A treehouse in the city of Phoenix?! Yes. Our 1 acre property just outside of the heart of Central Phoenix has two legacy pine trees, one of which holds a treehouse that was originally built as an extra space for our family and is now open for guests.
Not too long ago, our neighborhood roads were dirt, and there are still several horse ranches in the neighborhood. Hiking trails start at the end of our street leading to the Phoenix Mountains and a 3 minute drive will get you to Dreamy Draw Park and Piestewa Peak, with endless miles of hiking and grand views of the city.Walk up the ramp and disappear into the branches of our giant pine tree. You'll find a large deck suspended in the trees and a cozy little treehouse with giant windows.
No one would ever expect a treehouse in a quiet neighborhood of Phoenix. There is enough distance from the road and tree coverage that you remain hidden. Views from inside the tree are beautiful and you'll go mostly unnoticed!
I built this treehouse as a work space and studio during the covid era, while working remotely as admin for a luxury treehouse construction company. Our family still lives in the house and we welcome guests to use the treehouse. The large windows allow for great views and are mostly hidden behind all of the tree branches. Enjoy the treehouse experience and wonderful views of our quiet neighborhood next to the mountains!
The treehouse has a full size bed and a small futon. There is a bathroom in the property backyard about 40 yards away with a sink and hot shower. There is good wifi signal in the treehouse and a fresh water tank. If you stay more than one night you'll see me and my family going in and out the front door and walking our dog, but we'll always be behind and under the treehouse, never looking in (I built it with that in mind).
The treehouses is watertight, no worry about rain, but it is not totally airtight so the temperatures are similar to camping and there is no heater. Phoenix winters are generally mild though and there will always be enough blankets for you!

An outstanding stay in Phoenix
Outstanding grounds. What a joy to wake up to the silhouette of the local mountains against the sunrise along with the morning sounds of the birds. A truly beautiful site in all regards.

We loved our mountain tree house stay! It was so incredible to stay up in the tree house and watch the sunrise and sunset each day. It got a little chilly at night (in late February) but there were plenty of blankets so we stayed warm. The tree house was clean and beautiful and we felt like we were in an oasis. The outdoor bathroom and shower were clean and easy to access. Niko was very responsive to any needs that came up, and Zeppy the elderly Aussie was such a sweetheart. 10/10 would recommend, esp. for a winter get-away!
