We were totally surprised in discovering this gem of a campground. It’s setting is on a quiet farm in a wooded area near the river. There is plenty of room to have your privacy and space from the other campers while enjoying the land. The host and family was very nice and helpful even giving us a route to experience an old but functioning covered railroad bridge. The grounds were beautiful, the stars were crisp, clear and something to gaze at. We will definitely go again.
The farm was a great place to stay! Host were welcoming and thoughtful - they left firewood piles out for us to use and even brought by a box of Moon Pies for the eclipse viewing (get it?!). There was plenty of space for a common gathering, or for private viewing. Trails around the property were beautiful, and fun to explore. Kid friendly, dog friendly. Great trip!
Excellent communication and warm hospitality from Haleigh, Nan, and Gary. The lodge was exactly as expected and had everything we needed.
A peaceful spot tucked between farm and forest, with a view of the river from the back porch and lots of land to explore. We couldn't have chosen a better place to experience the 2024 total eclipse.
I loved the idyllic meadow tent sites! Gorgeous grassy knoll with beautiful trees all around. Felt incredibly private and peaceful. We brought our truck camper and had no problems getting in and out. Thank you so much for sharing your little slice of heaven!
This was our first time using Hipcamp. We found this gem for the 2024 Total Eclipse weekend. This was a perfect large open meadow to pitch a tent. Plenty of space between each of the sites. Our host and her family are amazing folks. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel at home. Bring everything you need, it is primitive camping but if you forget anything you’re just minutes away from several towns to get supplies. At the river you could kayak or canoe. There is a nice marked trail to hike. We brought our dogs and they had as much fun as we did. We will definitely be back.
On our stay we had seen a bald eagle, heard owls, turkeys and coyotes in the far distance.
The stars at night are so clear and bright.
We are so happy that we chose this to experience the eclipse
Thank you Haileigh
