Secluded romantic, tranquil, peaceful desert get-away. Ten private acres with amazing views in all directions. No power lines obstruct the views. While our property encompasses 10 acres, 2 rings of 10-acre parcels that surround us are undeveloped desert landscape, so it feels like you are in the middle of 200 acres, with expansive views.
Relax in style and take a load off in one of our two spacious glamping tents and enjoy the serenity and peace of nature and the magic desert energy at this green off-grid property.
Cook dinner in the outdoor kitchen, or enjoy sunsets with a glass of wine or a beer in comfortable outdoor chairs and sleep in a super comfy airbed on a cloud of soft pillows. Stargazing and exciting adventures await in the nearby vibrant artist town of Joshua Tree and the world-famous Joshua Tree National Park.
There is a bathhouse with a solar shower and composting toilet. We are hooked up to city water, so there is a faucet where you can refill your water jug or the solar shower bag.
Other things to note:
You can get water at the southeast side of the property.
Fires are only allowed if you have plenty of water next to it, and are strictly forbidden per county regulations if there is ANY wind/breeze. If you have your heart set on making a fire on a windy night, we do have a backup option, we have a propane fire ring for rent, please refer to the 'extras' section. Propane fire pits don't fall under the same wind regulations because they don't create embers. There is only one propane fire ring available for both sites on a first come basis.
Our stoves and heaters use a 1-pound propane bottle (the green one). We no longer provide complementary propane bottles, but there are several places in town where you can get them and we do have them for sale.
Our check in is on or after 4 pm. Our check out is before 11 am.

This campsite offers a charming and serene experience with its remote desert setting, perfect for stargazing and enjoying the quiet solitude. The tents are cozy, with most guests finding the air mattresses and blankets comfortable even during cooler nights. Sabina, the host, is noted for her helpfulness and attentiveness, ensuring guests have a pleasant stay. However, some reviews mention that windy conditions can disrupt sleep, and the composting toilet might not be up to everyone's standards.
Such a funky and fun spot. We probably could’ve benefitted from getting the extra propane heat but did okay with temps overnight in the 40s! Air mattress was pretty comfy and blankets were warm. If you want extra light, bring a headlamp or maybe red lights for stargazing. Google maps + the hosts directions were easy to follow. Totally fine to access in a FWD sedan. Composting toilet was nice to have. We didn’t end up using the outdoor shower during our short stay.
The entire trip was amazing and Sabina was very friendly and accommodating!! We throughly enjoyed our stay and the tipi and facilities were beautiful and amazing, Sabina takes great care of her property! Thank you very much for having us, we will definitely be returning!
There are some great things about this place, and there are things that could be improved.
Pros: Remote location that's still near Joshua Tree (15 min drive into town) with beautiful views of the sunset and lots of stargazing. Sabina was a great host, very quick to respond and helpful. Tent is nicely decorated and clean. Yes, there is a second tent on the property, but it's far enough away that it still feels private.
Cons: If you're going in the winter months, it will be cold sleeping on an air mattress (plenty of blankets and quilts were provided). We also had to reinflate the mattress. The tent held up against windy conditions, but we had to adjust the ropes outside as it was starting to droop inside. The cooking utensils/cups/plates were dirty, so we didn't end up using them. The composting toilet is a bucket that wasn't doing much composting - it was still full of previous guests' waste, so we avoided using the toilet because it was pretty vile. It could be improved by adding composting material (wood chips/litter or composting chemicals) to help waste break down faster.
With a few improvements it would be a great stay, because it really is a special place to stay in the desert.
This is exactly what we needed, coming from a big congested city. It was great to be in the open space with a beautiful sky view. We even saw the comet, not realizing what it was lol
Sabina is a wonderful hostess and the property is secluded. I recommend checking in before the sun goes down because it’s easy to get lost. The driveway is lined with plates, coffee cups and wine glasses. So cute! The outdoor restroom was a treat as well. At night, you can hear the coyotes in the distance and after that, complete quietness. So much beauty including the living spaces. I’ve never been on an air mattress so comfy and the bedding was cozy. I would for sure recommend this site.
It was fine. A little disappointing. It felt and smelled like the tent hadn't been aired out in quite a while. Would be nice if there were some screened flaps to open up to get some air movement.
And it definitely wasn't as secluded as the listing insinuated. There was another tent about 20 yards away.
views were amazing! the directions to the entrance were accurate and well marked. the bed was comfy with enough seating inside and outside.
