Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home at some sites—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
We are a small 5 acre farmstead located on the beautiful Hamakua Coast. Our farm is home to a variety of animals and boasts numerous fruit trees. One of our proudest offerings is our free range chickens produce high-quality eggs. You can purchase these delicious eggs right here at the farm to enjoy for your breakfast. In addition to our chicken operation, we are also proud coffee producers. Our coffee is carefully grown and harvested on-site, ensuring a rich and flavorful cup every time. But coffee isn't the only thing we grow here. Our farm is also home to a diverse selection of fruit trees, including Jack fruit, Lychee, Longans, Avocados, Bananas, and Tangerines. When you visit our farm, you'll have the opportunity to relax and unwind in our main hangout Pavilion. This cozy space is the perfect spot to rest, soak in the peaceful surroundings, and truly appreciate the beauty of the farm. However, it's important to note that the Hamakua Coast is known for its lively rooster population. So, while you'll have a serene and tranquil environment during the day, be prepared for the sounds of roosters greeting the morning. One of the highlights of our farm is the stunning waterfall located near the property. Guests are welcome to hike down to this natural wonder and take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear swimming holes. It's an experience you won't want to miss. For your convenience, we offer an outdoor shower and a flushing toilet for our campers. We understand that comfort and cleanliness are important, even when enjoying the great outdoors. Thank you for considering a visit to our farmstead. We are excited to have the opportunity to host you and share the beauty and bounty of our farm with you.Welcome to our Nature Retreat Campsite. Pitch your tent on our 5 acre homestead on the historic Hamakua Coast of Hawaii. Experience hawaiian country life, connecting with nature, reading in a hammock while enjoying ocean breeze.  Super market is 5 minutes walk away. You will also have access to an outdoors shower and a flushing toilet We are right between Waipio Valley and hilo with multiple spots to visit on the coast. Akaka falls is just 15 minutes away. Hamakua Nature Retreat offers a mix of scenic beauty and practical amenities. Campers frequently mention the stunning ocean views, the convenience of a covered area with WiFi, and the delight of an outdoor shower. However, some guests have expressed concerns about noise from neighboring roosters and the challenges posed by the terrain during rain. While the site has a rustic charm, communication with the host has been noted as a potential area for improvement.

Spare yourself the heartache
Tent · With kids
Another guest thought it was ok to hit on my wife after I drove away. I told him that wasn’t respectful. That turned into him leaving then lying saying I threatened him and the host believing the first thing he heard regarding an incident. The neighbors (a nosy Filipina lady as described by the host) went along with the story and we were forced to leave for something that didn’t happen. Very disrespectful and passive aggressive.

Sad situation for Inocent cows
Aloha. I didnt know what to expect upon driving to the property I noticed there were 2 cows momma & it's baby [ not] small tho As I was checking around was very dismayed that there wasn't propane for the shower only a empty tank okay, but the thing they called a bunk house was nothing more then a shack. Lucky I had a huge plastic tarp in my car to cover the tiny couch bed thingy& a beach blanket to cover with. Thank god there were a string of solar lights I didn't break a leg It did have some cooking utensils & some spices where a cook stove was there But no running water so u had to walk to the hang out place 2 icky couches were. No propane for cooking stove but had running water so I did compromise. But surely feel I was Ripped off by the description & should get a refund glad I didn't book more. As a animal lover I felt like I was dersserting the poor cows no food or feed insight but the watering tub was empty for a long long time I crawled under the barb wire to get the tub & fill for water at least .I found a recipe in the garbage from 2023 so those cows were with out water how long.. Iam filing a report for animal neglect So sorry stay away !!!!

Ya get what ya pay for
Tent
You certainly do get what you pay for. GPS couldn’t find this location-neither Google nor Apple Maps. No host on site. Poor directions on where to stay. Shower gave creepy vibes. I’m not sure where the pics the host came from, but that ‘private secluded waterfall’ is straight out of a horror movie. Stairs to start to hike were overgrown with weeds. Tops toe offs to the river below is comparable to repelling down a mud hill. Once at the water, didn’t feel safe to enter soooo. There is a ‘common area’ but I did not hang out there. WiFi did not work. But, it’s cheap.

Great spot to park and sleep for the night as long as you enjoy the farm feel. Cows, chickens and all the birds to wake you up in the morning. I would definitely park here again!

The BEST
Tent
We live on the Big Island at South Point. When doing business on the north shore we often car camp rather than drive three hours home. We’ve been to them all and this is BY FAR the best HipCamp on the island. That is really all you need to know.
