Honouliuli will focus on the wartime experience of prisoners in the camp. Through photos and interpretive exhibits, you can learn about the American immigrants imprisoned there. Walk through the site to get a feel for camp life. Until the monument is finished, you can tour the camp with the Japanese Cultural Center. Can't make a tour? Head to the Honouliuli Education Center in Mō‘ili‘ili. There, you can see artifacts from prisoners and watch videos about their experience. The center also has virtual tours of the monument.
Around Honouliuli, there are plenty of activities for the whole family. Set up camp in nearby Waipahu, or stay by the ocean in Nanakuli Beach Park. Bringing a tent? The weather is ideal for year-round camping.
