Rude Greeting, Laid-back Stay
Some of the directions through the app, via the directions button, as well as the posted instructions on the building which’s address is posted as the business’s address, list two different locations for check-in. Upon pointing this out once I’d finally found where to check-in, the host greeted me not with curiosity but with outright rudeness and a lack of willingness to hear where on the app I was referring to. It was so uncomfortable of a conversation that I ended up having to state that I wouldn’t argue with him about it. I’ve never experienced more rude behavior when checking into somewhere I’ve paid to stay that here. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you can find better nearby. Honestly, we could have stayed in Oakhurst and likely paid the same amongst the number of us splitting the bill and had a much less awkward and rude experience. All that to say, I’m not sure this person was the host or the person they have checking people in, but the grounds were lovely for the process you pay, had nearby trash and even recycling receptacles, the sweetest pup you could ever be greeted by who played fetch with us for hours, and a lovely assortment of kitchen materials/tools to work with. This stay was a solid 50/50 for me. We didn’t have to interact with the greeter again, and the laid-back vibe of the rest of the stay was ideal.

Great camping experience! Manager was very helpful with information about yosemite. The drive to yosemite was not bad at all. Plenty of fire pits, bbq grills with propane already hooked up and provided. Bathrooms and showers close by with hot water. Best of all, a friendly dog named mac comes with the camping experience to make sure you get to play fetch!

Didn’t expect brackish water, but the location to Yosemite was superb. The host was super friendly and helpful. Excellent experience in the park.

We had a lovely stay at Mac’s campground. It is less than an hour drive to the Yosemite West entrance and we were able to get an early start and have a full day in Yosemite. The restroom facility was clean, showers had warm water, and we appreciated the sink behind the restrooms to wash our dishes. We stayed in one of the many cabins and had no issues. The heater in the cabin was really nice especially during the winter season. Mac came by our site to say hello and was very friendly. I will definitely look to stay again in the future when making a trip to Yosemite.

Campsite with Wildlife
My boyfriend, our dog and I stayed here in November. We rented a tent space and slept in our car— it was more than we had hoped for. Mac and his wife provide restrooms, showers, cooking supplies and plenty of stoves for any campers to use. The space is breathtaking— surrounded by deer and neighborhood dogs (keep a lookout for sticks, a bordercollie that loves to play fetch), this space is perfect for anyone looking to use this as their base to Yosemite. We did not have any issue finding a secluded space and greatly enjoyed the peace and quiet that comes with staying here. We found ourselves very fortunate to stay here. If you are looking for a spa treatment, that is not what this is. We saw some reviews that did not match our experience here and I think that has to do with expectations for everything to be spick and span. The campsite is clean, well taken care of, and wildlife is respected. There are plenty of spaces to park/camp and Mac is very gracious with his time.
