Placed perfectly in between two popular Buffalo National River Access Points: South Maumee and Spring Creek. Grassy Road currently offers: two tiny house cabins, 5 tent sites with 20 amp electric, 3 more primitive tent sites, and 10 RV sites that are full water/sewer hookups with 20/30/50 amp service. There is a private two unit bathhouse with hot showers! This campground is designed to operate remotely through partners like Hipcamp without owners or managers always on site. All check-ins and check-outs will be done self service. The owners have kayaks and life jackets that are available to borrow they ask that you message them before and be sure to return them in good condition. There is firewood for sale provided by a neighboring friend. There are several trails that criss-cross the property, and we encourage everyone to explore just be safe and try to give other vacationers their privacy.

You will understand why we all call this area of NEA paradise. Hardy has restaurants, junk shops, candy shop and a hippy store! Hardy beach is a treasure of a local swimming hole with waterfalls and rope swing. Camp Cock-A-Doodle is surrounded by tall trees and truly gives you that deep wood vibe. Details of the campground came right from the land. Large rocks collected from the land were used to create the fire pits. The cedar post marking each campsite were harvested right from the land.

Calico Camp is a lovely, shady spot on private property about 2 miles from Calico Rock Main Street and the White River. Rich in history and great fishing. Bring your boat and kayak. Or, you can rent one in town. There are fishing guides available, too. I moved here in 2016 from Atlanta, Georgia. I actually lived in an RV in a beautiful park for several years there. And, loved it! I thought I was going to do that here, but changed my mind when I found this sweet little house on a couple of acres. Deer visit us, and bunnies make their homes here. I have cats and dogs of my own. I work at the Calico Rock Museum and invite you to visit us. We have a wonderful Heritage Center and a gallery/gift shop with works of art created by local artisans. About 2 miles from the White River and Main Street Calico Rock. Turn from Hwy. 56 can be tricky for big rigs because of a ditch at Jones Street. Left hand turn is easier than right hand turn. You can use the parking lot across the street to help you back your rig into the campsite. We have permission from the owner to do that. There is room for your boat, too. Pets are welcome. Close to grocery, bank, gas. The White River is famous for its trout fishing. Deer hunting in the area, too. (Not on this property.) The hookups are on the left side (right side if you back in). You may need extensions for your power and sewer. I have them available, if you don’t have your own. PLEASE TAKE YOUR TRASH WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE. Clean up your spot and make it welcoming for the next Hipcamper. Thank you so much.

You won't find another camping area like this, 5 minutes to Calico Rock (Stores and restaurants) with so much to do and see in the area, hiking trails, Gunner Pool and Blanchard caverns, since we are surrounded by the Ozark National Forest! Not to mention, world-class trout fishing or kayaking just 5 minutes away in the famous White River! Only 25 minutes to 2 Norfork Lake entrances, too! We now have a nice, new clean outhouse as well as offering a generous pile of firewood for just $10! More amenities like picnic tables are coming. You are free to explore the entire property (At your own risk) but I ask that you respect our privacy and avoid going close to our house and if we have any farm animals, please do not disturb them. The property has history - you can see remnants of the Lynch in-ground waterslide locals enjoyed in the 70s winding down our ridge. The Baker Lodge was built on the slide entrance, with our sleeping cabins overlooking both the trees down the ridge and the slide. The house on property was once a restaurant and was converted to a duplex to host travelers to the Buffalo River years ago. Our acreage adjoins the Buffalo National River Park boundaries and you can explore around the ridge. Buffalo Point is literally at the end of our street. You can hike an amazing trail called Indian Rockhouse - it's interesting and fun every season. Sailing, fishing, swimming, paddling, and even scuba diving are all popular sports on the lake, but even during the busy summer months, there’s a sense of wild seclusion in and around the lake. There are 11 full-service campgrounds surrounding the lake and four more primitive getaways. Hiking trails connect many of the campgrounds and will take you around the lake or deep into the forest.
