Back 40 offers boutique glamping with canvas bell tents, each equipped with 4 single beds for that extra bit of camping comfort. The exclusive private camp features plenty of roomy Adirondack chairs, firepits & firewood, a central camp kitchen, picnic tables, campstoves, fashionable outhouses (one without a roof with views galore), a cold-water shower, and bear storage bins to keep your consumables safe and the wildlife wild. Pets are welcome for no additional fee. Back 40 is also a center for outdoor learning, with instructors who can get you up-to-speed on how to stay safe and navigate in the wild. They specialize in beginners but can also design a learning program to challenge the experienced. Unwind, reconnect, discover and explore!

A perfect getaway

*Booked all three sites - Kootenay, Brisco, Bugaboo* Incredible. The site, the views, the amenities, everything was perfect. The tents were beautifully set up with the mountain views and sky in mind. The outhouses were clean and a short walk from the tents. The cooking shelter was well-equipped. It is evident that the hosts have put a lot of thought into everything, from the ease of finding the property to providing the luxuries I have not yet seen in other glamping sites. It was so easy to find everything we needed and was very intuitive. And to top it off, Katherine was very responsive and lovely to be in touch with. I really can't say enough good things about my experience. It is such a rare treat to enjoy the brilliance of the night sky without all the light pollution and noise. My group is already talking about planning another trip out. Truly looking forward to the next time we can visit. Until then, we have some of the best memories to sustain us.

Mountain glamping - the Kootenay

Had a great weekend with my kids and their friends. The tents were very comfortable with lots of space for everyone’s gear. The views from the tents and the lower fire pit are spectacular. The cooking shelter is huge and great for rainy days. I would like to go back again sans kiddos so I can enjoy sitting on the deck and reading a book! It’s a very peaceful well appointed setting.
