Additionally The Moon Yacht just got a newly built 8ft x 2ft. Stock Tank Pool with large filter and pump water circulating and cleaning system. This deck is beautiful and with the Stock Tank Pool is complete game-changer for those looking to stay during the summer months, these stock tank pools are the best cooling system going, flop in this thing and your summer time blues will evaporate in an instant! See the pictures. Please NOTE- POOL will be drained and stored away for the winter months, starting Dec 1st till April 1st.
The campsite offers a unique desert experience but has mixed reviews regarding cleanliness and maintenance. Positive feedback highlights the beautiful location, stunning views, and a sense of privacy, making it appealing for stargazers. On the downside, several guests reported issues with mice, cleanliness, and broken amenities, which affected their stay. Overall, it's a spot with potential, but the current upkeep might not be up to everyone's standards.
10 minutes away from the Joshua Tree's Visitor Center. RV was Nice and cozy. Only down side is the stove inside the RV did not work. A little annoying as we wanted to make coffee in the morning. Besides that the area was nice.
Everything was great up until we went to bed and realized that as lights went out rodents came out. We followed all instructions and kept all doors closed and all food contained, yet we heard grinding of mice chewing wood behind the stove all night long. When we woke up we found that the mice had eaten through a bag of chips, crawled in and out of the the sink pooping all in the dishes and there even were mice turds in the bed between the sheets....horrified we showered and got the hell out. So it appears that either THE SHEETS WERENT CHANGED or WE WERE POOPED ON BY MOUSES AS WE SLEPT. It was a very horrible end to what started as a very beautiful night. We are nature people and have no problem sharing space with wildlife, but they have a serious mouse infestation problem, they are aware of it and renting it out anyway passing it off as “you’re on the edge of wilderness”. At 2 am, we had to set up our tent and we moved out to the carport because the grinding was too much and we could not sleep. The host offered a 25% refund which was insulting due to our experience, but I took it anyway. Don’t stay here unless you like mouse poop all over your stuff. :(
It didn’t seem like the place had been cleaned prior to our arrival. There were mouse droppings inside the airstream, a broken light bulb outside, and random junk scattered around outside. The mouse traps were also left out in the open and in the morning there was a dead mouse in plain view. There were also ants that got into our bag even though we kept all our food inside our vehicle.
The outdoor shower was broken, which was a huge let down because it was a main reason we chose to stay here.
On a positive note, the AC worked well, the deck was nice, and it did have a good view.
Great little spot right on the border of Joshua Tree National Park. Quiet, private, beautiful stargazing. Active and communicating host. Just know this isn't glamping, this is rustic. But comfortable. The stock tank was an excellent way to cool off during the 100 degree summer day. The AC on the unit brought the night temp down in like 30 minutes. Slept 3 and 2 dogs comfortably! Only "wish" is that the LY had an outdoor shower too! Will return.
We LOVED the Land Yacht. The airstream, the deck, the views. 10/10
Perfect after a day of exploring JTNP. The host was so friendly and helpful. She communicated so thoroughly in advance about any questions we may have or anything we might need to know, plus recommendations for things to do In the area.
What an amazing place! We had a very comfortable night here, cooked in the bbq and sat out to watch the huge night sky. Crystal was super helpful and there was everything we needed in the Land Yacht to make this a truly memorable stay.
