Iron Quail Ranch is a modern off-grid homestead and meat goat ranch. The ranch lies in the center of Avra Valley, Arizona on historic farm and ranch land which has gradually been managed to return to its natural state of mesquites, ironwoods, cacti, and natural grasses. The ranch sits beautifully positioned between Saguaro National Park and Ironwood Forest National Monument. At Iron Quail Ranch we offer you a private and secure RV or tent campsite on 15 acres adjoining over 200,000 acres of public lands. No tent or RV? You can add our "truckwagon" rental as an extra or primary sleeping space to your reservation. There are unobstructed views of Saguaro National Park (West) and a private entrance into Ironwood Forest National Monument. There is abundant wildlife thriving in the riparian watershed on the property. There is easy access to both National parks from the property via ATV/UTV, car/truck, or even horseback. Don't own an off road 4x4 or horse? You can rent our 4x4 ATV as an extra to your campsite reservation. The level campsites can fit everyone from a tent camper up to 40-foot RVs. There is good cell phone reception on all major carriers at the property. Potable water, a sewer dump station, an outdoor kitchen, and a modern outhouse are available on the property. 120v electric charging stations are also available to recharge your small portable electronic devices.

Excellent!!
My 2nd time staying here was even better than the 1st time. Michael and Sabine continue to improve the property and are great host. Secluded, quite, clean bathrooms and hot showers. This is by far my favorite Hipcamp I've stayed at. Thanks again Michael and Sabine for an awesome experience!

Awesome place!
Perfect balance of community and privacy. Close to Saguaro National Park and Ironwood Monument. Far enough away though so you don't hear traffic or other noises other than some coyotes, quail and other birds along with some dogs and chickens. All very nice sounds to hear as you're falling asleep and waking up. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The host was very considerate and helpful. He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave some great pointers. Facilities are nice and clean and the outdoor kitchen was a definite bonus. Will definitely be going back when I have some more time and will be bringing my friend. She will love the place! I also got to see my first roadrunner and two different kinds of lizards. They are pretty cute.

You’ll Feel Right at Home!
You 100% need to stay here!! Michael & Sabine were exceptional hosts and pillars of their community. They truly have created a space where you feel right at home. Their homestead ranch is beautiful, secluded, and so intentionally designed as to give guests a private site, yet close enough to enjoy their added amenities such as community outdoor kitchen, restroom, and even an RV dump station! For us, the high end country-chic outhouse with instant hot shower was a huge value add as we are full time vanlifers with an “out-the-back” style shower— not the most convenient when boondocking in community places or when the weather gets chilly. Additionally, we’re so grateful to their hens for laying fresh eggs for us to enjoy during our extended stay. I would highly recommend trying a dozen for your breakfasts while you’re there! We’ll absolutely return again when we’re coming through the Tucson area!!!

Desert oasis
Mike’s land is beautifully kept. The animals are also living their best lives. You can tell there’s pride and respect for the native plants and animals. The sunsets and landscape were spectacular. Mike is a gracious host - we were able to build our own campfire, bought on-site eggs, and our kids were even allowed to participate with feeding his goats. It feels good to support a place that has regenerative and sustainable goals. We followed his tip to visit the Desert Museum and loved it. Could have spent a whole day there. Afterwards we visited Saguaro NP, just 15 minutes away from the property! The only issue I had was out of their control, a neighboring property runs their generator in the night and since our tent was not so far from it, and depending how the wind blows, the sound is not pleasant. Otherwise there would be radio silence except for a lovely coyote song here and there. The bathroom was in tip-top shape. Everything is built beautifully. Would go back!

Disconnecting at Quail Ranch
Our weekend getaway at this secluded spot was absolutely perfect. Our host, Michael, was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. His extensive knowledge of the land and its history added an extra layer of depth to our experience. The well-equipped outdoor kitchen was perfect for our family, and we enjoyed many delicious meals together under the stars. The clean and well-maintained bathroom was a bonus. We were able to fully disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with nature and each other. The peace and quiet allowed us to fully relax and recharge. We will always treasure this wonderful weekend getaway. Bella was such a sweet and smart dog! Can't wait to visit again! Thank you, Michael!
