Nestled on the banks of the Ohio River, this primitive camp is ideal for nearby fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming! Our unique location offers a picturesque view of downtown Evansville and Dutch’s Island. Set in a no-wake zone, the shallow beachy island also serves as a barrier from the river channel creating calm lake-like waters. We are located only 0.2mi from Dogtown boat ramp and 300ft from Nu Plaza marina. Biking, walking/hiking trails, local park, and pool nearby.
On our property, we allow our campers the flexibility to pick their own perfect spot to camp. There are large mature trees that offer plenty of shade and flat ground for an easy setup. Each site has a firepit, picnic table, and nearby trash can. A firewood bundle is included and complimentary smores packages upon request. Our property features 2 communal areas each with a fire pit, charcoal grill, tables, chairs, and lights. There is access to electric power strips and water hoses in each communal area.
Kayaks are available to registered campers only first come, first serve. Price is $25 or a single kayak, $50 for a tandem. Includes lifejackets.

The campsite offers a mixed experience with its beautiful river views and proximity to a yacht club, making it an attractive spot for those who enjoy being by the water. Visitors appreciate the easy setup on flat grounds and the cleanliness of amenities like the porta-potty. However, the location near a train yard can be noisy, and some guests noted disturbances from other campers. Despite these issues, the host, Amber, is frequently praised for her hospitality and attentiveness.

Very nice place. Flat area, so easy to set up tents. Plenty of room to roam. It rained while we were there, but made the most of it.

Everything I needed for several days in St. Louis - easy access to the city, cute farm animals, and close to a Walmart.

My experience
Tent
Was there for five minutes when someone started beating there dogs, we stayed 2 nights. The second night was some guy in his underwear yelling about masturbating in his hammock. I understand people having a good time but owner needs to pay more attention or lay better ground rules. The property is nice and the river good for fishing. I just recommend setting a noise curfew and ask your clients to be appropriate around other families.

Affordable and Basic
Tent · With kids
Simply a mowed field with a picnic table and fire ring thrown into a few places. Porta-potty clean. Lots of mosquitos. It's affordable and basic.
