Our campsites are situated on 13 acres off the Historical Hamakua Coast, and home of the Hamakua Christmas Tree Forest. Awesome ocean view of the beautiful Pacific are a guarantee. It is quiet, safe ,and private with easy access just 3/4 mile off of the Hawaii Belt Road, (Highway 19), up a paved county maintained road. At Waikaumalo Park, "roughly a half mile" walk or ride away, you can take a cool dip in the fresh water stream surrounded by tropical foliage. Papa'aloa Country Store and Cafe has a restaurant and offers a wide selection of grocery items only 5 miles away. Botanical World Adventures just 3 miles away offers the Umauma Experience with ziplining, biking tours, trails exploring tropical flora, and triple waterfall views and adventures. Akaka Falls is only 6 miles away in Honomu. Laupahoehoe Point is only 15 minutes away offering swimming, fishing, and relaxing in the lava rocks and waves. All this is just 20 miles north of Hilo!

So welcoming! Exactly as described. The bed is also super comfortable. Hosts are amazing and welcoming with great communication. The view from the bed is phenomenal!

Wow! Beautiful view of the ocean in a secluded spot! Nancy was great to work with and really went above and beyond to make my stay work as I had some scheduling issues. The bed is comfortable and the view is amazing. There was adequate privacy for this type of structure. There is not potable water (though a reasonable amount of potable water was available in gallon containers. The water for the shower and bathroom come from a water catchment system. I would just recommend checking with the host about the water source from the catchment as the second day it was a little smelly.

Best view

BungaHigh Oceanview Cabin

The best part is the view (even on the toilet and while cooking)! Also it has everything you need (cooler, bed, plates etc.). We loved staying there!

Cute and comfortable

We had a great time at Nancy & Richard's little cabin in the forest. The bed was nice a comfortable. View was amazing! The ability to cook like we were camping was a benefit. Thanks for having a cooler present. We laughed at the ocean view while sitting on the toilet! 😅😅 Our only recommendations would be a table by the BBQ to prep and a screen for the patio to leave it open all night!

BungaHigh Oceanview Cabin

Was such a peaceful place to stay - so quiet & simple. Such a unique experience to stay within a Christmas tree farm too. The views were incredible and just what we needed after running around busy exploring. The host was very communicative and clear in their directions as well!
