This beautiful property overlooks the stunning Melvern Lake. The property has a preserved natural view with no buildings in or homes within sight. The camping spot includes a fire pit, mowed area and is 200 yards off the access road and only 2 miles from the blacktop road. The view from the campsite overlooking the lake is breathe taking.
This was a nice solitary campsite out on the plains of Kansas adjacent to state land and a lake. A busy BNSF line is a mile or so to the south but it is far enough away to not be a bother. To get to the lake, I would hike down the hill straight west to southwest, there is a lot less thicket that way than if you go to the north. Once you get past the thicket there is a big hayfield making access to the lake easy. The path to the campsite is quite level so access shouldn't be a problem unless it just rained 2 inches.
A beautiful, secluded spot with stunning sunset and night sky views. If you want some peace and quiet, this is the place for you!
We enjoyed a relaxing weekend and would love to stay here again soon.
Lovely space. I didn’t have the opportunity to make my way to the lake but it was a peaceful stay. Josh left some firewood at the fire for me well. Very nice!
Wonderful, secluded spit, with an awesome view of Melvern Lake!! We added an extra night to our stay. Already wishing we were back in Kansas.
