in the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands regions near Seattle, outside Spokane, and along southwest Washington's Columbia River, within a short drive of Portland, Oregon. Many Washington state parks offer cozy yurt rentals, including Cape Disappointment State Park and Grayland Beach State Park, as well as Kanaskat-Palmer, Pacific Beach, Paradise Point, Seaquest, and Twin Harbors. Some are pet-friendly and most come equipped with futons and bunk beds, though campers often need to bring their own linens. While state park yurts are heated and typically have outdoor picnic tables and fire pits with grates, don't expect kitchenettes unless you're at a private yurt rental.
