Mixed feelings

Neat spot, but with a few problems

Group trip

We had a pretty good experience overall, though there were a few problems. The space itself is charming, the hosts have done a great job setting it up. The location is pretty convenient and the host's communication is fantastic. We did run into a few problems. First, note that the hot tub is no longer available. We also didn't see a wireless network at all, though we had cell service so no big deal. The hot water was REALLY iffy, sometimes it worked, much of the time it didn't. We also initially had some panic as the hosts ran into an emergency and initially planned to cancel 24 hours before the reservation, but we were able to work that out, to the host's credit. They had a doggie emergency and that counts as an emergency in my book. Still, it was nerve-wracking trying to figure out if my family had a place to stay for those two nights since we were already on the island. The one thing that I did find a bit crass was the host messaging me that Hipcamp charged us wrong and the stay should have been WAY more than we were charged, the host quoted $550 dollars for two nights. Their hipcamp location is nice, but not $275 a night nice, particularly with the issues we encountered. Overall not a bad stay at all, but it was a mixed experience.

The camp did not feel private at all. Nice inside. Super shower, but cars, building material and house right on the side, few meter from the hut

Really cute space with nice touches. The bed was comfortable and open air vibe is really nice. We didn’t use the hot tub but it has its own little space. The outdoor shower was probably our favorite thing complete with plants!

Paradise

We loved our stay at this location. We had been tent camping for five nights previous to our stay here and all of the conveniences here were a welcome change. The beds were comfy and the facilities were lovely. There were many nice little personal touches added as well. We loved the romantic quality of the lights strung on the tent and enjoyed the hot tub on our last night. The host is incredibly easy to communicate with and super helpful. Would definitely recommend and will certainly stay here again if I'm ever back on the big island.
