Just a 20 minute drive to Leavenworth and a couple miles from fish lake and lake Wenatchee. We enjoyed relaxing by the firepit, hiking in Leavenworth, and fishing at fish lake. We'll be coming back!

What an amazing view! Breathtaking. Chris and Jennifer were wonderful hosts. We are new trailer owners and Chris was easy to approach and helpful with some of the issues we ran into. We went in early Spring, so the wind was pretty fierce. But don’t let the wind or weather deter you- just bring an extra layer and don’t miss this view.

We enjoyed our stay @ the vineyard! Renalto was extremely helpful, a warm welcome, and has a great space. The campsites are nice and roomy, not cramped next to other sites which is refreshing with two dogs joining us while we tented. We had a tasting with Renalto & learned about the history of the vineyard.

Please write me with any questions you have. I have a rental cabin in the area too that is closer to Lake Cle Elum. Lots of large groups have reserved multiple or all sites for their large groups and for more privacy. However please keep in mind the place still needs to be cleaned up upon leaving. Private camp area close and easy access to Forest service road 4517 that has ATV, dirt bike and snowmobile trails in amazing Cle Elum's Little Creek and Granite Creek area. Can take ride ORV from campground to Forest road, but no trail riding in campground or surrounding gravel roads. Vehicles must have spark arrestors. Quiet and private for groups to hang out and enjoy the area, hiking, exploring, and enjoying the night sky. We often kayak at Easton State Park or at Cooper Lake and then come back to this private camp area away from the crowds. Huge parking and camping area where 10+ vehicles and RVs can easily drive to and park before heading out on the trail or use as a base camp to enjoy the peaceful mountains around you and explore are area around you. You will enjoy the peaceful hills and unobstructed views of a stary night sky. No electrical or water hookups. This is not a KOA, it's a very private rough campground area with beautiful views. There are no manicured lawns, but lots of rocky areas and often wildlife walking about. Deer and turkeys often are seen and grasshoppers when its warm. Forest Road to campsite often is bumpy with good sized potholes. The internet service via T-Mobile is incredible on 4/18/2024 I was getting the following at the entrance of the camp area: 80 - 181 Mbps Down 5- 10.2 Mbps Up

This is for the adventurous Hipcamper that appreciates the bumpy dirt road. Your Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla won't get you here. Cell service is limited. But it is so worth it. Come relax and enjoy the views of the Columbia River and the North Cascades. Plenty of sunshine with epic sunsets, our property is where you come to unwind and soak in the sun when the east side of the Cascades is socked in with clouds and rain. If you want to explore the area, it's about a 10-minute car ride to the Columbia River and 20 minutes to Chelan and all that is offered there. Our favorite activities when we visit are to listen to the birds chirp and take in the surroundings. There are several lava rock piles that speak to the long and volcanic geological history of the area. We also really enjoy walking the dirt road on the ridge. It provides some of the most incredible views in the area. The dirt road section over the ridge can be a little rough and dusty and it's recommended that guests have a medium clearance vehicle, such as a Subaru Outback. However, a guest once drove their Honda Civic down to the site, so it really depends on your comfort level. If in doubt, just ask! We have a security camera on site we use for wildlife sightings and to check the weather. If the idea of having the camera bothers you, feel free to place a blanket or some other type of cover during your stay. We can also turn the camera to only face the entrance. Just let us know. Please respect the surroundings and others' property. There are several other vacation cabins in the area and everyone enjoys their peace and quiet. We provide a privy for guests to use, but be prepared to pack out waste in case it doesn't meet your standards. We try to keep it clean and stocked with TP, but we can only get out to the land every few weeks. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, Sagebrush Hollow is the place for you.

There are no orchards left on the property but we are moving on with a vegetable and flower garden, goats, chickens and a llama. Our group-style camping area is great for small groups of people or small, two-somes too. We have a total of 4 spots,; 1 is suitable for 2 large, or 3 small tents, 2 are suitable for 2-averags-sized tents, and one is a small tent spot only. Camp spots are next to each other, so not alot of "Wild forest-camping" here. We refer to it as urban camping. Please be aware that there is some traffic noise here, as we are close to Highway 2. Weekend camping is limited, and you may hear the occasional train whistle. WiFi and fire pit included as well as on-site port-a-potties. There is a large communal firepit, but no individual camp firepits, with the option of bringing a propane stand-alone firepit. Small fires only in June, fire ban starting July 1st due to wildfire concerns. No smoking and children are OK as long as they are kept under control. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are spacing camps out more, we have a foot-operated handwash station, and 2 hand sanitizing stations. Per the CDC, we are unable to offer any potable water to anyone this year. Our camping area is somewhat small, does NOT have grass, but area has bark. Please be ready to be respectful of our neighbors and other campers by keeping your music to a low-to-medium volume. Please bring photo ID and a credit card to complete our camper registration form with. RV spot up to 40' with hookup for water, septic and power. Located above Wenatchee with open vistas of the Cascades. Nearest neighbor 1/4 mile away. Wenatchee is 12 miles away, 35 miles to the Gorge Amphitheater, 30 miles to Leavenworth and 45 miles to Lake Chelan. This is an farming area with cherry orchards 200 feet from the site. It is busy during cherry harvest (4th of July through end of July) with regular chemical sprays being applied by our neighbors from April through September so if you are sensitive to agricultural chemicals this site is not recommended. Also be advised we're on top of a mountain and can get quite breezy at times. Pets are welcome but should be supervised due to predators (primarily coyotes and various birds of prey). And the chickens, I have a friend raising chickens on the upper part of the property where they mostly just make routine chicken noises but there are some roosters that seem to be nocturnal which some folks can find annoying. We also have varying numbers of snakes as the weather warms up some years they are more prevalent than others (contact me if you are concerned for a snake report). On the bright side we don't have any wasps or mosquitoes. This site is available once the snow melts and the mud dries up, typically mid-March until it begins freezing on a regular basis which varies but not much past mid October.

Camping near Wenatchee guide

Overview

Central Washington’s compact city of Wenatchee claims to be the "Apple Capital of the World," and for good reason. The surrounding valley is full of apple orchards, with fruit stands hawking all sorts of apple varieties in late summer. Wenatchee also provides easy access to the nearby community of Cashmere, where Liberty Orchards has produced Turkish delight-style Aplets and Cotlets for over a century. And while apples are big business, Wenatchee offers plenty more, with ample opportunities for outdoor fun throughout the year. You can even camp right in town, at Wenatchee Confluence State Park.

Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest

Just east of Wenatchee, the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest offers alpine lakes, dense forests, and plenty of campgrounds and backcountry camping options. The forest extends all the way up to Canada, and borders the expansive North Cascades National Park to the northeast.

Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest

Running alongside the western side of the Cascade Mountains, Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest is the most visited national forest in the country. It boasts an extensive network of rivers and offers ample opportunities for winter sports. Almost half of the forest is designated wilderness area, and is inaccessible by motorized vehicle, but there are plenty of developed campsites for those who aren't up for backpacking.

Southeast Washington Wine Country

You’ll find some of Washington's most celebrated wine-growing areas just south of town, and the Wenatchee itself is right in the heart of the Columbia Valley AVA. The highest concentration of wineries and vineyards are found in and around Walla Walla, Yakima, and the Tri-Cities of Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland.

When to go

Wenatchee is at its most pleasant in July and August, when the weather is warm and generally dry. This is the best (and busiest) time for camping in the region, though the weather is generally favorable well into September. Winter is also worth considering if you're fond of outdoor snow sports, and December, in particular, draws visitors looking to take advantage of the festive cheer at the nearby Bavarian-inspired town of Leavenworth.
