Our property was once the County Home until it was closed due to regulatory changes to the mental health industry. The property sat vacant for 2 years as a deficit for the county and its taxpayers. We had a plan to breathe new life into this property by re-opening as a non-profit Art, Community, and Retreat Center. We are in the heart of the rolling hills surrounding Guthrie Center & Lake Panorama. It is simply an amazing place. Please come and see what makes this experience unique. Need to have the place mowed. No real place to charge items as indicated, told i could use powerin garsen shed then they shut the door. Not sure what the shower and restroom where like, I was never showed them.

The views from Firefly were amazing! Brenda was super helpful and let us upgrade to an inside stay when it turned out to be cold, snowy and windy the night we were supposed to be camping there.

Lovely Camping with Farm Animals!

I loved my stay with Brenda! I got to see goats, cows, cats, and horses on this farm. The staff was friendly. We were able to find plenty of different options for parking and tenting. It is a very convenient place to get to as well, just outside of Des Moines. We loved having a variety of seating and picnic table options too.

Brenda was a wonderful and communicative host- she gave us a great lay of the land in advance so we knew just what to do when we arrived. The property is everything we had hoped- beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. An easy and wonderful stay on our cross-country journey.
