This land was home to the Miwok, then European and Chinese miners, then a cattle rancher. It was also home to a former nun who quit the dominican order to purchase this land for inner city kids to have a chance to ride, swim, hike and fish. We moved here in 2017 and purchased this land with the main goal to raise our large family here, but we have found that good things must be shared! There is NOTHING like being in the wilderness of this area for a good re-centering of the soul! We have found it to be a true blessing for our family, and we hope you can experience this blessing as we share this space with you. We feel certain you will not be disappointed with this beautiful river canyon. Our property is situated right on the middle fork cosumnes river. We have 2 sleeping cabins and several tent sites (can be rented separately). The cabins offer a rustic/minimalist type vibe - bring your own bedding/pillows to sleep on the comfy futon. A table and chairs are provided for the cabins. Tent sites have a wood table (bring your camp chairs) and a fire pit when the season is open for burning. The swimming is awesome and the stars at night will put you into a state of awe! Many family owned wineries in the area, most of them offering free tasting. It’s a short drive to Tahoe and the Marshall gold discovery site as well as the historic hangtown Placerville. The recent Caldor Fire was VERY close to our property and a back burn was initiated nearby the cabins. It is still as beautiful as ever but please know there are lots of slash piles. Falling trees and burned up stump holes are also a risk and it is presumed campers will be cautious and use at their own risk. Please don't hesitate to shoot us a message if you have any questions!

Tent Site 6
Riverside spot
This site was perfect, just a few steps away from a very calm and shallow bit of the river. My kids and I had a great time! Will definitely come back.

Tent site 3
Campsite 3 Summer Vacation
We all had the time of our lives! Running water and flush toilets are a great feature for the location. The sites are spaced out and limited occupancy so you never feel overcrowded. Site 3 is huge and goes back all the way to a cliff with water views. The walk down to the river through a trail is just two minutes, and you can ride the river down the property and walk back to create an endless loop of fun. Shade at the site is great during the morning and evening but pretty harsh by midday. We brought a shade tent and that helped. The kids loved the river and I was impressed with the shale formations and old growth trees along the banks. I really wanted to go hiking through the area but I couldn’t see any boundary markers so I thought better. We have tried other spots on the Consumnes

Cabin #1
We were blown away by the beautiful river and all the spots you could access the water. We had grandparents and toddlers and everyone was able to have a good time with the sandy shore access near campsite 5. Grandparents stayed in cabin 1, and it was great for them (although they mentioned they would like a little more privacy with a window cover). The rest of the family tent camped in the attached campsites, but I found them to be on too much of an incline, I would recommend setting up your tent in the flat parking spot that’s only a few more feet away. Overall we had a great time! It’s a beautiful area, clean, quiet and the hosts, Jobe and Noleen were very helpful and kind.

Tent/RV Site 1
Meh overall
Host was always helpful and responsive. She so graciously opened tent site #1 for us last min because the other sites weren’t available for the third day I wanted to book. And since she had used it to host a party the previous week, she let me use the fridge and power outlet that was connected out there. I was very excited , but when we arrived…. I came to learn that this site was literally right behind their home. I was right next to their home. And we were right next to the bathrooms. There was really no privacy at all. And we couldn’t sleep because I could smell the bathrooms instead of the forest air , and hear people walking up and slamming the bathroom doors the whole time. This site also had no trees except for the small patch next to the bathrooms… so it was excruciatingly hot and I had to put my tent in front of the bathrooms to stay somewhat cool . I also ordered two bundles of firewood. Not sure what wood it was but it did not burn hot… I drove to the store the next day and got some acorn wood so I could actually have heat at night. Was pretty disappointed overall for the price, But also grateful that the host was flexible . I would say that for the price, it didn’t feel like camping to me at this site. And it was really hard being next to bathrooms and next to the house. But I know she opened that up last min to accommodate me, so I am grateful. Just didn’t feel like camping and wish I hadn’t spent so much money. And the private river spots were gorgeous !
