A great view sitting along the river, a nice to stroll along the levee. Some of the online info is not correct - we had full hook-ups.

Lots of Potential//A Few Issues
The view is really pretty and you're close to several local wineries. The sites are big and easy to get in/out of even for big rigs. My biggest complaint is that not all sites that are advertised to have septic hook up actually have septic. Most of the pull through sites have a cap blocking off the connection. I reached out to the owner and they were very unresponsive/unhelpful. I ended up backing into another spot and dumping my tank there before I left -- I hope that was ok, but I couldn't wait an additional 2 days for a response and needed to empty my tanks before my next stop. They also say you need a parking pass in your car, but they expect you to print it yourself. Like many people on the road, I don't have a printer in my camper. I didn't have any issue but I was only there for the weekend.

Great!
Place was nice, clean, easy to navigate to, and right on the water. Bare-bone amenities especially for the tent sites, but for the price it’s hard to ask for much more. Absolutely would recommend this campsite!

Ok for a quick stay
Overall we had an ok experience staying here , we stayed during the solar eclipse and was only for 2 nights . As far as campgrounds go it's very VERY basic . The sites are almost uncomfortably close to each other with sites seeming like they were originally pull through but made Into 2 sites to fit more people in . So your basically back to back with your fellow campers . Your at a boat ramp so noise on the water is high and close to a highway so road noise is also noticable. There was a semi permanent porta potty with running water at the campground even though the hip camp description says there's no toilets . Our site 6 didn't have a fire pit at all and there are no picnic tables in the camp ground

great campsite, tight parking in some sites. also if your not friends of the critters this is RIGHT on the river so take all of that into consideration.

We needed a place to stay while we got our toad installed. Found this place in New Athens just 20 minutes from the shop. The campground is directly on the Kaskaskia river, next to the town marina. It is maintained by the city. They have full hookups, however the water is turned off for the winter. There is a faucet that remains open for filling up your tank. We were one of two RVs in the park. It was very quiet and peaceful. Our dogs were able to be off leash since they were the only ones. The superintendent of the town was the host. He was friendly and responsive. We will be happy to stay there again sometime.
